What sorta of music do 2hus listen?

Music and fun didn't exist in old Japan

Patchouli listens to hip-hop and stuff

Gensokyo no doubt has traditional musicians running about.
The Prismrivers play what can only be assumed to be something akin to classical music with their instruments.
Punk Rock exists and has a small underground scene.
Music from the outside world tends to seep into Gensokyo, and FM synthesis was popular enough for a time to have a band that performed music in the style, which Akyuu was a fan of.

The question of electricity in Gensokyo is weird. For example, Kosuzu's bookstore still uses a woodblock printing press and a kerosene lamp (though I recall in a recent comic there was an electric one). However, there is also a fully functional phonograph (which requires electricity) present.

In any case, it's either magical or they bought it secondhand from Rinnosuke because I doubt the kappa makes amps.

Electricity exists in Gensokyo I'm pretty sure.

As for musical styles, well:
Reimu, I would imagine, likes to listen to relaxing music, like jazz or quiet music; she just likes relaxing and lying around, so that's kind of obvious.
Marisa would be the kind of person I wouldn't be surprised to see listening to heavy metal. If not heavy metal, then dubstep/electronic.
Sanae probably just listens to shitty anime OPs all the time because she's literally ZUN's version of a Weeb self insert. And she would have her phone, yes; probably the first thing she would do is go talk to the kappa or something.
Sakuya and the Scarlet Sisters probably prefer classical over anything else; Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mozart, etc. Also included in that list would probably be Alice, considering that if she actually is equivalent to Alice in Wonderland she probably came from Britain with a noble family before being transported to Makai.
Youmu probably listens to ancient traditional Japanese music; especially if there's some way for Hakugyokurou to give the artists that live with Yuyuko to practice their craft. The residents of Eientei, the Human Village, the Tengu Village, all of the other gods, and the Bamboo Forest of the Lost probably listen to similar music to Youmu.
Byakuren probably has some kind of hymn her church does. As for Miko, she listens to pretty much everything, while her followers probably just listen to traditional Japanese music occasionally.
Finally, the rest of the Youkai in Gensokyo (outside of the more cultured ones) probably listen to the Prismrivers, Mystia, Kyoko and Raiko. And the Tsukumos.

Well the kappa are regularly shown using electricity, and their technology can show up in the village. I also remember when Kanako was discussing alternatives to nuclear power for the their giant robot she suggested electricity and steam, so at the very least we know they probably have potential access to electrical power generation on a large scale, even without the dam they were unable to finish. The extent to which places outside the Kappa hideout are electrified is not really clear but electrification was historically a pretty slow process, and for a while it was more expensive than steam, gas, and man power. It's also possible the tengu have acces if small electronics like Hatate's phone aren't magic-powered, though they might also get it from the kappa, maybe in some Youkai Mountain power grid or something. Nobody really seems to be surprised when they see electrics though, so I'd expect there to just be a lack of demand for it among most of the inhabitants, or a prohibition of general electrification by Reimu or Yukari or something, since the Kappa would jump at the opportunity to sell it to the humans. There have been many places lacking power in the developed world well into the last century, and Japan lagged behind in that respect. Nobody really seems to be in dire need for electricity anyways.

Also the phonograph might be one of the old spring-loaded wind-up ones.

that's some nice bullshit headcanon you got there bud

Yukari has a cell phone and a TV, too, though they definitely aren't just normal electronics.
>>
>>17320279
yukari is possibly from the future so it's probably some techno shit

who'd listen to eurobeat?

Eurobeat is derived from italodisco which is a European thing.
disco-italodisco-eurobeat in europe
hecatia recently visited Japan and a lot of Eurobeat artists are Italian (Hecatia has a roman equivalent/cover name) not to mention it's marketed towards Japanese people, she might make it for disco and deriatives.

So what kind of Eurobeat? DiGiTAL WiNG? A-One? Elementas?

depends on the character
SEB for Heca because she's european

Kanako listens to the thrum of the reactor, fearfully anticipating the day Okuu really loses control. Also the pleasing sound of Suwako's shameful attempt to get Sanae a record deal that one time.

Right? I still love Koto Inari, but aside from the dark themes that keep getting darker, I am getting a bit tired of the overly cartoony/simplistic faces of his girls. They don't even resemble human features anymore, just midget things.

Clownpiece and Hecatia listen to American military marches and patriotic heartland music
>>
>>17324798
Hecatia and Clownpiece are Greek, so their music should actually be contemporary Greek stuff mixed in with the really old stuff to remind Hecatia of the good old times around Olympus.

>>17321318
The phonograph depicted lacks a crank.
>>
>>17318719
Sanae listens to Jam Project.
>>
>>17324908
Considering how modern Heca is she might just listen to anything western.
>>
>>17319558
Kanako has mentioned energy before. Like how it's all borrowed from outside, which is why she's doing stuff like building dams, mills, and nuclear reactors.
>>
I think Reimu wouldn't listen to music at all. She seems more like to listen to the rustling of leaves and falling asleep in gentle winds.

She also seems irritable and I bet she'd consider any music useless noise.

Which Touhou listens to their own theme the most?
