Probably working for some other company, like >>16786443 said. Like the guy who draws for Disgaea, Takehito Harada, he draws pic related as a doujin work sometimes. He also used to publish doujin regularly under the name haradaya, from what I hear.

Silly question.
Everyone can be a doujinshika so asking what they do for a living is really stupid.

If I would have a regular job, I probably would have watched tv most of my free time instead of drawing. I guess japanese are just this awesome.
