There are plenty of good and great fan arts for Len out there though, with a bunch of artists specifically drawing him over and over again. If anything it's Luka who hasn't had much good stuff in a long time, and even if she does get something nicely rendered, it's often of poor taste and/or poorly sexualized, like showing her with gigantic proportions.

It's all left open ended on purpose. All there is is the official measurements and age (and even the age is different from the official one sometimes).

In the case of the Kagamines specifically, Crypton originally released them as twins, but later decided against it so they wouldn't stifle people's creativity or something, and now they are officially just "mirror images".

What's ineresting though is that the fandom ends up creating their own stereotypes for the vocaloids which is used in a lot of songs, like Luka being more serious, Miku more cute/upbeat, Len being either a dork or a playboy, etc.

I'll give you that, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know the reason behind this. Either they're incompetent regarding marketing or there is a reason behind this (money, fear of failure, ...). I'd like GUMI concerts too, seeing GUMI live in the Chou concerts was a feast, but only one a year, and MMD that is, is too little.

So I've been getting into Vocaloid more recently, and was trying to find a Vocaloid general thread. I checked /mu/ first because I assumed anything music goes there, and was a bit surprised to find it here on /jp/.

Just out of curiosity, why is Vocaloid discussed here and not on /mu/? I know Vocaloid is considered part of "Otaku Culture", but shouldn't the fact that Vocaloid is music relegate it to /mu/?

Also, how does /mu/ generally react if you mention Vocaloid over there?

There have been a few Vocaloid threads on /mu/ before that I've seen, however it's usually just the same few albums that are "acceptable" to like because of their genre (mathrock, shoegaze, etc). They usually don't last very long since it's hard to discuss chinese animu robot music while pretending to be an elitist music conoisseur to fit in with the rest of the board, you know.

Also, imposing the limitation of discussing "music" specifically just hinders discussion artificially since Vocaloid encompasses so much more than that (even though /mu/ does have its fair share of derailed band/singer threads, but not on this scope).

So 90% of my intentions is to make a music video for fun. The other 10% is just to see what money could be generated through ads. By definition, that is not CC BY-NC so I'd need a license.

Technically, CFM could sue you if you use their characters to make money without their permission. What would be more realistic is that, in the case of YouTube, they'd file a copyright notice against your video to either suck up the ad revenue or just take down the video entirely. I'm not sure how active CFM is in searching for such videos and if a video only gets ~5k then they probably haven't seen it anyway. In any case, going without a license is a bigger risk in the long term. Plus, I'm not out to screw CFM.

Yes, I've seen that link. I tried to contact CFM via Q/A #4. They basically told me they don't deal with individual artists and only work with organizations such as music labels. Perhaps I am a stupid dense fuck but I'm not sure what the appropriate music label (or organization) would even be for this. This is where I stumble.

Probably not since any random schmuck can buy Rin and make a song using her, as a result there's probably a thousand or two songs with her out there.

Personally, my favorite artists that use her are Junky, Karasuya-sabou, Neru and Wonderful Opportunity! (Jesus-P & Minus-P). They have all got some albums out too.

If you want to find more Rin songs though, just go to vocaDB and look for Rin songs on each of her voicebanks pages, sorting by rating (ex: http://vocadb.net/Ar/14 for her V2 voicebank, http://vocadb.net/Ar/347 for her Append Power). That should get you to a few good producers that use Rin as well.

A bit of an update, I've been playing some more to unlock more outfits and improve. I can now do some songs like Love Hate and Colorful x Melody on Hard, but certain songs like Doubleganger and Kagerou Daze still give me trouble on Normal. You guys all listen to the same pop artists, dress in the same brands' clothes, watch the same TV shows, read the same books, have the same constitution, federal laws, etc.

I usually give the songs 3 chances in a row. If I don't do good after the third try I skip the song and try later.

My reasoning is: I usually do a lot better in the second try than the first but the third try does not feel any better than the second. Keep trying after three times looks useless unless I'm chasing a Perfect.

Considering we're posting on /jp/, I can bet nobody else here cares about chinkloids. I agree that the Chinese vocaloid scene is still in it's infancy, but that what makes it interesting, producers are still experimenting with the format and there's a wide range of music styles coming out

I'm sure youu realize it, but it's absolutely essential that you can use both the buttons and the D-pad with equal skill and speed, and that you can switch between the two quickly, one after the other.

If you can't, practice solo with the one your weakest with until you git gud.
