It's like you're playing flight sims with prettier graphics and less interactivity.

>>23410252
holy crap it looks like you'd need a degree just to get the damn engines started
>>23410832
Nah, it's quite simple if you're skipping the "mandatory" tests. Just turn on the electrical systems and fuel pump, set engine feed to norm, then hit the jet starter and move the throttle to the idle position.
>>23410832
I'm pretty sure you actually do need a degree to get the engines started
>>23410898
Takes me back to ramp starts in Falcon 4.0:AF
>>23410898
it still warps my mind that you have so much to keep track of in addition to the asshole trying to shoot you down
>>23410252
Very outdated
F-16 cockpits haven't looked like that in years.
Still pretty cool though
>>23410979
>Museums have old models
Look at this genius. Thank God we have you around to point these things out.
>>23410990
Something bothering you friend? Would you like to talk about it? Is mom not buying you the new toy all your buddy's are playing with?
>>23410252
Whats this button do.....
>>23411101
For correcting errors in the Heading and Attitude Reference System. Just level the aircraft and hold the button down until the indicators are aligned.
>>23410252
God this shit looks so complex
>>23410278
how do you see?
>>23411358
by not being 2 feet tall
>>23411289
Glass cockpits are way comfier. Almost looks like something you could handle.
>>23411621
fuck that, id rather the buttons youre gonna muscle memory anyway due to your 100hrs req flight time instead of trying to outmanuver and poke at a touchscreen
>>23411671
Or you could use the voice recognition and cash in on the muscle memory of your phonemes.
>>23411686
that sounds fine and dandy, but talking while trying to kill something usually ends in your death.
>inb4 hate
source is my 100+hrs of CPL CS:S gameplay
>>23411686
>>23411696
It's kinda hard to speak in excess of 2 Gs
>>23411621
Aww hell fuck that I want fucking buttons everywhere.
>>23411621
Typhoon cockpit is pretty neat.
>>23412110
Goddamn
Everything about that plane, totally arouses me.
Fucking thanks /k/, now I want to be an air force pilot. What are the requirements anyway?
>>23412335
Good vision. Manlet.
>>23412335
Can't be tall
Good eyesight
Normal physical and mental testing standards
>>23412497
>>23412861
5'6"
Fairly fit and mentally sound.
My vision isn't 20/20 though. I dont need to wear glasses to see, but they help sometimes. Does that count me out?
>>23412961
Vision requirements are 20/40 correctable to 20/20.
LASIK and PRK are approved corrective surgeries for the navy and air force, and waivers are fairly easy to come by for those surgeries.
>>23413030
Thanks /k/. I am now mildly interested in joining the air force.
>>23413030
>>23412335
>>23412861
what about a helicopter pilot in the army/marines?
>>23410252
HOLY SHIT I CAN TURN MY HEAD 360 DEGREES AND NOT DIE
>>23410832
You need a degree to get in the cockpit, bub. The AF doesn't let just anyone fly these things.

Dcs a10c is /k/ approved. Have a look
On the subject of simulators, is there a submarine game that is more autistic/detailed? I've been looking for one and have yet to find one that fulfills my requirements
>>23413180
>>basic
>>44minutes video
>>23412335
My old foreman has a nephew thats a pilot for the navy, you have to be a goddamn genius to get into those programs. Plus its alot of classroom. I mean a metric fuck ton of classroom before you even get inside a plane
Gripen
Mirage III
Rafale

>tfw i will never know the answer to this question
>>23413408
I want to know what the Peace/War switch does.
>>23411621
That mock op always cracks me up... a few switches covered up or just out of frame.
>>23413435
switches between one-frequency-communications to frequency-hopping mode.
>>23413087
Marine is the same as navy + marines pt score. And you have to go through TPS, which is like infantry school for officers
