Don was a bit off on this one, the marines would just wear a normal sack coat if fighting ashore. The blouse in the picture would have been too damn hot (the blouses would usually have substantial wool padding)

OP is the Spanish Blue Division, not even Nazis
What a liberal pleb

And they would wear the regulation blue pants, the white "ice cream" pants shown in the picture would only be worn as a dress uniform

>Garrison's heroic defence. Artist V. Pamfilov
Battle of 13 border guards with a Finnish detachment in the night from the 24th to the 25th of January 1940 at the border of the Murmansk province. In the aftermath of the battle 11 border guards were killed, 2 were severely wounded. Private Alexander Spekov, whom the Finns attempted to take prisoner, blew himself up with a handgrenade when the enemies approached him.

nuclear thermal rockets don't give off radiation. At least no more than a typically reactor. If they can fit properly shielded reactors on submarines, there's no reason they cant put one in an aircraft.
>>23011385
Special Forces, maybe. Pathfinders are using it now. This image is probably based in the Gulf War, or Op Telic. They're issued Snatch's and are still wearing desert DPM, this implies that they should be using SA80's.

>If they can fit properly shielded reactors on submarines, there's no reason they cant put one in an aircraft.
Yes there is. Weight.
They weigh 650 tonnes at least, including shielding.
What size of plane can lift that and can the reactor still generate the lift for it.
The weight/lift ratio of nuclear air propulsion has never reached successful for aircraft.
>>23011503
>>23011536
>>23011504
planes do not lift from the thrust of their engines. iirc it took till after WW2 to get a plane with a thrust to weight ratio of greater than 1, which would be necessary to get all the lift you need from an engine. Planes get their lift from their wings.
>>23011538
I'm not sure why but that head in the sky mae me chuckle a bit.
>>23006017
That's not a saber, it's some kind of indigenous blade design that's actually pretty nifty and is still issued to PLA units. I wish i could remember the name of it but it's pretty badass, almost like an orc's cleaver or something.
>>23011385
more like this?
>>23011425
From the wiki page
> Pneumatic motors necessary to control the reactor in flight had to operate while red-hot and in the presence of intense radiation.
> In order to reach ramjet speed, it would be launched from the ground by a cluster of conventional rocket boosters. Once it reached cruising altitude and was far away from populated areas, the nuclear reactor would be made critical.
