My Grandpa was conscripted in 1936 for mandatory work called Reichsarbeitsdienst he was conscripted into the Wehrmacht, 170th infantry Division. He believed the massive Propaganda he grew up with it and nobody criticsed it out of fear. At first he fought for the great leader and for facism,but later on in the war after witnissing huge camps for russian Pows were they were held in horrible condition he slowly changed his mind but he didnt stop fighting, he simply changed his View, he was fighting for he Guy next to him, if he escaped from his position his comrades might be killed by the enemy aprroaching from the side.

He was captured 1944 and had to eat Rats during the time he was held cpative in russian Pow Camps. he camp back to Germany 1950, out of his 8 siblings there were only 3 left his Father died and he did never got word of this.
