-The Winter 2017 event, a 3 map event titled "Reconnaissance Forces Emergency Deployment! Operation 'Hikari'", has started. It consists of 2 standard operation maps and an extra operation map. The event will end on February 28.
-The new ships implemented for this event are Matsukaze (E2 reward), Fujinami (E2 drop), I-13 (E3 drop) and I-14 (E3 reward).
-Setsubun lines and sprites have been removed and replaced with Valentine's Day lines and sprites, including new Valentine's Day sprites for Oboro, Takanami and Minazuki.
-Zara is slated for a Kai 2 this winter or early spring. Saratoga will also get a second remodel.
-The 5th year of KanColle will see foreign ships from "interesting places".
-New Akizuki- and Matsu-class destroyers and escort carriers are under plans to be added.
