Their stories are a lot shorter than insidedoll's part-by-part (though the two series I'm looking at currently have nearly a hundred parts, so the total length will be much longer).

The first series is "Kigurumi Maid", about a rich girl who has a live-in kigurumi maid. Pretty much pure kig play all the way through, from what I can tell skimming over the first dozen or two parts. It's much lighter than Doll Princess, with not a hint of bondage or breathplay (as far as I've read), but also much more realistic, and it's still got plenty of that good personality shifting stuff.

The second story is "A Human's End...A Doll's Beginning". It's about a couple who kidnap people, seal them inside costumes, and "convince" them to abandon society and instead live with them in a secret community of only "dolls". Compared with Kigurumi Maid, this has heavier bondage themes with long-term costume wear, and more permanent personality shifting. The problem, for this thread: they use all sorts of costumes, from furry mascots to sentai heroes; only a few of the characters get put in what we consider kigurumi. I'm personally fine with that, but it might be a deal-breaker for some people.

I'll do the first few parts of each series to give people a taste of both, and then based on which has more positive responses, I'll pick it up as something I can release frequently alongside a heavier project.

The maskmaker a lot of people are looking into currently as a good compromise between price and quality is the MuniMuni (http://muni-muni.net/). It's a tiny bit DIY, but you end up with a viable mask for, like, 1/10-1/5 the price. Also, you might need to google translate everything on their site to navigate it. They ship to English countries but they've not gotten an English site just yet XP
But in any case, the general consensus in the kig community is that these are great for the price. Not so much the end goal in your kig career, but a great starting point.

I know quite a lot of the regular "big fans" have a code of conduct they usually circulate amongst themselves, mostly to do with not wrecking things for the kids: e.g. sit towards the back so you're not blocking the view, always join the queue at the end of the meet-and-greet so all the kids get to go first, and so on.

As for panty shots, the deal with Precure kigs and panty shots is the same deal as Japanese anime fans and panty shots. Probably halfway between mild titillation and a running gag. (Also, I've seen 2ch debates where fans look for penis bulges in panty shots.)

Well. I've never seen confirmed proof, if that's what you're asking. Most of the arguments are on the level of "this looks like a bulge but it could be lighting/angle/a quirk of how the fabric is bunched up" or "fat thighs = must be a guy".

Facts are: vast majority of the stage show performers are female. Most common male role is the main baddie. That's not to say males-playing-females don't exist (and I've seen some speculation that Cure Chocolat will attract a higher percentage than normal) but it's rare.

It's mostly wishful thinking, as much as the idea of crossdressing guys appeals.

She's probably going to be played by a (tall) woman most of the time, but that height difference is more conductive to guy players. (A detail that gets missed a *lot* in these photos is that the Precure performers are short. Short-even-by-Japanese-standards short.)

Two things here:
1) zip up the back is a fairly common way of securing masks. Keeps the mask fitted to your head without needing to fiddle with straps under your chin (the "motorcycle helmet" method) and can be less pressure than relying on foam inserts.
2) okay so you actually can't remove a mask once the zip is down. think about it, there is *no* space around your neck for your chin to slide out. zips also go down (instead of up) because it becomes real easy to slap on a collar and lock the zipper to it with a padlock.

In which shit finally gets explained (for those who were curious about the costumes mechanics, and other setting details). Also happens to be a good stopping point alongside Kigurumi Maid part 4, so it's voting time (I sure hope enough people read these that there'll be more than like 3 votes):

In one corner, we have Kigurumi Maid, a story about a high school girl and her boyfriend who spends 22 hours a day in kig as her maid. From what I've read ahead past what I've posted, the story maintains its focus on this couple and their kigurumi play, though there are hints that their mutual friend Sayaka could get involved later. Realistic, sweet, and consensual.

Up against it is A Human's End, A Doll's beginning, a more overtly fetishistic story about a pair of siblings who aim to create a peaceful society populated by people in costume. From what I've read past what I've posted, the story goes on to feature a wide variety of elaborate costumes and scenarios, never focusing on a particular character for long (besides the core siblings). Scifi, somewhat darker, and less consensual.

Note that the story which loses will be translated eventually, just after I finish the winner. Both series are ongoing, with Kigurumi Maid at 46 parts, and A Human's End, A Doll's Beginning at 71. Whichever one wins will see frequent releases alongside an as-of-yet-undetermined project with longer chapters that'll see less frequent releases (I'm looking at insidedoll's second series, "Let's Make a Kigurumi AV!", but I'd like to explore some of these other pixiv authors as well).

Look for the stories tagged "着ぐるみ". My usual procedure is to paste the entire story into MS word, hit the numbered list button to add paragraph numbers, paste the now-numbered story into google translate, paste the numbered translation into a different doc, and work off that. If I run into a sentence I'm worried has an off translation (i.e. all of them, often because the line numbering can fuck up the translation) I'll paste just that line into google translate and then try to figure it out from google translate's romanization, translating individual lines/clauses/phrases, alternate translations, and looking up slang. That's pretty much it, so if that feels doable to you, give it a shot. If you do come up with something, email to me at [email protected] so I can upload it to the google drive.
