What is so special about the The Police song -
"Every Breath You Take" - that Japanese would translate the name of the song in the Japanese release of the album?
>見つめていたい
Is it common to translate names of foreign songs or albums when they are published in Jp, even if the lyrics are not translated and not re-sung?
That song is one of the worst by The Police.
King of Pain is the best song.

1. not that many singers are proficient enough to re-record in multiple languages anyway, besides the cost would be exorbitant to the record company.
2. It was tried in Europe in the 1960s, notably by The Beatles; who had picked up enough German to make it a reasonable proposition for the record company; however the market favoured the English original by something like 2-3:1. This approach tapered off by the 1970s and the only artists that had made attempts in Japanese that I can recall off-hand were David Bowie and a phonetic recording by Queen during that time.
