I see some people say that kigurumi is purely a fetish thing, but i think kigurumi is just cosplay, personally i find it horrible and messy to do anything lewd inside a zentai.

The answer is, obviously, that kigurumi can be both. Also, cute and lewd aren't mutually exclusive and 'pure' is a rather strange property, imho.

Although it may seem obvious: the bottom line is that you should do whatever you want and try find people who think alike, but there will always be 'dismissive opinions' (for example "Oh, you're doing X? I don't know much about X, but it is basically devil worship, right?") about niche interests such as kigurumi. So don't take claims of 'people' who claim certain associations or stereotypes must always hold to seriously.

I've done it, the masks are cheaper than kigs (silicone as opposed to fibreglass) but head size is much smaller, meaning you don't have that much leeway to create illusions of proportion.
Dreammask seems to have the highest market share, although I like natori's designs a bit better.

Sounds to me like you're basing your experience on the ones like featured in that 'Secrets of the Living Dolls' documentary... but that's like saying you don't like kigurumi because the masks look like [pic related]. That's taste for you. For me it's the doll aspect and the fact the person in unrecognisable the thing for me. Kig is just one of the many possibilities. But I am quite picky, I don't like open mouth masks, even if it's just a painted on thing. The image of the mask also needs to have a closed mouth. Be it kig, female mask, Venetian mask or any other type of mask. Also a zentai/hadatai suit isn't mandatory for me, but it does give me the extra 'oomph' to it all.

Call it metaposting or whatever, but this coulda been a legitimately good place for people to air criticism about the discord server anonymously.
