The last thread was great, so why not have another one? Any content about things that happened from the 70s-90s is welcome here.
This is something that I heard about recently.
You guys know how Tokimeki Memorial had no panty shots or other fanservice like that, right? Well, in the concept art and original pictures there were supposed to be a few glimpses at the girl's underwear.
Indecent wind.
More concept art.
Nobody is safe.
Would Tokimemo had been as successful if it was a normal eroge?
Do you mean 1970-1990 or 1970-1999?
Tokimemo peeping scene, PC Engine version
Tokimemo peeping scene, Playstation & Saturn versions
PC Engine
PS/SS
Honestly the proportion of people here who played Tokimeki Memorial all the way through is probably under 10% by now.

He said 90s, so up to 99 would presumably be allowed. The last thread, if it's the one I'm thinking about was about the early 90s. 99 was almost 20 years ago anyway.

My Saturn and I still yet live.

Roommate Ryoko best waifu
I don't know if this is applicable to vintage thread so someone stop me if it isn't. Is anyone here reading slow motion? It's current, but deals with 80s themes. There are proper translation on it, but right now it's only up to chapter 3. I couldn't wait so I've gone ahead and translated raws for myself. Honestly my own translations are going to be shit compared to what whoever is doing the translations are going to be, but I can share the word files or whatever here if anyone wants them.

Nonomura got a Dreamcast port? They must have censored quite a bit of it.

Saturn
It's red-label (X指定, x-rated) so it's got bare tits, but strangely they cut all sex out of it entirely.
I've always wondered what was up with that, since Can Can Bunny Premiere, another red-label rated game, came out the same month with full sex scenes.
Do any of you know where to find any old NHK programs or any older Japan documentaries in general?

You might want to try your luck in nicovideo. Although you may only find clips and such.
>>16412570
Please do share them! I've been reading it and was really happy to even get these last two chapters' translations after the first one a while ago. It's a lot of fun learning about niche stuff like the pocket bell and more of the 80's J-pop scene, and I'm looking forward to getting the second tankobon in two weeks. Yakushimaru's character design is such an absolutely perfect embodiment of 80's style. I wish that kind of hairstyle was still popular.

>Kuro no Danshou
My friend bought a Saturn and I watched him play this but he was too dumb to get very far in it.
I miss my copies of kanno's games, collection used to be bigger
>>16411601
Didn't even know that the Sega Saturn had that many games.
>>16412570
seconding. it's been great so far up to chapter 3. you could always dump them on /a/.
>>16425376
I still never got around to playing Etsuraku. I'm still curious about it because of the Eve connections.
>>16425353
Only part I ever got stuck on was clicking on the cigarette at the end
>>16411473
>all the way through
Do you mean every ending? I only cleared Yuuko and Shiori.
>>16425537
The Saturn became the PC Engine successor that the PC-FX failed to be
>>16425646
He got stuck in the opening scene
>>16425629
It's ok if just because of the Eve connection.
>>16425601
adding to this, i've started dumping everything up to chapter 3 on /a/ for slow motion if anyone's interested

Has anyone been digging through the older stuff on sadpanda? Like stuff from the early comikets, like C34, or the really early issues of Comic Penguin Club Sanzokuban and Lemon People. It is interesting to see in doujinshi of that time revealing that the LN format was already around and kicking. For some reason, there is a gap spanning the 1990s in H-manga publications, a few tanks, a mass of doujinshi, but nothing in the way of magazine scans.

That's a good idea I haven't checked there yet.
Maybe I'll dump a few I've come across over the years

This one was a really great NHK program from the 80s profiling Osamu Tezuka, unfortunately the audio has been muted on it, if anyone has a backup I'd love to watch it again

Japanorama was pretty decent from what I remember too.
If anyone has anything else like this please share them. I'm sure I missed some good ones too, if I remember anything decent I'll post them here if people are interested.

This one's pretty interesting too, a snapshot of early Canadian otaku fandom. There used to be a full version with more of a focus on the Japanese side of things floating around but I can't find it anymore, hopefully it hasn't been taken down

I also just found this French doc from 94, can't vouch for the quality as I haven't watched it yet but it looks interesting

Here's one last French doc on the history of shmups.

I know that Youtube comments are cancer and you're usually better off not reading them, but did you see the comment mentioning http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4rfg81_osamu-tezuka-documentary_fun ? Seems like what you were looking for.
Working through the others you linked, though, these are fascinating.
>>16430118
That's it, thanks I missed that comment. That one is definitely worth a watch.
I found the rest of that Canadian news segment for anyone interested as well, it starts about 8 minutes into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhwVcIR1aQs
I need to start cataloguing all these, it sucks when they get taken down or muted. I know I'm forgetting some other ones too.
I just wish people had archived all the older NHK World stuff, the only one I can find is that Akihabara one with Ryukishi07. Those are pure gold.
