So we're all in agreement that this is currently the best CC pistol for the money, right?

Honestly I trust this bad boy with my life, it has never left me down. I believe that this is the greatest CC pistol ever made, do you agree?

http://strawpoll.me/5903333

What's a better CC if you disagree?

I carry a Shield 9 for a backup, and for my CCW on off days. Only issue it's had is my girlfriend limp-wristing and garbage Winchester white box ammo. Other than that, it's been a great little underwear gun.

mostly new carriers who I indoctrinate in the way of the shield. my job is awesome because it allows me to shape the opinions of new gun people to match mine :)

also most people who are looking for a carry gun and already know what they want just walk up and point to it.

>>
Compared to other Stryker fired pistols, the trigger is fairly good.
For being a relatively small fun, it does fit my hands surprisingly well.
The ammo capacity is fair.

The only cons I see is that the slide release is more of a slide catch, and you have to really release it manually. The safety is a bit stiff on mine, which is fine I suppose.

Overall I love it, would buy again.

Waltherfag here.
Shield > PPS
Grip doesn't tear flesh, trigger is actually very good, not just for a carry pistol, mags hold 1 more round at the same size, safety option available, won't break if the grip falls off.

It's the 21st Century version of the J frame snubs that old fart cops insist on carrying but when your mag has more than five beans in the wheel your options look a lot brighter. In fact there are a lot of subcompact nines out there so the consumers are really spoiled for a small CCW

>>
>>27773015
Had one, tried it for a year and hated it.
The concealability was fantastic but i was never able to be as accurate as I am with my G26.
Great gun for some, but not for all.
>>
>>27773212
I had the option of getting a model with night sights for $100 more, but I realized shooting with night sights in the dark is pretty much the same thing as shooting in the dark without them, except that you know exactly what patch of nothing you're gonna hit
>>
>>27773015
i like the 43 better

just prefer it, i think theyre p much the same
>>
>>27773015
I tried the shield, the Glock 26 and the XD Subcompact, did about 50 rounds each. XD Subcompact felt the best in my hands and I had consistently better groups with it. I also like that I don't need to put some weird mag extender or magazine gap filler to lengthen the grip.
>>
>>27775883
Aslo tried a buddy's sig, I forget which one, I think it was >>27773531 though.

I shot as well with the Sig as I did with the XD and the metal is fuckin cool, but I couldn't justify spending double on it.
>>
>>27775883
Odd, I don't even need an extended grip on my shield. PPS I needed one, XDs needed one, but I can get a full three finger grip on the shield no problem.
>>
>>27774137
for when you get unexpected urge to jihad?
>>
Only complaint about my shield is the way the trigger safety works. Don't really like that I have to pull the right part of the trigger to fire the gun. Going to replace it with the Apex flat trigger ASAP
>>
>>27775908
Yeah I could get more of the third finger on the shield than on the XD with a short mag, but still not enough to actually have three fingers fully on the grip. For me the sweet spot is the XD with the extended mag in.

I love my shield but since winter is coming I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a cz75 compact pcr. What's a good price on a new one of those, any wisdom out there?
>>
Shield design is a little wonky, they unlock too fast. Go to a gun store, ask to see a shield- with the slide in battery, push straight down on the exposed part of the barrel, and it'll unlock.
>>
>>27776047
>uspc

My biggest complaint with the shield is how much of a bitch it is to get the recoil spring into place. I break a sweat trying to put it back together after field stripping.

>>
>>27776698
That's exactly what I did.
I'm with you on the 3 rounds thing, but that doesn't change the weirdo ergonomics of the 239.
>>
>>27776646
>muh unlocking
Lol, many guns do that because the way the barrel and recoil spring work, this is pretty simple shit, the reason why I can do that on a lot of my guns is because the springs aren't too stiff and they are tilting barrels, the round is out of the barrel before it recoils so it's a nonissue
>>
>>27775492
maybe practice and acquire better aiming skillz glockfag
>>
>>27776765
>this function, indicative of a gun that starts unlocking the breech during unsafe pressure levels, is a non-issue

mhmm, sure

Have you never seen someone test the lockup of a 1911 by pressing down on the barrel? Also, please enlighten me on which of your other handgun models you've put less than 1000 rounds through do the same thing.
>>
>>27776646
when are you going to pressing on top of the barrel in a defensive situation?
>>
>>27776831
You're not gonna be pressing the top of the barrel down in any situation other than gauging how solid the lockup of a handgun is. Which the shield flunks with flying colors.
>>
>>27773015
Shot one once. Didn't care for it. Felt flimsy, to small for my taste. I carry a Glock 19.
>>
>>27776815
1911 quality varies, This means the force required will vary, with enough pressure you will unlock it, my arm strength and yours may vary, do you even into math?
I can unlock my VP9, and just tested it on my girlfriends ccp
>>27776854
This means nothing, I can unlock my vp9 with slight pressure in the right spots but under firing conditions it's a nonissue, go away nogunz

>>27776970
I have handled 1911s and know how it is but that isn't a gauge for testing whether a handgun will unlock too early, go ahead and keep running in circles with your argument, the vp9 is made to be able to be unlocked very easily, I can do it with a single finger, your test of gauging whether a gun is unsafe by how easy it unlocks is pretty stupid because the action of physically causing it to unlock and it unlocking under firing circumstances are totally different

>keep running in circles
You're right here with me, man
>VP9 was made to do that
Why is unlocking easily a feature, exactly?

>unlocking by hand and firing are different!
Yeah, they are, I'm not saying they're not

the second one has several thousand PSI being exerted by burning powder and hot gas, so I use the first one as a test

the entire M&P series has had early unlocking issues, the shields are no different
>>
>>27777210
Some m&ps had issues with their springs and this was a few years ago, those issues have been fixed, and shields aren't having issues in the number that m&ps did, you aren't misleading anyone here chap

The only thing I hate about the LC9s is that the slide release doesn't actually release the slide, and mags are fucking expensive and hard to find. I hope yours is the Pro because safeties and mag disconnects on carry guns suck.
