Not him but we've had to upgrade just one set of "neccesary" equips with each new update. Upgrade guns? 2 or 3 months for it. Upgrade torps? Upgrade ASW? Upgrade tanks? Upgrade more guns? Upgrade daihatus? Upgrade seaplane fighters?

Now, someone new would need to upgrade all of these, FAST, and the limited supplies of screws is nowhere near enough to make you catch up quick.

Much like blueprint, the amount of screws you need is huge and with each new update there are new neccesary screw sinks coming out.

There is enough leeway for you to make suboptimal decisions if the rest of your fleet is optimized or if you're willing to grind it insanely to make up the slack. Mine never was. That's only if you idlecolle, occasionally logging in to send out the expedition fleets. While shipgirls have morale (which is basically stamina), you can have up to a hundred shipgirls in your base, more if you buy the base expansion with real money, so you can constantly swap out tired shipgirls and sortie as much as the resources will allow you. Leveling your girls, and clearing out maps and quests takes more dedication that just 10 minutes a day.

You could do that but then you'd never catch up and play hard mode events. There are daily quests to begin with and those take at least an hour to complete, also weekly quests, monthly quests.

In short this game is not a low effort browser game to simply play while you are conmuting. It needs a lot of dedication and newcomers need quadruple or quintuple dedication compared to veterans because they have to catch up asap.

I've been playing for 3 years already and it usually takes me a couple of hours of my day. I do other stuff while grinding and doing quests, like watching anime though.
