Any one going to the show tonight?
>>17213949
Nah, tomorrow though.
>>17213949
>>17214012
I've never been to a show as a constantly working poorfag. But what is the sense of the types of people going to BM shows? How much of it is made up of kids, weeaboos, oldschool metalheads, millennial metalheads, ironic hipsters, or normies?
>>17214048
All of the above. No one really cares though as they're all their to have a good time. Hope to see you soon!
>>17214048
Depends on the country and how early you show up, but generally a bit of everyone. Metalheads and weebs make up the majority, with more weebs in the US and more metalheads (especially oldschool) in Europe, UK particularly. The later you come in and the further down the line, the more normies you'll meet. But as the other anon said everyone is there to have a good time, so don't be an autist, talk to people and make friends, if only to have someone keep your spot in line when you go get food and take a piss.
>>17214130
I'd have to go alone and make friends at the show since none of my friends are into BM. My friends do know, but I pass it off as "oh, I just think it's entertaining and liek randum," without revealing my power level.
>>17214224
That's what I'm saying. You don't have to worry about power level, especially early in the line. It will actually be strange trying to hide it there. At each one of the ~10 shows I've seen between US and EU I've always had top fun hanging out with people all day. It's mostly the same people I meet now, but even if it's your first you'll still be good, just don't be a stranger and talk to people. Even the Japanese are really chill and friendly.
QUALITY
If anyone plays gita, these things have gone down in price. I got mine a few months ago when it was $1,700, but now you can find one new for a few hundred less on ebay.
>>17215128
Sweet, but I don't think I'd buy the Mini at more than assmart's retail price (what was it, $700-ish?), much less play on it.
Still eyeing the full-size BM Arrow, but I'm forever too poor.
>>17215220
That one is a glorious beast, but yeah, the price and I also already have a 7-string. Like my 7-string, that one locks at both the neck and the bridge and has fine tuners, which is such a wonderful thing to have. The hard case that comes with that arrow is the tits.
It will be a year until I get my mini payed off. It's basic and works for fandom collector's purposes.

Nice. What gitas do you have anon? I only have one poorfag Ibanez RG that I can barely play Breaking the Law and a couple other things on. I should really be practising way more than like an hour a week, but after hitting a wall I got demotivated and depressed, was pretty busy with real life recently too.
>>17215553
Yeah, mine's an Ibanez RG as well. Got it in 2001 or something during Korn's hay day, so connect the dots. It's very high end and nice. Here's my babies.
Thread needs more Boyz.
>>17215615
Oh shit that's neat. Is it 7420 or 7620? I'm jelly, mines a plebeian 120. Had it for a little over a year, made some progress with it but then it fizzled out. I couldn't tell if I'm shit with it because I'm shit or the gita's shit. And I don't feel like spending more than half its value on bringing it to a luthier. But knowing there's another anon who plays itt makes me feel motivated again.
>>17216247
Best boy, best twitter troll.
>>17216303
7420. I might say don't take it to a luthier. Just save up for a new one. Browse guitar shops, hold them and mess around with them. Sometimes, you hold a guitar that just feels right and is just fun to play. If a guitar just naturally clicks with you, you'll keep wanting to jam on it and you'll just become a better player naturally with time. What gives a guitar a good feel is a mystery as it depends on the person, but if the guitar doesn't have a good feel, playing it becomes a chore.
The Korn LA crowd was weak. Even for korn themselves. Really brought down my spirit. Great performance by the metas as always. Wish they headlined more shows
>>17216457
Quite amazing how the exact same city they just played in can be weak. I guess casuals didn't realize Babymetal is playing
>>17216117
>>17216467
I just want a fun crowd like the palladium again. Please koba make it happen
>>17216515
You gotta wait for another headline/oneman show. I haven't been to a single one where the crowd wasn't top fun.
Tharan
>>17216457
The crowd was fine for what it was. There were pockets of high energy which were great. Korn played a lot off their new album and a couple deep tracks that most people don't know. For the big songs there was a lot of energy. Same for Stonesour who was hyping their new album. Limiting Babymetal to 6 songs was a travesty though and I can't recommend going just to see them for that reason.
>>17216578
Happy times. :3
>>17216355
>I might say don't take it to a luthier. Just save up for a new one.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But I need to get my game up first on the current one so I don't just fumble around like an idiot in the store. Guitar stores are pretty intimidating when you can't play for shit.
>>17216469
What is the purpose of that plate OVER the strings where the pickups are?
>>17218037
I don't think anyone knows.
>>17216829
Pockets of energy. You see that's a problem. Maybe I'm dating myself but there was a time the entire ground floor would bounce to a band like korn. Especially for how close I was. I don't mind paying to see BM play 6 songs >>17217933

>mfw I don't give half a fuck about Korn
>mfw I don't even know any of their songs
I'll give them a chance, but I'll probably leave after a few songs to avoid the traffic, unless they really wow me. Not hating them btw, just really not my thing and style.
>>17218259
I planned and did the exact same thing
Stone Sour isn't Slipknot but Corey Taylor is a marquee name and worth seeing imo.
Korn may as well have played 70% old songs because I didn't know most of their stuff they played, nobody is looking for Korn music after like 2003, people were moshing and I jumped some but it was mainly the music being loud as fuck that fools you into thinking it's hype
>>17218251
Ah yes, thumb play.
>>17218251
>>17218288
It's not a requirement if you want to play in that style. You can accomplish it with enough practice by just having your wrist float above the pickups. Not that I'm any authority as BOH knows what he's doing.

>le fox god did it
Yeah, the girls totally love having to read from his Disney script instead of telling the truth.
I don't see babymetal as a group within the next 5 years. They'll probably break up and just sign Su for a rock solo career.
>>17246764
Honestly, I hope it ends soon on a high note rather than have it drug out for too long and have it end on a whimper.
>>17246974
Also we have definitive proof the interviews are super tightly controlled from the times interviewers have complained about it. There was one or two where it opened up with the interviewer saying the girls would be in character and not themselves. Compare that with their time in Sakura Gakuin and on LoGiRL when they could say whatever silly thing popped into their head, something actually encouraged by Mori. Also that needs a webm for the full effect with Su's glance to Koba as the fake enthusiasm falls from her face.

>>17246764
Metas are not like other pop idols, they don't expire in their early 20s. Su is nearly 20 now and is only getting more perfect with every moment. They have reached a certain point and I won't be surprised with changes, but every time we thought they have reached their peak they managed to outdo themselves and surprise us. Remember that a 3rd album is in the works.
>>17247054
Babymetal are not Sakura Gakuin. They are not Jpop idols. They have a different image and strategy now, and a large if not the biggest part of their target audience now is overseas and has no clue about idol stuff.
You may not like the change, but Heavy Music Club is the past, and Babymetal is the present as of at least 4 years and 3 months ago now. Please understand.
>>17247514
Tfw Japan will get a debut of stuff from the new album and we get thrown a bone with FDTD
>>17247446
>75% Babymetal and 25%SG
>that's why we made this thread...?
Metas dominate the threads and thoughts because they are beloved and always have been. The only reason for this thread's existence that I can see is to get away from Koba bashing, which is really pathetic. You guys miscalculated. Mostly they aren't sick and tired of BM, they're sick and tired of Koba to some degree. By the way, that will come over here in full if it becomes SG only, which I think some of you are oddly pushing for.
>>17247514
It didn't change to how it is presently four years ago. It has been a gradual slide from lots of fun on all fronts to maybe you'll get a funny interview once in a great while. It would be bearable if they were allowed to have a separate public life as themselves, but they can't. We're stuck watching them play these characters for the foreseeable future, and so far this year, we barely even get that. Even the Kamis were slapped with a gag order. What metal band doesn't allow its members to talk about the band?
>IKTF.
>>17247745

>The only reason for this thread's existence that I can see is to get away from Koba bashing, which is really pathetic. You guys miscalculated. Mostly they aren't sick and tired of BM, they're sick and tired of Koba to some degree.
Koba is now a memeword that stands for "I hate how BM is now because it's no longer like SG-subunit BM was". It's just deluded clinging to the past and being an annoying fuck about it to anyone who wants to enjoy the current BM. Can't blame people for getting fed up with it.
>>17247732
Not saying it wasn't a gradual change, but still a relatively quick one, especially if you followed them since DDM. Suzuka's graduation is just the most logical cut-off point. We get new types of fun now, like calls and responses during songs, or random live collabs. Of course, people who still cling to the past when Metas were 10% Metas and 90% Gakus will not like it, but that's their problem and their choice to live in the past.
>What metal band doesn't allow its members to talk about the band?
Babymetal doesn't. Love it or leave it.
>>17247795
I enjoy the current BM, which is why getting less and less of it isn't exactly my cup of tea. I mean, if you want less BM, that's weird.
>Love it or leave it.
How about no? How about we're allowed to criticize what we love?
>>17247795
That's not how 4chan works. You can't wall off opinions you don't like, no matter how many new threads you run to. RHCP tour and collab was the only fun one. Korn was shit, Memetallica was boring, so was GnR. If "current BM" is a memephrase for "these random live collabs," then it has become 10% fun, 90% boring. Babymetal last year was at least doing many cute and funny interviews in between sold out headline shows. 2017 is boring seated arena nu-metal.
>>17247831
>How about no? How about we're allowed to criticize what we love?
Because this horse has been beaten to death literal years (YEARS) ago and no amount of whinging on anonymous andalusian fox breeding picture bulletin board will ever reach Koba/Amuse and make them change their business strategy. It's really bloody tiresome to read the same tired old shit every thread over.

I'm happy they are performing with even bigger names, in front of potentially hostile audiences, and every time coming out victorious. 2017 has been a satisfying year so far and I'm sure with the Big Fox Festival the ride will only pick up more speed.
Judas Priest was absolute fucking cringe. Thank god Koba realized the guitars were a shit idea and never attempted it again, but he still had them play Judas Priest with RHCP which was out of place and Su's Engrish was given center stage with no baldy to cover for her. Though if that Kornfag had his guitar unplugged... Who decided that?

You know what horse has also been beaten to death?Babymetal.Kidding. No. All the can-do-no-wrong praise Babymetal gets all over the internet from its fanbase. And you want to do that here too? You don't think that's tiresome? I think maybe part of that is everyone knows Amuse doesn't care about some picture bulletin board, so they vent their frustrations out of sight. It's not about getting them to change, it's just sharing opinions. Everyone tweeting or posting about Babymetal in their Amuse-watched, curated safe spaces is full of praise and nothing but.
>moa and yui leave the group
>good we didn't need them anyway, su never liked them, she was held back by them
>su leaves
>the kamiband was held back by them!
>kami's leave
>at least we have the babybones back! thanks koba, you wise master

Koba is the DNA that mutated and became cancer.

I don't care. It was the same with MR. One new song on the west, 4 in Japan.
Japan is where the cash flows and that's why they are getting 7 solo shows plus festivals while we got 1 solo and lots of 30 min plays.
And they will be interviewed with smiles and fun while here, zero.

It would have been an excellent idea if they put enough practice into it to be actually legit. It was still fun for the fun's sake and gave us the happiest Moa we've ever seen. I'm still hoping for a return of gitas, hopefully they are putting at least a solid 2 hours into them every day.
