Come on, how many Touhou anime series do we have? The animation is pretty good and so is the soundtrack.

Yes the plot/screenwriting is clumsy, and they could have done better. But the majority of anime done by *professional studios* has retarded plot and screenwriting, and this is an amateur group. Again, they could've done better regardless, but I still enjoy rewatching it anyway.

People seem to have a natural tendency to think [something]+touhou is going to be better than the base [something] or even base touhou, however usually it's usually somewhat worse due to being amateurish doujiin production and having lower production values (but usually a lot better than an actual amateur doujin production has any right to be).

Truly appreciating these things involves simply liking it for being touhou in a different form than usual.

Pika Aizawa has evaporated after dubbing episode 3 and releasing a voice drama CD (霊夢と魔理沙と萃香のおやすみ). Also, no trace of her previous work can be found on the internet anymore, except Youtube reprints.

Now it's up to whoever is capable to at least do a decent Marisa (which seems to be a long shot).

However, there's someone called trkdy on which we might give a chance. She plans on redubbing all the series all by herself. However, she seems to be as reliable as a Lada because she hasn't touched that series since 2 years (busy schedule?).

They don't have a good director. Their number one priority was making sure the anime looked good, when the qualities in touhou have never been looks. The comedy and action, for example, have very poor pacing.

The writing is inferior to the quality of animation and music. It's bad even for a doujinshi. It's still slightly better than Summer Day's Dream, which should be called Secondary's Fever Dream.
I don't expect any deep story from these, it's just below average.

This one's quite good, although it seemed to become less about comedy and more about shipservice as it went on.

This is also a good example of direction, as even with the rather simplistic animation and varying quality models, it generally does more with them than Kaleidoscope does with it's serious bishoujo art. Characters are often goofing off or being cute in the background during exposition scenes.
