I actually found it at a goodwill, and it's been my prized possession ever since. Some anon translated the kanji as "enoshima" and I've been trying to find more or similar cups in this style but I can't find anything anywhere. It's super solid and great quality.

I've been posting here for over 10 years now and the best I can figure is some people getting really angry because they think that posting with a name/trip is attention-seeking behavior and I do understand the position, although it's not at all why I do it. I post with a trip in a thread where I hope to continue in the discussion. It used to make it easier to track the conversation but that doesn't really apply anymore because thread watcher so I don't know.

Usually, I wouldn't give a fuck and continue posting but I like you guys and the fumo thread so I don't want to derail.

As far as I know unless you picked "Registered Sal" I don't think so granted I always opt for that whenever possible so at least I have a piece of mind. Though if you get slapped with those extra fees just by EMS it may not be worth the 3-day delivery speed. It just comes to how you see your budget. Not unless you can undervalue in some way for EMS.

SAL Small Packet can be either Unregistered or Registered, you need the Reg option to be able to track your package. Some stores (like Mandarake) only offer the latter, while others (like Amiami) allow you to choose either one. That said there's a list of countries (Australia, Greenland, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Hungary, Finland, Poland) that don't accept the Registered ones anymore, so if you live in one of the aforementioned ones you can't have Reg SAL SP. In that case many stores allow you to upgrade to AIR Small Packet, which again can be Reg or Unreg but there's no country limitations. It's a bit more expensive and faster, something inbetween SAL and EMS.

About the customs fees (and the horrible handling fees) it's just a matter of luck. Common knowledge says that EMS is a 100% hit, while SAL has a chance to slip without additional fees. But this might vary with countries and your luck. The only way to avoid them is to have the sender write a lower value on the package, so it is below the threshold for customs in your country. But some stores (like Amiami) won't allow to.

SAL Parcel is different from Small Packet. Yes, they had to upgrade it because Small Packet can only be small (duh) and your order doesn't fit. Don't worry, that one is trackable too by default (there's no such thing as an untracked/unregistered Parcel), and also insured up to 10k yen (Small Packets are only up to 6k).
The bad news is it's more expensive (still a bit cheaper than EMS) and probably has higher chance of customs fees than SP. Also you can't undervalue with Amiami.

Unfortunately it is. You used to be able to opt out of that shit, but now it's apparently mandatory if your bank and the shop supports it. Even when I said not to activate it, it still wouldn't let me proceed without setting it up. As if it's going to help security-wise anyway. If my machine is compromised, bad guys get the password. If their machine is compromised, bad guys get the password. If they decide to use some sort of load balancing system like Cloudflare and their systems start, oh, I don't know, spewing plaintext secret information onto third party websites that then gets cached on google for a week, bad guys get the password.

I don't know man, but just looking at her generally makes my day better. Maybe in a month or two with things calm down at work and I'm in Japan I might host a photo contest or something with people's fumos and the winner will get a Fumo or something. (Probably whichever fumo is available to purchase at the time.) But then again what about the people who can't afford fumos? I went to Japan just last February and I found it really difficult to find a fumo in Akiba and Nakano. Given that I only visited a limited amount of shops in Akiba due to time constraints, it's still pretty disappointing to see no fumos when I went there. Plushie population was pretty sparse.

Check backstreets and alleys. I found a Sakuya Nendo on 4F of a 6F collectibles store down a backstreet (it was well lit and they had tables and bins of plushies out the front). There plenty of stores selling figures and such in Akihabara (on the main streets) but they may not be obvious from the street, as they're not always on the ground floor.
