I've used adblocking addons for years but still kinda sad to hear they're gone for good. I remember their shit running all the way back a decade ago at least. They were also a reliable (if a bit overpriced) place to get some items that I was too lazy to get a proxy for.

Most of the traffic of 4chan is from /b/ and /pol/ and those "people" click on these kinds of ads, not j-list.

Why are they leaving?

I didn't use adblock when the J list advertisements were here - I don't know whether money was made based on views or clicks but I'd occasionally misclick onto the advertisement. Since they got replaced with garbage though I've been using it. The presence of advertisements and fuckery with adblockers on gelbooru though is rather annoying, made me move to pixiv which I find much more enjoyable.
