Normally I would agree, but with Umineko it's different, since it feels like something that was specifically made to be enjoyed multiple times. I find LP's to be a great way to go through the series again, seeing things from someone else's perspective while simultaneously noticing things I hadn't seen before. The comments section is also a good place to discuss things. There's even a coding system in use that allows the viewers to discuss foreshadowing and other spoiler related things they notice without spoiling the reader.

It's sort of like how Featherine was able to enjoy seeing Ange's reactions to her story. LP'ers are like mikos for those who have already finished the series.

There was that one part in Episode 8 during the banquet where Lambda mentions the cake fractions puzzle Keiichi tricked Satoko with during zombie tag. Bern then appears and remarks that Lambda was once tricked by that question back when she was still human. It could have just been one of Ryukishi's usual shout-outs though and not something to be taken seriously.

I love how Lambda and Bern essentially switch roles over the course of the series. Lambda starts out as the insane one who acts as the bigger bad manipulating Beato, while Bern is the more reasonable and calm one who’s mostly neutral but will occasionally lend the reader her help.

Then by the end of the series Bern turns out to be just as cruel and petty as she initially claimed to be back in Episode 1, acting as a main villain behind Erika. Lambda on the other hand becomes the more reasonable of the two, still a twisted and cruel person but someone who is always fair and even helpful at times.

I don't know. I've heard so many things allegedly said by Ryukishi that it's hard to keep track of which ones are actually true and which are just rumors that got passed around until everyone believed them. Is there a collection of all Ryukishi's interviews somewhere out there?

Bern seems more petty and spiteful to me, which gives her a greater capacity for acts of cruelty. I do think Lambda is every bit as broken as her though, and just hides it better. Not necessarily. Featherine has shown that she's not above retconning things. Even if Lambda was also born from Higurashi, Featherine could have just changed the scenario so that she was backing Takano from the start.

In Episode 6 Lambda mentioned how Bern’s master (Featherine) hadn’t thought a solution to the logic error she was trapped in, and had left even the thinking up to her. This may sound dumb, and honestly even I don't put much faith in it, but what if Featherine didn't have a culprit in mind when she started making Higurashi? Lambda came into existence after Satoko was saved in Minagoroshi-hen. Afterwards, Frederika Bernkastel came up with a valid solution to the story in which Takano was the mastermind behind the crimes, using things like the Yamainu and Hinamizawa syndrome to explain any plotholes. Featherine accepted this development and rewrote things so that Rika could finally survive and the logic error was fixed.

Whenever any mysteries come up, he gets so focused on solving them he stops giving a shit about any of the emotional aspects of the story. He spent almost the entirety of Episode 2's second half like this, going along with Rosa's line of thinking. He showed no reaction to things like Kanon getting blamed for Jessica's murder, Genji being forced to give up his keys, or Battler's identity being questioned once a letter appeared.

He’s also got a bad habit where he stops thinking as soon as he comes up with a single possible explanation and becomes completely convinced that it’s the right answer.

Almost finished Higurashi, just got done with Saikoroshi-hen.
Was Hanyuu splitting Rika and Bernkastel in this scene? Sure sounds like it was implied, especially since Hanyuu says just a few scenes later that she now won't be lonely even after Rika dies. The little Umineko character cards with moves and powers outlining a boardgame? He was the artist of that. I was enthralled by the idea and contacted him.

But then he never answered, and then he posted a post on a tumblr I didn't even know existed (the Tumblr of An Autistic Gay Asperger, that was the title) basically saying: 'I have depression and I can't manage when people contact me! What could have been! Oh, I wanted that gaem! What didn't I answer to his email!'.

Between a post titled "I'm gay and depressed :(" and another "Umineko is for gay autistic people!".

And yet, I contacted him AGAIN. And he didn't answer.

Fuck. So much lost potential. I'm fucking angry now.
