>The first port and starboard ships of Shinagawa and Asakusa were loaded with cargo and the surface derricks were lit up in preparation to transport the wooden containers that would pile up at night.

It makes me even more curious to see how exactly PA Oda knows how to break stealth fields.

– How about reasons why shows that may have sold well (like Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon) do not get more seasons?

Kevin: I’m glad you used Horizon as an example since we heard about it first-hand. A member of the production team at Sunrise mentioned that the studio had no intention whatsoever to push for more because the series entailed tons of design work, so despite being a fairly successful property it wasn’t really worth the effort for them; for those unaware, Horizon has an endless cast of characters and a ridiculous mishmash of settings that makes the preproduction process much more complicated. Granted we’re only talking about a studio’s point of view here, but it’s a good example of the many seemingly minor circumstances that can get in the way.

>>
>>16640458
That's disappointing, but not exactly a surprise. I think a lot of us suspected something like this. If you can do something that sells even better and takes a lot less work to make (i.e. LL), then you'd have to be irrational as a studio to choose otherwise.

I remember it being mentioned many threads ago that S8 picked up Horizon partly as a self-imposed challenge; they wanted to try adapting something then considered completely unadaptable. They certainly succeeded, but I guess there's no more taste for that sort of project left.

So I know all of the Kawakami works are connected, but how tightly are they connected so far?

GENESIS clearly carries over Testament and Judgement, some of the races, and Contradiction Allowance in the glossary, but otherwise seems pretty disconnected from AHEAD, but that sort of makes sense since EDGE is in the middle and basically unknown so far.

But I have a bit of a hard time figuring out how GENESIS leads directly (?) into what we've seen of OBSTACLE, aside from Kawakami-style shrine maidens and the Black Witch's trick that sounds like inverse Contradiction Allowance. Then again, because of the inside a story aspect I'm not even sure it would be connected.

Can't comment on OBSTACLE to CITY, since I'm just starting to read that one, and don't think I've seen any word of a Rapid-fire King translation to know anything about FORTH to AHEAD.
>>
>>16640458
This repeats what somebody from gg staff on IRL work at Sunrise said almost word for word. Do we have an involuntary deanon here?
>>
>>16644936
They're connected, but only in the sense of a shared universe, with each era (AHEAD, GENESIS, OBSTACLE, etc) separated by extremely long periods of time. It's like the relationship between, say, the ancient Greeks and modern Europe --- there's stuff that's been passed down, but the world's changed a whole lot. In this case the difference is even greater, since the very structure of the universe (concepts, destiny, etc.) have been altered between eras.

We can reasonably speculate that the apocalypse in Horizon has something to do with the emergence of OBSTACLE's many repeatedly created and destroyed worlds.

For instance, we know that PA Oda's Genesis Project has something to do with "ending the world, but not letting it end", which seems contradictory. One way to resolve that would be to let the current form of the world end, but ensure that a stable future world (i.e. CITY) will eventually be born.

It's certainly not clear how things play out, but hopefully the resolution of the Apocalypse in Horizon will shed some light on the issue.
>>
>>16645805
Hell, what if what we have in Horizon is a repeat of some cycle as well?
Or Shinjou`s novel.
>>
>>16631092
There are Horizon characters that aren't everybody's favorite?
>>
>>16640458
It just sounds like they expanded on what Vale said in an ask.fm reply.
>>
>>16645870
I have entertained the idea that Shinjou's novel, the Testament, and Kagami and Shouko's writings are all connected somehow. They're all stories that purport to tell the very story they are in, after all, and the last two at least are pretty explicitly scientifimagical.

I also find it odd that the repeatedly created and destroyed worlds of OBSTACLE certainly at face value sound a lot like Kagami and Shouko's work, but if anything they actually sound more like characters from what I've heard about FORTH, in that they're from a world much like ours without widespread use of magic.

Holy shit! So, does that mean that Hashiba is Team Leviathan?
>>
>>16646992
We've been getting a lot of those parallels! Team Leviathan embodies necessary evil --- they're set on pushing aside the sins of Low Gear and resolving the negative concept crisis on favorable terms. As Sayama puts it, they're choosing reason over emotion --- accepting loss and thinking entirely about the future.

Musashi, in this sense, is much more akin to the Army. They choose emotion over reason --- think Toori's dream of a world where everyone's wishes can be fulfilled, or Horizon's goal to prevent any further losses. Plus, Musashi even seeks to reverse the loss of the Far East to provisional rule.

Meanwhile, Hashiba is like UCAT --- they've chosen to embrace necessary evil (think tactics like the ley line reactor bombs or hijacking the Testament Union), all to enact the Genesis Project and (presumably) avert the Apocalypse.

Kawakami seems to have a great fondness for repetition --- repeated songs, repeated phrases, repeated gags, repeated character archetypes.

I think this really peaked with OnC, where even the dramatic structure of each arc was repeated (i.e. Sayama always gives the same kind of speech at the climax of the conflict with each Gear).

At least for the character he has an in-universe excuse, since there's the reincarnation concept from 6th Gear. That plus the inheritance concept from Obstacle or City, can't remember the exact details, make history repeat itself.
>>
Does Aerial City London, and to a lesser extent CITY as a whole, not feel as well explained as usual to anyone else? Might just be because it was one of Kawakami's early works, but I have to admit I'm having more trouble keeping up with all the terminology than usual.
>>
>>16655502
Yeah, I felt that too. I guess he wanted to make you grasp the meaning of the powers by seeing the various ways it was used, and at least Tune Bust City uses a system similar to the one in Aerial City, albeit with a different nomenclature.
Still, even when the power is explained to me, I still fail to grasp it, like Futayo's power up to the Soaring Wings. What the fuck was that about fighting in slow motion against Shibata??
>>
>>16655541
Actually, I think I have a pretty good grasp on how her new use of Soaring Wings works. When the sign frame opens, as long as she moves smoothly like the wind, the sign frame stores power, and when it's shattered, it releases power to purify any obstacles to her speed.

The spell fails and she goes flying if she stops moving either forward or in smooth turns since it's based on the wind. But it doesn't actually matter if she moves quickly, as long as she moves smoothly forward it builds in effectiveness.

In her original method of using the technique, she would open the sign frame, smoothly step through it to break it, and thus be able to accelerate through her newly purified surroundings. However, the sign frame was only open for a short period of time, and her movements were not as refined, so some of the sign frame's power was spent on purifying her own movement.

After Kimi's literal and metaphorical song and dance, what she now does is open a sign frame and control her body with extreme precision such that she's always advancing along the smoothest and most efficient path, even if she's not moving very quickly. Because her movements are so precise, they do not need to be fast to be dangerous: instead of moving her spear and body in large fast motions to quickly strike her opponent, she moves slower along the direct path which is shorter and still arrives sooner. And then, when she needs a burst of speed, Soaring Wings has been accumulating power the whole time, and her body movements do not need any purification, so all of that power is spent allowing her to move at truly ridiculous speeds.

The fight with Shibata played out like it did because his response was to do the same thing. One of them would begin a slow but precise strike, the other would seal the opening as precisely as possible and counterattack. If either of them lagged even a little the other could have attacked at ridiculous speed via either demonic strength or accumulated sign frame power, but their defense was flawless enough that the entire fight except the very end was in slow but precise movements instead.

The scariest thought is that both of them are unused to moving that precisely, but given time they could probably train to maintain the precision but increase the speed.
>>
>>16655687
Actually, I'll amend that: the scariest thought is that it seems to be the case that Kimi figured out how to do all of that entirely without instruction, and seems like she's been doing it continuously and effortlessly for quite a while. Meanwhile, Futayo is drenched in sweat just from her short and slow fight against Shibata. Puts into perspective why first Futayo, and now Muneshige, Gin, and Narumi are getting instruction from her.

Truly the Wisest Sis.
>>
>>16655687
>>16655723
Also worthy of note is that Kimi's training took Futayo from the point where she had to abandon her speed to so much as rapidly turn to the point where she could maneuver freely without breaking Soaring Wings.
>>
>>16655687
>>16655723
Great explanation --- thanks for clearing that up.

But yeah, when you put it that way, it really shows just how high-level (to an absurd degree) Kimi's skills are. Maybe there's plenty of contention over who's the best warrior, but if we're just looking at movement and body control techniques, Kimi blows everyone else out of the water.
>>
>>16655687
Huh. That was enlightening.
You see, what I did get was that thanks to her training, she could keep the Soaring Wings accumulating for longer without it misfiring to some random direction. I also figured that she could do tighter turns and be a lot more useful in close combat. But here're my mistakes:
I couldn't grasp the cumulative nature of the spell because I thought that it purified everything in her way at maximum output since the beginning.
To me the pay off of her training didn't align to what she was putting into practice against Shibata, but your explanantion made me understand.
It didn't even pass by me the thought that her fighting techniques were still 'rough', since she's the vice-chancellor she's got to the strongest in Musashi, so I ignored that.
Being confused, I went to the wiki page to get some more information, only to get even more confused because the explanation there was based on what was said in the anime, and I don't think it did a good job at explaining the abilities. If someone could update it with all this new information, it would be a great help!
But I still don't remember anything being said about her motions being too large or anything like that. Must've read it half asleep or something.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
>>
>>16655805
The other side of the coin is that we know she's a very high level Ootsubaki shrine maiden too, even according to Asama who's probably the highest level shrine maiden on Musashi. We don't know what her other spells can do, aside from them all being related to eroticism and dance (But then, all of Bertoni's spells are related to money, and all of Neshinbara's are related to writing, so I'm not sure that's much of a restriction.)

Frankly, we have no idea how strong she'd be in a serious fight.

It comes through most clearly in her tactic to defeat Muneshige, though in an incomplete form.
https://www.baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php?title=Horizon:Volume_1B_Chapter_40
>Her spell was not the way forward. She could not win like that. Then what was the foundation of her speed?
>…I know the answer!
>It was her body.
>There was something she needed to do before using the spell to cleanse the impurities.
>…I must eliminate the stagnation in my own movements!
>She would rely on the spell and then move. >She would use all of her training and then rely on the gods.
>…Yes, that’s right.
>She would raise her precision.
>She would eliminate the waste.
>She would cast aside her hesitation.
The difference is that while in that fight all she was controlling perfectly was her running, now she is learning to fight at that level of perfection.
>>
>>16655865
She also got extra charge off a longer run-up when she vaulted Muneshige, then pivoted and overwhelmed him with that added speed.

Though it is very interesting that she's come so far when she was already on Muneshige's level.
Did that mean that despite his title he was only mediocre (for a VC level, anyways), or was there something else contributing to his loss?
>>
>>16655897
One of his names was cut by Tadakatsu. He should be faster if not for that, I think.
>>
>>16655865
Actually, the one point I'll add to the first section of this post is that while the fight between Kimi and Futayo was great in the anime, she's actually even more impressive in the LN. It's not that Kimi dancing produced ether barriers that blocked all of the attacks. She was dancing fast enough to dodge all of Futayo's attacks, even when Futayo was attacking fast enough to generate more than a dozen afterimages.
>The flower danced while ignoring the blade that should have stabbed into her countless times. The people then noticed that the type of dance was changing.
>“She’s dancing with her opponent.”
>She was using Futayo’s movements as a part of the dance. Having seen through the movements of the girl’s arms, legs, and body, she would draw back when the girl moved forward and pursue when the girl moved back.
>It was as if she had taken the girl’s hand.
>And the dance changed to match. As she matched the dance to the attacks, it sped up even further.

>>16655897
Keep in mind, Muneshige had already messed his legs up badly fighting Tadakatsu.

>>16655901
See, I read that as metaphorical, but with the way Tonbokiri works, for all I know you might be right and it was literal.
>>
>>16655897
This -- he had two inherited names, that of Tachibana Muneshige and the postman Garcia de Ceballos. Muneshige chose to interpret the latter as meaning he could go fast, and gained the epithet Godspeed. Tadakatsu cut that, so he should be slower now than he was before.

Another thing to note is that he fought Futayo literally the day after getting his chest cut open and leg destroyed. Even with healing spells, it's incredible he could do that.

Plus, remember that he was Tres España's 1st special duty officer (and not its Vice-Chancellor). He's clearly at the VC level, but not at the top of the VC tier.
>>
>>16655913
Tonbokiri deals physical damage by cutting names (which is about as abstract as it gets) and doesn't work if you have too many names (e.g. Kimi). At the very least, the possibility should be there.
>>
>>16655897
Tadakatsu pretty clearly deserved his title of as Peerless in the East. For Muneshige, I think it's more fair to say that he had yet to fully grow into it -- he's decades younger than Tadakatsu and wasn't raised to be a warrior either. He's got the potential, certainly, but he's not really "peerless" in any meaningful sense of the word yet.
>>
>>16655929
Agreed, but the thing that made me hesitate to think it was literal was I don't remember Muneshige ever getting hit by Tonbokiri's normal or super drive, only the blade itself, which I thought was just a blade without any of the name cutting stuff. Could totally be wrong though.
>>
>>16655929
>and doesn't work if you have too many names (e.g. Kimi)
If I'm not wrong, it didn't work because as a stage performer, a name for Kimi doesn't really matter. She can't be represented by just one name, she must be ready to throw it away for the sake of the performance
>>
>>16655941
>A sealed oblong space with no path of escape had been created. And piercing through that wall that blocked off even the sky was…
>…Tonbokiri’s blade!?
>Just as Muneshige realized what it was, he heard a voice. It was Tadakatsu’s voice coming from the other side of the wall.
>“Bind!!”

Muneshige gets hit after the activation, but it's also mentioned that since the blade is buried in his body (and can't reflect anything) it doesn't activate. But later on, it seems like being cut had a conceptual effect:

>“You had likely lost from before this battle even began. You may be able to evade the cutting of my father’s Tonbokiri.”

>“But my father had already cut the name of Garcia that refers to your speed. If it appears that I was the victor here, that is because my father had decided the outcome ahead of time.”

I agree that it's not really clear if the blade itself has any effect, but since Tonbokiri is referred to as "the divine weapon of cutting" that can even cut something like "the north", maybe it did have a literal effect.

>>16655962
Right, that's more accurate.
>>
>>16655929
>>16655962
Kimi is really not a good data point. She's been pretty clearly playing fast-and-loose with things in general, and tends to barely explain what the hell is going on.
Her fight in England, for example, a huge amount of it has to be inferred. Sure, she generates absurd amounts of blessings by constantly giving multiple high-quality offerings. But that alone shouldn't make her immune to magic, What exactly she did isn't stated, aside from being some version of her standard "sync with enemy and break their whatever" trick.
>>
>>16655941
Munisihge also double kicked off the air against Old Snake which fucked his legs up.
>>
>>16655962
This matches more with my understanding of it. The more closely the target identifies with the name that is severed, the more damage is done (which is another reason I didn't think the Ceballos name got literally severed, since he seems to identify with it pretty strongly). So when Tadakatsu cut the god of war and mob of soldiers, he cut more generic names, so the cuts were limited to an arm and a leg for the God of War, and the left knee of all of the soldiers.

Meanwhile Kimi seems to barely attach any meaning at all to any names attached to her, rendering her much much more difficult to cut with Tonbokiri. After all, the flower by any other name would smell as sweet.

>>16655995
My understanding of what happened in England is that by precise body control, she ensured that the force of the weight Cecil generated flowed straight down through her skeleton and out to the street, instead of having to resist it with muscular strength. Then, as she could still move, she could still dance, and we know for a fact that she can perform ether tuning via dance thanks to Kimitoasamade. So it's almost certain that just like she could tune ether to make spells more effective (most recently the Large Kanesada firing), she could do the reverse and make a spell less effective through dance.

>>16656014
Yep, that's the point I was trying to make in the middle part of >>16655913
>>
>>16656035
>Meanwhile Kimi seems to barely attach any meaning at all to any names attached to her
Only because Futayo didn't try and cut her true name of NEE-SAN
>>
>>16655901
>One of his names was cut by Tadakatsu
>>16655913
>for all I know you might be right and it was literal.

Given that "names have power" is a fundamental concept due to Owari no Chronicle, I assume that it is meant to be taken literally.
>>
>>16656046
Futayo really doesn't have much of a handle on Tonbokiri yet. I mean, look at what she does with the advanced drive compared to the bullshit Tadakatsu was pulling.
>>
>>16656055
That's a good point, though I wonder how strong it is. By the same logic "writing has power" should still be active, could you still write "floats" on a rock and make it float?
>>
>>16656055
You see, people say that it's not necessary to read OnC before reading Horizon, but it definitely makes things a little bit easier to understand.
>>
>>16656079
The concept of writing is what make the spells work. The sign frames that appear indicating the name of the spell makes the phenomenon happen.
>>
>>16656079
It seems like one of the roles of the gods in Horizon (or something about the laws of the world) is to govern the concepts and make them workable. Back in OnC First Gear had trouble developing technology because they couldn't use paper --- anything they wrote down would have a concept effect.

It's pretty clear that this isn't the case in Horizon. They can write and use books without activating concept effects all the time. Neshinbara, whose spell most closely resembles First Gear's concepts, has to dedicate writings to a god to make then take effect --- so maybe the gods are what mediate the concepts and let them selectively take effect.
>>
>>16656035
>by precise body control

Not sure if this is the case. See the relevant lines from 2-B:

>“B-b-b-but h-how can you ignore Cecil’s weight!?”

>“[...] My god allows makeup and fashion for substitutions, so just by being me, I am not effected [sic] by all sorts of spells! But that’s a trade secret!”

It's not really made clear how makeup and fashion substitutions make her immune to spells, but there's clearly some divine protection at work that renders Cecil's weight spell useless. So her clothes are heavy, but she herself isn't harmed.

It could be that Kimi's divine protection is actively countering the spell --- and since she can use makeup and fashion as substitutions, she can use that defensive divine protection endlessly.

Another possibility is that Kimi's divine protection interprets foreign spells as "makeup", something applied to the body, and thus offers up the foreign spells as substitutions themselves.

I think the former is more likely --- otherwise why not send Kimi to tank every spell --- but the latter could still happen.
>>
>>16656125
That's a good point, and naturally I forgot that that part was in an earlier chapter when I was doublechecking. Still though, simple immunity to spells doesn't seem to be enough to explain what happens. The thing that sticks out is that it's not just that she's seemingly immune to Cecil's spell, it's that she's actually actively dispelling it as she moves, as represented by Cecil losing altitude.

I think it's likely that Kimi is just terrible at explaining things in words. I'd argue we even have pretty good evidence of this, given all of her lessons are physical.

For instance, maybe to her, posture and movement are part of that "just by being me". Maybe she just doesn't even notice she's doing it at this point.

Or, perhaps the body control theory is wrong in this case, but the divine protection is something along the lines of "can dance no matter the circumstances", which would fit perfectly and allow her to use ether detuning to cancel Cecil's spell.
>>
>>16655723
>first Futayo, and now Muneshige, Gin, and Narumi are getting instruction from her.
I've only reached Futayo meeting Kimi and Toori's mom, is that where her refusal to train Futayo leads?
>>
>>16656379
Yeah, she gets Kimi to train Futayo instead and later the other fighting bakas are shown tagging along.
>>
>>16656399
For all that the Tachibana couple are members of a distinguished warrior family, they're remarkably not fighting bakas. A surprising amount of Gin's thoughts are purely domestic (things like cooking and sewing) or political (like visiting orphans when she was still Tres España's 3rd special duty officer). Muneshige's pretty similar: he used to be a postman, is familiar with things like odd jobs, and did intelligence work when he was 1st special duty officer.

Contrast that with Futayo, who seems to not be aware of anything that's not fighting or food (and we love her for it), or Shibata Katsuie, who's got nothing in his head except fighting and Oichi.
>>
>>16656216
>I think it's likely that Kimi is just terrible at explaining things in words.

100% this. She's the representative example of communication-through-action: hurricane slaps and dances do all the really important stuff.

I wanted to share some thoughs about Hexennacht.

The first volume wasn't that good to be honest with you guys, it was rushed, didn't have that good development that is usually something that Kawakami always does, the way how all the issue with Hunter resolved was poorly executed.

There is some good points on volume 1 like everything that involves Kagami and Horinouchi tho.

Now volume 2 and 3 were damn good, it feels like Kawakami was back on track after volume 1. The introduction and development of Mary was really well done and you can feel message inside this volume, same goes for Volume 3 with Fleur.

I don't know why Clash of the Hexennacht isn't that popular when it is good, is like coming back to the times of OnC with a story that is smaller than that.

Btw what happened with Volume 4? I though that was coming soon but there is nothing about it.
>>
>>16659540
Volume 4 comes out in a week or so.
>>

Can someone fucking provide me with a detailed explanation of what the fuck happens between Kashima and his wife?

I know what happened in the past with them and the accident when Kashima released too much power and almost killing her, but why in the LN is mentioned a "lie", where his wife and himself lied to each other? did she cheated on him or what?

Also, why he didn't talk with her about the truth of what happened, about his power and why he's so important and why his work is so relevant?
>>
>>16659796
He always lies to her about his work and never told her about 8 years ago.

She lies him about the fact that she was going to seduce him that night when she was cought in the accident.

They never told one another the truth because they afraid to lose each other, but in the end it doesn't metter to them because they love each other.

There is really nothing complicated about it, it basically all spelled out.

There'll probably be more stories set in OBSTACLE, though. For once it's not "the 1st AHEAD" or "the 1st GENESIS" but "the 1st of countless OBSTACLES" --- this is from the back covers.

In other words, rather than one long series, like Horizon or OnC, OBSTACLE will probably be more like the CITY series, with several sets of shorter stories under one umbrella. And who knows --- Kagami is already a traveler between worlds, so maybe the cast of Hexennacht will come along for the ride.
>>
>>16660661
Sadpanda.

Not a lot of Kawakami doujin translations out there, though. There's a lot of stuff, both H and non-H, that's untranslated.

Oh boy this is fucking trash, Kagami and Mitsuru ended on being carpet munchers like any pandering yuri trash these days based on magical girls theme.

Never expected this from Kawakami, Margot and Naito couple is perfect but this thing on Hexennacht is so bad that is awful.
>>
>>16679536
What do you expect from a story that has a really weak premise and a development rushed as hell.

As far as I can tell, Horinouchi, Hunter, Fleur and Mary travelled in some way back to Kagami's world after defeating her sister (the girl sleeping at Kagami's side) and that's it, the end of Hexennacht.

If you ask me the best thing you can do is forget this existed because for me is the worst story Kawakami ever produced. It can't even be compared to OnC, CITY or Horizon.

>It's still a lot better than the usual haremshit with gimmicks or Isekai LNs we've been getting.

I agree with that, is above the usual cliche garbage we get every year but if we put Hexennacht in a scale and compare it with other Kawakami's works is at the bottom of the barrel.

I would prefer that Hexennacht never existed, better start a OBSTACLE story like Horizon, with the same level of detail and story.

>>16679261

>>
>>16679985

This. It'd be a nice way to both create continuity and let us explore the many worlds OBSTACLE is supposed to have.

>A character joins after another battle
>B character joins after another battle

Mistake.

Kawakami tends to have a fair number of typos, presumably because of how long his novels are. I usually correct them when it's an obvious mistake like this, but this one slipped right by me.

>“Ohhhh! A little higher, Tada-yon. Higher, higher. Ahhh, yes, yes. There, there. Aheen!”

It's not stated outright but I get the feeling she was part of the reason Toori was chosen by the Testament Union to be chancellor. They had to go even lower on the idiot scale after Torii.
>Asama: “It’s best to ignore what Torii-san does. Remember when she went missing when she was appointed President in April? When an El Azor flew by on guard duty, it got caught by the rope she had set up and she swung it around the Musashi while screaming in delight. They didn’t do anything about it to avoid the shame of overlooking the rope, but we couldn’t have complained if they had shot down one of our ships. Toori-kun absolutely loved it, though.”

There is something bothering me for a while, and after reading in AS about Hexennacht.

How the hell does witches have kids?

They have the same techniques from Genesis that a lesbian or gay couple can have kids? from what I see it seems like kagami and manko are oficially a couple, are they going to be able to go further than just a kis and have kids?

>“I understand, Mitotsudaira. You want some kind of proof of the master-servant relationship with your king while you play and frolic with him, don’t you? You want to be covered in your king’s scent as proof that you belong to him and have no other king. Frolicking and licking him isn’t enough for you and only receiving his adoration doesn’t satisfy you, so you want him to defile you like animals playing in the mud. …C’mon, you want to get cutely down on your knees, bow down, and then lick him while you beg for it, don’t you?”
>“N-no, um…”
>Her body temperature rose as she imagined it, but the chilly water held her thoughts in check.
>“N-not even a Loup-Garou does that!”

>“Hee hee. Dear? We pulled an all-nighter ‘studying’, but it looks like that wasn’t enough for you. …Now, now. I can tell even if you bury your face in the pillow and sob. You want to do more for me, don’t you? But you think you’re too awkward and don’t know what to do so you always just let me guide you. But you know what I want you to do now, don’t you?”
>That being…
>“If we view what we just finished as the midpoint of the battle, then I want you to mark me now. C’mon, get up. Your cute wolf…um, who is still very cute. Yes, she’s still got her cuteness. Anyway, your cute wolf is bowing down begging for it. Yes, please don’t hesitate. I’ll lick you until you’re ready. Hee hee. You can hold back if you want. But you don’t get to say no in the end.”

I have suddenly realized that all of the most lasting institutions and constants across the different settings are actually the corporations. ArchsArt shows up in the glossary of Horizon (though not much in the story itself that I recall) and apparently survived the repeated apocalypses of OBSTACLE all the way into CITY for Tune Bust City Hong Kong, and IZUMO stuck around all the way from OnC to Horizon.

Is it ever explained how they manage to last so long even though almost everything else seems to have been lost between eras? Do Kaku or Retsu have enough divine blood that they're immortal and 3-Plum is going to run across them running IZUMO or something?
>>
>>16700156
Corp provides for better continuity probably, not having to commit to a lot of things nation would have to, for example.

Plus, Masazumi is in a deeply committed relationship with War, Futayo is in an open relationship with both Food and Fighting, and the world and everything and everyone in it are Kimi's playthings.
