I remember someone wasn't even rude about not liking it and someone, probably the translator, completely went off and made a long post saying something along the lines that they should be grateful NTY exists because it's the only BL game worth playing and everything else is shit. Was around the time the tler vanished too.

Honestly the game isn't bad but it's not some unique trope-averting addition to the genre either like it was hyped. It's pretty much normal BL game writing but with a seme MC and a few more sex scenes than usual, and even then its not the first of its kind.

Development on the japanese side seems to have died down and I've decided to mod it.
There are few changes so far because I haven't started modding the commands but I've uploaded this version since it's a clean vanilla+. A lot of the backstories for the characters is pretty edgy/sad. For example, Midori has depression and he constantly says he wants to die, Hajime has social anxiety and is poor, Leo was a NEET for half a year, someone who loved Arashi committed suicide and Arashi feels guilt over it, etc. etc. etc.

Not a single character has a "happy" backstory and the entire appeal of the game is just that. In fact, you're told very early on in the game that enstars isn't your typical happy idol game and the characters in it have fucked up pasts.

You can argue almost every character in the game has some sort of mental illness.

I like it despite how hard the writing tries to be edgy and out there (if you read through some of the even stories, some of the shit you find out is pretty fucked up). That being said I love the game.

I'm very deep in the hole and hence biased but I love it. Cute boys, cute girls, satisfying gameplay, nice main story, monthly new side story events and regular new and rerun game content. It's also very f2p friendly and they give away substantial gifts multiple times through the year.
The big downside is that it's a massive grindy timesink. If you can get yourself to play it very casually that's probably the best experience, but seeing BIG NUMBERS and wanting to progress more can get addictive.

Right now is a great time to check it out if you're interested; they're giving away tons of freebies for the summer celebration. We're in the middle of a week of free daily gacha 10 rolls at the moment.

It's not only the usual gacha hell but also grinding hell. In order to do notable damage to anything you have to grind your ass off on the same bosses for an eternity, praying they'll drop the right weapon for you, and then do that 4 times for the weapon to uncap it, and then you do THAT 6 more times to fill up a grid of weapons partially, and you fill up the rest of the grid with other weapons you need to grind for. And that's just for one element. If you want a good team for each element you need to do the above 5 more times, on top of praying for good gacha characters of course. Though on the waifu/husbando front there is indeed something for everybody.

Finished the first three Collar Malice routes.
It's pretty interesting and fun, but damn, the routes feel so different. Pretty sure they all were written by different people.
And I wish the common route was longer. It's annoying to always start back when they hardly knew each other. Plus,

By the way, Takeru is not my favorite, but his route way by far the best out of the three I played.
Enrio's was the worst, the ending was way too sudden and not satisfying at all. But it had nice family bonding with Ichika, her brother and Enrio.
Kei's route had almost no sibling bonding and no friendship fun time with the two girls, a bit too long drawn out drama and MC being stupid, but otherwise was good as well.
