I was about to give up, and said to myself "one more try" and I got it, my first Hard mode 1cc! I've been playing 2 hours per day for a week. Now I should finish the IN chart and get a Marisa clear on TD, I failed like 2 times already near the end against Miko, sometimes I forget to use trance mode.

It happens when you clear a spell card in practice mode in a stage you haven't played before with that character. It's a bug.

I found some pixel sprite 2hus to decorate charts with because they fit the pixel-y aesthetic well, but they're lacking some of the newer ones. Does anyone know if the creators made ones for the newer 2hus?

charts don't need extra graphics, half the point was that they're relatively compact and direct

Old 2hous are the only good ones anyway, why the fuck would you want inferior newhous?
>>
>>17170320
Thank you for your opinion. I for one however think that they can add a little cuteness to the charts, provided they're used sparingly, of course. You don't have to use them if you don't want to. I just want to know if there were ones for newer characters available.
>>
>>17170382
My original plan was to have 1 sprite related to each game sitting on top of the game's name, but then the newer entries would be empty, which is why I asked.
Now that I think about it though it might make it look too crowded, so I'll probably scrap that plan anyway, but I'm still interested in whether or not newer ones are available.

I've had a tiny Mima on the corner of my chart for a while but I think if a player wants to decorate their chart they can do it however they want without needing any special resources.
Still haven't really progressed at EoSD hard. I might try bouncing between other games on hard to see if I'm just in a rut due to monotony.

After the Doremy midboss fight in LoLK's extra stage, she sometimes drops a bomb, but other times drops a 1up. What determines this?

I recently finished SA, was somehow able to do it even after dying some three times each on stages 4 and 5. Thinking about whether to take on UFO next or make an honest attempt at the original trilogy; tried them a while back and didn't care for them at all.

>>17169843
Are you doing things in any specific order? It seemed like you tried to do things in release order but temporarily skipped SA and UFO

>>17170776
I think the guy is saying that adding fluff like sprites detracts from the intent of keeping things minimalistic
>>

If you bomb/die on Creeping bullet, she'll drop a bomb, otherwise a 1up. If I recally correctly, Reisen losing a shield is fine, provided that you put the shields up before the spellcard starts.

Yes I played all of them in release order, did an Easy 1cc on SA and UFO, both are amazing games, but I'm really bad at them as they even gave me trouble on the easiest difficulty back then, so I was skipping the Normal 1cc on those for now. While I was busy with PCB and IN I've been trying on and off to 1cc DDC but Seija is just mind-breaking for me.
Congrats on your SA run, getting past Orin is one 'hell' of a job.

Thanks, man. I think if you were able to finish PCB on hard, you can totally do SA normal. Mods might not be your thing, but this helped me figure out the last few bosses; it's pretty much a glorified Spell Card Practice patch for SA.

Good luck with whatever you choose to go for next.

why does my EOSD crash whenever I day? Apart from being a good motivator to 1CC the game it is pretty annoying
>>
Is EOSD stage 5 made out of crushed dreams?
>>
>>17170925
I will check that mod out, thanks. About PCB.. I only got it because it's an easy game compared to the rest and still barely got the 1cc wasting all my lives and bombs, I'm not good enough for that difficulty level yet.

>>17171959
On most games except for IN and MoF Stage 5 was always the most challenging part of the run for me. I usually follow the pattern of not dying until I reach that stage, then poorly win that boss fight and face Stage 6 with a few lives/bombs left in stock. Doing good in Stage 5 determines whether I get the 1cc or not.
>>
What shot should I use going for my first 1cc in SA? I'm thinking Marisa C or Reimu A. Marisa C has a great survival bomb, though her shot power unfortunately seems low. Reimu A seems to have great shot power and an average bomb. Which would be more of a boon? Or are there other shot types I should consider? Suika's homing seems too weak to consider too seriously, and Alice, Aya and Patchy seem hard to use(and thus bad for survival by association).
>>
>>17171959
No, that's SA stage 5.
>>
>>17172378
Try them all; I'd say that only Suika doesn't have a particularly good gimmick, though she's not terrible either.
>Alice, Aya and Patchy seem hard to use
Alice just has a very short and weak bomb, but her shots are pretty strong, and she plays normally. With Aya, you have to keep your options pointing forward, which takes a bit of effort, but you get a top-tier bomb. With Patche, the shot-changing mechanic gives you a huge utility advantage and really isn't that hard to get used to. It's my favorite.
In any case, Yukari's warp gimmick will save your ass in stages 5 and 6, so I'd recommend it for a first clear.
>>
>>17172378
Yukari makes SA absolutely trivial.

I would say ReimuA, I found ReimuB to be very rookie-friendly though.

This chinese fangame called Phantasm Dream has a very weird option. You can choose a girl, a shottype but then you can also choose which bomb you wanna use apparently.
I wanted to add it to the chart but I don't know what to do about it, different bombs don't seem that much of a big deal to get their own rows

I tried Reimu B at a friend's behest and got it after a few tries and a couple hours(earlier today)of practice on stage 4-6 bosses. I figured I'd try Suika since I never seem to use(or know when to use)Yukari's border ability and I actually do use the auto collect ability.

And unfortunately I dunno what the fucking hell happened, but it looks like my replay got corrupted somehow. Upon reaching Utsuho, I died 5 times(and stupidly at that)to Atomic Fire "Nuclear Fusion", something that didn't happen, and the replay ends there. Fuck, I wanted to add it to my repertoire of 1cc replays. Is there a bug that can cause something like this to happen? I'm using the vsync patch if that matters.

Pic is Exhibit A.

It's just a desync. Sometimes they happen and to my knowledge there's not really anything you can do about it (though there are a few specific things that can cause a desync, sometimes it's completely random). Congrats on the 1cc though.
>>
>>17173293
Known issue, probably:
>The replay desynchronization bug from Mountain of Faith still exists. It usually occurs in full-game replays on Utsuho's first non-spell when the replay is started from stage 6 or fast-forward is used anytime after the start of stage 6. Starting playback from an earlier stage can prevent this, provided no fast-forwarding is done after stage 6 starts.

Honestly I don't think doing Normal would really help much, since most of the cards I die to are because of random bullets or are original cards not present in Normal. I generally just warm up by doing failed runs where I die before Stage 3, and when I get a good run going that's the one that gets me almost to the end.
And speaking of almost to the end, I managed this run just now. I could've kept going just for the sake of unlocked Stage 6 in spell practice but I think it's better to end it after that last death so I could save the replay.
I really fucked up during the stage portion of Stage 5 and died without bombing twice, I think I would've actually gotten the 1cc if I gave in and panic bombed during those sections.
http://replays.gensokyo.org/download.php?id=43422
If any anons are willing to watch the run and comment on what I need to focus on improving (I mean I need to improve my dodging skills in general obviously) that would be greatly appreciated.

Fucking hell. I made a super-optimized version of this chart >>17174325 in which each box is represented by one pixel, and they're laid out in a single row. Of course, it needs a description of how they're ordered, but fortunately both PNG and GIF provide ways to embed plaintext strings into files. Unfortunately, 4chan doesn't allow embedded text in either format, even if it perfectly complies with the standard, so I can't upload either version here because apparently it might be a virus or something. Fuck you, moot.
Anyway, since I can't actually upload the images themselves, this is a representation of the smalled possible version: a binary PBM, which has a constant size of 324 bytes regardless of which pixels are filled in.

Actually, under normal conditions Marisa C is the second-strongest shottype in the game. I don't know why it's such a common misconception that her damage is weak. Third strongest if you count unfocused Marisa A, but most people won't be unfocused under the boss regularly.
There's also a bunch of wierd positions you can do with Marisa B and a few other shottypes, but those really won't be getting used in normal play by ANYBODY.
>>
>>17174191
Medicine is ridiculously OP against the AI since they don't account for her slowdown. It really hurts them because the AI most typically dodges bullets at the last second, but her poison clouds makes it so those last-second dodges are poorly timed, and the bullet hits them anyway.

You also have the options of either using programs to reassign the key bindings so instead of using shift+Z+X you use (for example) J+I+O. It's what I personally do both because my keyboard has the same problem as yours and because I simply cannot get used to using anything but WASD to move. The other option would be to play with a gamepad or something.

Well, to be fair I was mostly taking note of apparent damage on Rin who has a tendency to move around all the god damn time which is problematic for straight shots. It still feels like Reimu A does more damage, though. Maybe she's the stronger shot type or something.

The Phantasmagoria games frustrate me more than usual. I think it's because enemies dying is largely based on whether they feel like it, so sometimes they hold out way longer than they should. Almost feels like they cheat sometimes.
>>
>>17182737
But you shouldn't worry about that, since you are not there to clear or win but rather to improve your dodging, don't you think?
>>
>>17182835
You're right.
But, I just did a near-full run (died to Eiki AGAIN because she's a fucking cunt who decides she wants to live for more than five minutes on the third round of the fight) and I remembered a more pressing reason for me not liking PoFV.
It fucking DESTROYS my hand. Constantly tapping the fire key fucking hurts like hell.
>>
I downloaded 15.5's demo but the frame rate is way too fast. How do I fix it?
>>
>>17182905
You can set up external autofire with a program like Autohotkey to just hold down the button like normal, and use a second button for using lv1 and lv2 attacks.
>>
>>17182905
Don't know about you but I used to have the same problem, turns our it was due not having a good support for my arms while playing; maybe changing positions may help you to not get so tired so fast, also check how many taps per second you need to keep your shooting on

That pursuit is easy when done with Ghost Team or Border Team, but well I do consider Stage 4 Boss to be a more difficult challenge than Reisen, you should aim to beat Marisa and leave that fight with 6 lives left, minimum 5, then do great against Reisen which is really easy to learn.
Kaguya shouldn't give you any trouble till you reach the last spell, you should reach Rainbow Danmaku with atleast 3 lives left and try to bomb before you get hit or else the death-bombing in IN takes away two bombs out of your stock.
>>
>>17204630
Yeah, Kaguya wasn't that difficult for being my first time against her (it helped that I play in slow mode), it was the fact that I had only 2 lives left what fucked me.

Just got my first clear with Marisa on TD while taking a break from the IN chart, I've been trying to get it since last week, the thing about TD that makes it annoying to play is that I can't afford to lose a life before reaching Stage 6 or else I won't beat Miko, doing a perfect run I would only reach her with 4 lives in stock as the purple ghosts are hard for me to collect.

>>17205568
It warms my heart to see you finally got it after our conversation, now that you beated it deactivate slow mode, and I do recommend to grind some PCB too (with slowmo off aswell) so you can get used to it, as the other games won't have that feature and it will permanently damage your skills preventing you from improving.

Does Slowmo go towards unlocking cards in Spell Practice and Last Spells/Words/the ones in Spell Practice

I can't play Aya's games. She's too fast, and I end up flying into bullets. The focus speed is still way too high for me, and the charging is way too slow. Why even include that much slowdown?
Anyway, is there a way to remedy that? Maybe I should try to play other games unfocused to get used to speed? Or is it all about banging your head against a wall until you memorise exact movements during every spellcard? Gets tiring after 200 shots taken.

I also have a similar problem with Marisa, but her focus is more manageable. I even 1cc'd with her before, but I can't get past level 5 in STB.

Having just done my first IN 1cc, Marisa is definitely worse than reisen, seeing ass reisens nonspells are all hug bottom of screen and just tap sideways, 3/4 of her spells are just going up and down in time with the phasing, so marisas got a lot more complex stuff in her setup, although a fair few of her spells are ones where diagonal movement helps IMO.
>>
>>17206059
The reason why I find Marisa so hard (aside from her high amount of lives for a 4 stage boss) it's mainly the background during the pursuit, that spell with the two moving lasers and Master Spark. It moves so fast and the colours of the bullets are so bright and different between them that fucks my eyes, my sight get tired and I can't really tell what's happening or where I need to move.

The only difficult part with Reisen to me it's that spell where 4 rings of bullets get frozen and I need to move to the center before the new wave of bullets kills me.

>>
>>17206333
>>17206457
Im a habitual reimu player, so never seen the fight vs her.

As for marisa, nondirectional laser is one of the spells where I found diagonal movement to be the key- dont focus too much on the lasers beyond "switch directions when they fade", keep an eye on the main star streams, diagonal down move through the stars, then diagonal up to get up to distance so lasers dont catch you, and I found the diagonals better for not running into small stars. Masterspark, I just focused on dodging for the most part, with diagonals helping get through the star weaving in time- get ran locked on asap, then just dodge, its not worth it trying to redirect the laser out of the way to let you stay under marisa with main shot IMO.

Nothing I can do from here. Just don't quit. Maybe think of those as practice runs?
Eventually you will remember stage 4 so well you will be able to do it with your eyes closed, but die on stage 5 or stage 6, or face the notorious fail at the last spellcard. Just keep going, especially if you still end up using continues.
Many 1ccs happen just after a failed run.

>>17209708
>I don't remember SA's stage 5 being particuraly hard
Perhaps you blocked it from your memory. It's notoriously difficult to learn, though I don't think the execution is as hard as people claim.
UFO had the undisputed hardest stage 5 before LoLK, Shou is brutal.
>>
>>17209758
Rin has bullshit that puts her on par with Shou, like the Wheel of Fuck You and Cat's Walk All Over Your Corpse
>>
>>17209758
I found SA's stage 4 to be harder because Satori has Sonic speed bullets. The only thing I remember about stage 5 are the constant (and cute) appearences of Orin in her cat form during the stage.

I'm not saying that it's easy by any means, just not that hard as stage 4.
>>
>>17209778
Due to the mechanics of SA it's easy enough to bomb the troublesome midbosses and still get a piece of life. The power drop is only troublesome on stage 5, since it's a little stingy with power until after the spaghetti-os bullet section.
For Blazing Wheel in particular you only need to dodge some 15 waves (you can get by with as few as ten waves if you play ReimuA), and Rin drops 2.0 Power.

>>
>>17209606
>Too bad that it only exist for SA and UFO, tho. It would be so helpful if there were more mods for the other games.
From TD and on there is a flag you can set through modifying the executable that activates a debug boss-only mode. Outside of that, I haven't bothered to think up anything in the later games that would make for a more interesting boss rush experience.
>>
After 500 tries I finally 1cc'd TD on normal. I've gotta be the person who's the special kind of retard at Touhou and I still can't bomb on death for shit. Pretty sure my first try was on the day the game was on torrent.

Blazing wheel is in stage 6 though. Also it's easily her easiest spellcard in my opinion, at least on normal. Plus you can bomb it for free even if you do have trouble on it since she drops so much power afterwards.
>>
>>17211331
We're thinking of different attacks, I believe
I'm thinking of the one where she makes wheels out of her ghosties
>>
Has anyone here ever played Gundemonium?
>>
>>17210480
So every scenario is canon? But aren't they incompatible?
Like, in Border/Netherworld Team scenario Marisa has no idea what happens with the Moon and suspects protagonists to be the villains, and in Scarlet/Magic Team scenario Reimu is the one to do so.
Obviously, if all available protagonists actually went to resolve the incedent, Reimu/Marisa wouldn't be ignorant.
You can go this "all playables were involved" route in other games, but not in IN.
You can even say that both Border/Netherworld OR both Scarlet/Magic team scenarios are canon, because they face the same fourth stage, but not all four of them.

Rin has a lot of spell cards with a circle motif (a pun on 輪?), so you might also mean Spleen Eater, but that's her least random card.
>>
>>17211506

I think all the character's dialogue and endings are equally canon as far as everything said/done in them being official and recognized but I think as far as the print works are concerned there's a completely separate "true" account of what really happened on a plot level, usually with Reimu being the one to solve the incident but often with the other characters being implied to have taken some part in it too.

For instance, it's mentioned that Reimu stopped Utsuho, but it's also canon that Marisa met Yuugi during that incident, so they must've both gone underground, something which doesn't fit with any of the game routes in particular.
>>
>>17211554
What about IN's scenario?

Don't be too hard on yourself, be happy that you did it, even if it took you 500, 1000 , 2000 tries or even years to do it.

"Literally everyone kicks the shit out of eintei" ?
>>
>>17211554
This is just my headcanon bullshit, but I like to think that every scenario is happening at the same time, but only one character (mostly Reimu) is the able to defeat the final boss.
>>
Trying to determine the canonicity of scenarios and endings is almost as silly as trying to determine powerlevels in Touhou. Just try not to think too hard about it.
>>
>>17211597

That's technically not possible in IN or TD outside of the possibility of parallel universes, same with games where characters have multiple potential scenarios like SA/UFO/DDC. I like to just think that there's a separate "true scenario" that sort of takes all the notable events/interactions of the routes/endings and alters them/meshes them together in a way that makes sense. Honestly I think ZUN just doesn't really care for having a strictly logical canon so much though, so like >>17211600 said I try not to think too hard about it.
>>
>>17211618
It's not that he doesn't care (necessarily), it's just that sometimes you have to sacrifice flavor for gameplay. If you want both consistent storytelling and multiple playable characters, but there's no good way to do both, then the latter takes precedence. It's the same reason why danmaku fights are so asymmetrical in-game, even though they're actually supposed to be more like equal exchanges of spell cards. Making a good game comes first, and the story has to work around it, so you just have to accept that what's shown in-game is necessarily a bit of an abstraction of the "real" events.

But they only use two spellcards and maybe three attacks that could be called non spells at best. Also drowning in the goddamn faires. I personally think it's more like usual games except even if you don't bomb the other party experiences about 3/4 of your spellcard arsenal anyway. Logically, it would be outright broken if you got like 5 free bombs before every fight, so you need to manage resources during the entire game in one go, instead of just doing it during boss encounters.
Maybe we'll get a phantasmagoria game where both players have to face a stage and then each other, with multiple personalized spellcard and non spellcard attacks at some point in the future.

The ghost circles are always aimed. Listen to when they spawn, then move out of the way. They move slowly so they'll be aimed at where you were at when they spawned.
>>
>>17213458
>I just pray I am not in the Ghost's path
The scythes are aimed at you every time, it works like Utsuho's Nuclear Fusion in that you have to navigate through smaller bullets over to the gap in the larger bullets. The big ones in Nuclear Fusion are also aimed at you, they're pretty similar.
>>
>>17211506
The issue is thinking of individual scenarios as "canon" or "non-canon" in the first place, as though the games are just like a linear story that follows a specific series of events and that series, only that series, is the "correct one". The method of storytelling and what information gets plucked is completely different from how something like a manga or novella approaches it. It's all relevant. I'm sure you can accept that dialogue in different scenarios will establish different things, and it isn't the case that all but one scenario have "non-canon" information in dialogue. It's similar for endings.

To that end, the only thing left is wanting a particular character to have "canonically" solved the incident, and clearly when multiple people are known to solve incidents, who in particular does is not important, and that's how it's treated whenever mentioned in the manga etc. In the case of IN it's even purposefully obscured as you can read in BAiJR.

Remi's bubble vomit always follows the same pattern. You can go above her when she does the downward, non-aimed barrage and she cannot hit you. Staying close to her makes the aimed barrage easier to stream as the bullets do not spread out as far. Very easy non-spell if you shotgun her while streaming the aimed portion and then alternate to shotgunning her non-aimed portion by sitting on her head.

You should always bomb Scarlet Meister in survival runs on lunatic. It is not worth the extremely low chance you have of capturing it, even if you have done it in practice mode.

You can dodge it. It's aimed, just keep still while they're firing then move as soon they finish. Later you will get to a part you have very little room to dodge but it's doable. The key is moving as little as possible.
Listening to shooting SFX may prove useful here.

Unless you're talking about the part before Sakuya's midboss encounter.
It still isn't hard, unfocus and move upwards. They die quickly and you have enough room to fit a truck in between the walls.

No, when I do have a "bomb this" mindset I always do it in anticipation of a hit rather than trying to react to it, but I just don't like bombing and I try to capture cards even if the odds seem against me. It's a problem I have but I really want to capture as many cards as I can during a run.

How long did it take for you to get your first 1cc? I can barely get past the Prismriver Sisters in PCB before losing all my lives. I've been playing for roughly 12 hours or so total, is it going to take a lot more practise to do it?
>>
>>17227850
Lunatic requires strategies on a lot of patterns, if you feel like you're hitting a brick wall, look up replays and stuff online. There's much less spellcards that you can just microdoge through without knowing what's coming at you beforehand.
>>
>>17235847
I always find that by far the largest factor in achieving my first 1CC of any of the games is learning how to not waste bombs, ie: not dying with bombs still in stock. Once I get more comfortable with using bombs (which involves learning which Spell Cards are too tough for you), I usually net a 1CC very quickly.
Is PCB your first Touhou game? If so, 12 hours is a very reasonable amount of playtime, don't sweat it too much though. Just approach it at your own pace. I find that getting a Game Over messes me up for the rest of the day, so it's pointless to keep retrying multiple times, but other people have a lot of success by, say, putting 2 hours of playtime in every day. Just don't force yourself to keep butting your head against the wall unless you're having fun or seeing actual improvements in your performance.

It took me longer to get my first 1CC when I originally got into Touhou because I dipped my feet into all of the games (UFO was the recent release back then), so it's not like I was making a beeline for the 1CC in just one game. Don't be afraid to try out the other games if you feel like you aren't progressing in PCB, your skills won't disappear unless you spend a long while without playing any bullet hell games.

PCB was my second game, and it took me about five attempts to 1cc on normal, but I put a lot of time into EoSD before that (maybe 15-20 hours? I didn't 1cc it before switching to PCB). I would not recommend playing different games at the same time when you're starting out (or if you are trying to 1cc something on hard or lunatic). At least for me, I get fucked up by the slightly different mechanics if I switch between games.

I just went back to PCB today to start working on Extra, which I never was able to complete. With PCB, you want to avoid bombing if at all possible in order to increase your score (which helps get you extra lives). If you can, don't bomb at all in the first three stages, and try not to hit anything/use the free bomb when the cherry mode activates. You don't need to worry about not bombing after you hit stage four or so if you are just trying to 1cc as opposed to worrying about your score. Try practicing on the later stages so you spend less time on stages 1-3 where you shouldn't have any trouble.

Not very good advice. I'd say for PCB survival you want to make it to the start of stage 4 with no more than one bomb used and no lives lost. Then strategically break every border and use a bomb if you think you're going to die. You can safely bomb the entirety of Youmu and Prismrivers with no risk; although it won't feel to great doing it.

I dont know why SA is so difficult for me, I've 1cc'd nearly every other game on normal and a couple on hard, but SA is my weakness
>>
>>17245764
Does that include LoLK Legacy

Because if you can handle LoLK then you can handle SA
>>
>>17245775
that does not include LOLK
>>

I honestly think Yukari is like the 4th or 3rd best shot in the game. Border Team kinda sucks due to Reimu.

Welp. After 3000 years I finally have something to mark down on the chart
>>
>>17246116
If Reimu were a few ranks faster the border team would destroy everyone.

Is there any strategy to beating Sakuya's final spellcard (Killing Doll) on hard? It's the only spellcard from Stages 1-5 that I haven't been able to capture yet. Her first boss card can be done by just moving away from the red clusters before the knives spawn, and the second boss card is made a lot easier by redirecting the knives, but I can't get a grasp on how to do Killing Doll.
>>
>>17246116
Congrats, that looks impressive, I like Alice's damage but the shot is too narrow for me.
>>
I'm really new to the game, but I'm managing to get through a few of the cards that are giving me trouble. I have no idea how i'm beating them and am constantly almost dying.

Is that normal for this game, or?
>>
>Can make it to Kaguya on Lunatic (while starting with 7 lives)
It isn't 1cc but I can feel myself getting better at 2hu and it feels strange dodging things I once thought were undodgeable
>>
>>17245764
ReimuA is one of the harder types to 1cc.
Try ReimuC or MarisaA first.

What do you mean by that? That bullets get really close to you? Don't worry, that's normal. You are okay at all times unless they actually hit you.

Give me some more info, what game, what stage can you get to, who you're using.
>>
>>17247775
I've been playing DDC, and while I've certainly been getting better, I'm noticing a lot of times I'm just barely dodging bullets or (in this fucking case) musical notes that I didn't even realize were there, barely even registering what I'm doing before doing it.

I've had so many "I have no idea how the fuck I survived that" moments.

This is normal. When I started I also didn't notice a ton of bullets and had a ton of deaths because of that. It's actually good that you already subconsciously dodge them.
Just remember to keep one eye out for holes in enemy patterns and keep one eye on your touhou's beatiful behind so you can micrododge.
>>
Why do so many people in this thread collect 1ccs? I mean, getting a couple lunatic clears is a bigger deal than clearing every normal with every shot type. and youll improve really slowly if youre too much of a pussy to try something harder.

I do it for the endings.
Then I'll do it for hard mode clears, maybe not all of them. Then EX. Then I'll tackle lunatic. If I become too good now I'll have no fun attempting later games.
>>
>>17246302
Well it is nice but don't be fooled anon, Alice is actually very good for Extra if you know how to do stage well. Mokou died way too fast in some of the spells, due to taking more damage than normal.

Well done, anon! Clearing Ex with the shittiest shottype is seriously impressive and sadistic.

Now do it with pic related.

I'm trying to beat EoSD for the first time on normal and I suck pretty hard.
Does anybody have any idea on how I am supposed to deal with Cirno's first spellcard? I always get trapped between the bullets coming from the sides and the ones coming from above, even when I try to imitate someone else by getting really close and quickly moving into the gaps, the ones from the sides get me anyway.

I don't know man. It's like every shot type has different dialogue, endings and sometimes spellcards. If you don't care about lore and you play only for epen, why do even play Touhou?
>>
>>17248599
Other shottypes should take her out faster than this.
You can stand close to Cirno and not have to do that weird diagonal down movement I did too
>>
>>17247812
That's good to know, I was afraid I was making some kinda mistake by not being super cognitive about every move.

True. Why even bother playing video games then.
>>
>>17250154
It's not like touhou is great gameplay wise at a low levels, so why bother playing just for the "lore" is a good question indeed.

Some people are just not that good. Some people are completionist. Some just enjoy slow paced progress. Some people enjoy the lore. Some people something something. Why am I even responding to someone who didn't answer answer my first question, uses quotation marks and suggest me to read dialouges on the wiki.

???
The core gameplay of Lunatic is exactly the same as the core gameplay of Normal, it's just harder. Are you trying to claim that the sole factor of how much fun touhou is is the difficulty?
>>
>>17250278
Clearing any difficulty is low level.
>>
>>17250213
Believe it or not, there is people that go anal about other players reading dialogue in game.
Really fucking retarded if you ask me.
