Why do people like to portray Marisa as some southern droller?
>>17184952
It's a bad attempt at translating her masculine speech patterns.
ぜ
because of her hat
>>17184952
It's because translation is bad and you should just learn Japanese already.
>>17185160
You can't learn Japanese.

Please go back to /a/ and take your stupid memes with you.
zeeeeeee
>>17186861
That's a /jp/ meme though.
>>17186946
You're wrong, scum. I spend every hour of every day browsing /jp/ and I know for a fact that nobody said that phrase until that stupid general got moved here from /a/.
Now, please kindly go back there. You can learn Japanese.

That thread only got kicked off /a/ a few months ago. I'm going to have to revoke your shitposting license.
>>17187281
Alas, I am defeated. I guess if a few crossboarders shitpost something a couple times a year then it gets to be protected /jp/ heritage. I concede to you, W-spelunker-san.

Translation literally never. Don't bother waiting. FocasLens might or not make a new expansion sooner or lated for the newer characters. So whoever is left translating is going to have to start from 0 again.
Anyway, you are not missing or much, the main story is barely different, you just have a new fetch quest with Suzunaan books to move the story forward.
Anyway, if you are that desperate you could use Visual Novel Reader. But don't expect much, it still is machine translation after all and names tend to get fucked up.

I remember that someone had translated all the battle parts, do you know who?
>>17184952
It's not southern, but Marisa talks funny. It would be bad in and of itself to not emulate that in translation.
They should translate Marisa's dialogue so that she sounds like a chav.
>>17184952
It is only acceptable to translate a Japanese line into southern accent if the character speaks in Kansai dialogue.
Marisa didn't speak like one.
>>17185090
There really are no masculin speach patterns in english. Giving her a Texan accent seems like a good way to try to get close to a masculin voice. Without really changing her character.
But you guys will never be happy woth any kind of localization, you allways act like the smallest changes is completely re-inventing the character.
>>17200596
That'd be hot.
>>17200574
It's far more preferable to not translate a speech quirk than to localize it into something that's completely different.
>>17200680
A Texan accent wouldn't be great either, as it's not inherently masculinity. The best way to convey Marisa's boyish way of speaking would be to simply convey it in her word choice, rather than making everything into a contraction. Now, mind you, contractions aren't something that she can't use, but overuse of them is just a lazy attempt at making her sound rougher and less formal, and it only results in making her sound like she has a weird regional dialect.
If she absolutely had to be given a regional dialect to appease those who are obsessed with cleanly translating her dialogue, the only think that I can really think of that might work would be a Brooklyn accent, if only because that conveys a rude, boyish tone somewhat. Even then, overusing that accent would result in an obnoxious to read script, so I would be careful in doing that.

The best (worst) part about the tumblrinas squatting on the translation is that nobody else is going to pick up the project because that group refuses to give up and say thiings have fallen apart.
At this rate it'd be faster to learn Japanese and coding from scratch and then do it all by myself, but in addition to the possible new expac that'd require getting my hands on the pre-existing translation work so I don't waste time and -

oh, okay.
