Also, would like to stick with 380 if it is the same size as the 238. Shot the 938 and it was a good gun, but my follow up shots were considerably slower and the 5 round capacity would be identical to the SP101 while offering less muzzle velocity and impact force as well as a smaller wound channel.

Don't overthink it anon, if it feels good in hand and you like how it shoots, go for it. That's far more important that worrying about wound channels as long as we're talking about full size defensive calibers.

No dindu is going to look at the muzzle when you draw on them and say "lol shit wound channel, time to lube your ass"

Colt Mustang is inferior to the 238

Kimbers offerings are turds, they are fat, the triggers are worse than the LCP (which IMO isn't that bad, I sort of enjoy the staple gun-ness) and the magazine release sucks ass

There is the Seecamp .380. I have never shot one, but the one I handled was very nice. Don't know about $800 pocket pistol nice, but still nice.


From what you have said, I would say that the Sig 238 is probably your best bet.


Pic related is the best 238. Pinky extension on magazine, and the best combination of feel and slimness to the grips. And unless that is a new picture or something the grips are darker IRL

Thanks for the advice anon. I'd be getting a couple extra extension mags for whatever I buy so it seems the 238 is the way to go.

I have noticed on several 238's (I work in a gun shop)

The magazine spring seems to be fairly weak (the recoil springs on a .380 aren't particularly strong, so you can't have too much tension on the round pushing on the feed lips may jam the action) and as such it seems like it barely engaged the slide stop.

I am left handed and sling shot my EDC Steyr M9A1 (go figure) anyway so I don't really care. It isn't the case on all of them, but enough that I noticed. Just something to keep in mind

Don't know. Can't be assed to Google it and browse Sig forums looking for other people saying the same, just when you go to buy it see if you notice it if you are getting it in person. If you buy Sig mags from the shop your at, try a couple in it first too before you buy them. It wasn't the case on all, like I said just often enough I took notice.

Any pattern on the mfg dates? It will be from a LGS and they had it on hold for me (through my mother) and said they offer extra magazines I can test. Any other nirgles with it?

Actually fingerfuced the Kahr. Not enough of a purchase for my taste, though I own KM9 and its a fine pistol.

I have a p938. I carry out everyday, and I absolutely love it. I have the hogue grips on it and it's very comfortable. I highly recommend it.

I carry a P290rs now. It's so tiny and awesome.

M&P Shield in glorious 9mm

How's that Steyr M9A1, OP? Also, can't go wrong with a S&W Shield chambered in 9mm. I own and EDC one myself.
