Hey /k/ommandos, I was thinking about going plinking up in the mountains soon. I have this model and .177 cal pointed lead pellets. I'm also pretty poor with weapons, this has been what I've really been learning on, so do you guys have any tips on cleaning or good targets for practice?
>>
I never cleaned my air guns but I'd imagine that there's a wikihow. As for targets try cans and beer bottles, just make sure to clean up. Depending on your fps, squirrels and rabbits are good eatin' and good shootin'
>>
Also I've been considering going innawoods for a weekend with a couple buddies and was wondering if this is enough to spook off or kill a real threat. I have bears, pumas, and plenty o' big deer in my area.

All right, thanks. Any ideas on what I should get when I've "graduated" from a Daisy? I was thinking a Marlin 60.
>>
>>27556756
Marlin 60 is perfect, it was my first "real" rifle as well. Alternatively, the 10/22 is better for aftermarket mods but IMO the 60 has a better feel. Probably nostalgia
>>
>>27556720
It wouldn't be useful for self defense
>>
>>27556837
I figured as much, just hopefully ignorant I suppose. My dad has a couple of hand guns I've used a bit before. Maybe I could ask to borrow them? He has a S&W Snubnose 642. How good would that be for defense?
>>
>>27556871
637* not 642, my bad.
>>
>>27556871
>>27556884
really anything over a .22 will fuck shit up
>>
>>27556996
Okay good. Thanks for the help mate, good on you. I'll be off now.

>>27557011
have a nice trip,
cheers mate

On improvement, look into marksmanship fundamentals and focus on them in your practice. As you get better, push out your practice distance. If you're wobbling all over the place, maybe get a sling and practice shooting offhand a whole lot (you'll perform the worst shooting offhand if that's the case, but it'll be exercise and you'll shake less eventually).
