Phones especially make use of the orientation exif tag when taking photos to take them in the same orientation and then have the application rotate them.
4chan strips exif tags.

Mine was a negative scan I forgot to rotate.
The others are most likely phone shots where rotation info is in the exif which 4chan ignores.

>>17026765
No idea. Alot? It depends on what you are doing. I didn't bother taking pictures of women pretending to be geisha or super tourist spots. Far too many pictures of that stuff online. I'd take pictures of my apartment, cats in windows, my meals, beautiful sights, random things in the night. I've never seen the need to take 10000 photos a day, when you'll never look at them all ever again. Take what you want and enjoy Japan.

Is it true that Japanese buildings aren't really insulated and got super cold in the winter and super hot in the summer?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6h-ADCRLCgI
This kind of thing is what I love about Japan, it seems wherever you go there's this stark juxtaposition between hyper modernity and ancient tradition that really makes the country uniquely beautiful.

It's weird, when I was in Tokyo, I was in a temple somewhere, on top of a hill (Kanda Shrine, from my googling and what I can remember).
Then I decide to walk randomly. I go down the hill and continue walking. I don't need to walk much and then I find large, crowded streets. I look around. Then I notice "I'm in Akihabara." That was my first time there, and was a bit shocking.
>>17030959

>>17076415
Did you get special permission to be there or did you sneak in?
If you snuk in how difficult is it to do that?
>>17076984
I was actually passing through the area, entirely unaware it was near the nuclear station. I was taking the Jouban Line up the east coast - the line stopped at Tatsuta and you had to take a JR arranged shuttle bus to get to Minami-Souma, where the line resumed all the way to Sendai. I decided to walk to Tomioka and take the bus from there, past the sign that says "only vehicles allowed for the next 6km", and no one stopped me - once police pulled up and asked for my visa, but that was all, and they didn't seem to mind me being there. I never did go into Ookuma, which would probably have been rather more dangerous - the radiation levels I was walking through were probably 2 microSv/h, for reference.
It was also quite interesting - one of the policemen was from the Fukui police, and apparently he said that as this region needed policing they had sent for manpower from all around Japan.

>>17085886
There are barely any locals, the only people there are workers. I think some of the regions have been fully opened up to public already, but its not likely many of the people that were evacuated will return. Sometimes I almost felt like walking through a ghost town.
See pic related - detox work for the town of Tomioka has long been completed, and I think Namie also, but I'm pretty sure Ookuma will still be closed off to pedestrians.
>>17091120
How is Kanazawa, by the way? I heard it's like Kyoto, except not filled with tourists.
>>17094766
>kyoto without tourists
On one hand, I want the new linear line to bypass Kyoto so we have less tourists.
On the other I want it to come here so we can have 40 minute trains to Tokyo.
>>17095329
Why do you live in a city with 17 UNESCO world heritage sites if you don't want to deal with tourists?
>>17095336
Because outside of tourist season it is the best city in the world.
Plus it has some of Japan's best universities.
>>17095329
> except not filled with tourists
Maybe a few years ago but Kenrokuen is just as filled with tourists as any popular Kyoto temple nowadays.
>>17095353
>it is the best city in the world.
Reasons?
>>17095379
Lots of reasons.
The big one for me is the history. A lot of traditions and things are done in Kyoto that are forgotten in the bigger cities. The block I live on does hi no youji with wooden blocks older than anyone remembers. They say they are from the edo period but I kind of doubt they go that far back. Everywhere you look there is some building hundreds of years ago. You can't go a block or two without finding something woth history to it.
>>17095353
>outside of tourist season

A lot of places have no photos signs up no matter what country you are in, but they hardly enforce it unless you are doing something disruptive.
Museums and the like are more likely to enforce because they consider people posting photos of their exhibits online to be competition.
And of course onsens ban photography because people are fucking bathing.
>>17141106

An option for onsens would be the rooms with a small private bath attached.

Last time I went to Meiji Jingu there were a series of weddings going on there, same kinds of processions, hundreds of random shrine visitors around taking photos and such.
>>17153716
It was in public and there were dozens of other people taking pictures, also there was literally another wedding procession every 10 minutes so it was obviously a very popular place to do so.

Not only in these pictures but also on Google maps street view, why there are no people walking in the streets?
In European cities there are always people in the streets near bus stops, malls, stores or simply walking around. Japan being healthy I thought there would be plenty of people walking too.
>>17166226
Pictures look better without people in them.
But for many of these pictures, it looks like they are in a really inaka place where cars are mostly used.
