Lots of rain in Fukuoka, causing landslides and flooding.
Also lightning storms.

Tectonic plates shifting
How does Japan put up with this shit
if I were in ONE flood and lost my house and belongings, I'd set for higher ground and never look back.
Yet every year, multiple times, entire towns rebuild themselves.

I thought japan had good infrastructure even in the rural areas.

Yeah, tectonic plates are responsible for the rain.
>>17284234
Japan doesn't have good infrastructure, period. Maybe compared to the US and UK, but not compared to any Western Europe country.
I like this turn of events.

While the tectonic plates might not affect the rain itself, they do affect the geology and geography that lead to things like mudslides and catastrophic flooding.

One could argue that shifting land masses have a butterfly effect: changes in air currents and beyond them, weather systems.

That's not as much an argument as commonly accepted fact

I think it's amazing how the top picture is more zoomed out and catches more of the area in the pictures while the lower one is from a slightly different position and technically catches less but the area still feels several times bigger because the land structures are mostly gone. It's great how that perception changes.
