I'm looking to get a cheap case(<$50) for my AR mostly for storage and taking to the range until I get a better one later, im not trekking through iraq or detroit or anything like that. I'd prefer a hard case but a soft one would probably do fine. There are a fuckton of options in this price range, can anyone recommend one? Or advise what to stay away from? noobtard question: Im looking to get a red dot/reflex sight for my AR that has a flat top receiver and F-marked A2 front sight. What height does the red dot need for absolute cowitness? what about 1/3? how do I know what riser I need to get, if any? is the type of cowitness only determined by the physical height of the sight or can it be adjusted via the sight? If i want to switch, say from absolute to 1/3, can I just adjust the sight's settings or do i have the physically change the sight's height via adding/removing a a riser?

This confused me as well. They were constantly switching out handguards on their rifles which was beyond comprehension. I think they eventually just put a sign on their website saying that they'll put on whatever handguard you ask for.

I think the only product of theirs that I ever saw being sold were their forged receiver sets on Weapon Outfitters and they got really good reviews, but WO only ever got a single shipment of them. Oh well, guess that's what happens when you gamble with people's money.

I don't usually post in ar generals but I need your guys' help. I want to build an xm177 commando clone in .300 black out. I plan on going with an 11.5" barrel and a pinned 5.5" muzzle brake. The trouble is I don't know if that combination of barrel length and gas system (carbine length?) will be reliable with the .300blk cartridge. You can reprofile an A2 yourself if you have the tools and knowhow. You can get one from NDS if you don't mind waiting 8 months. You can get one from McKay Enterprises once they're back in stock.
