I think that you should absolutely use a wider vocal range.

If you've done processing with them (adding reverb, etc.), it doesn't come through; I would be more adventurous with it.

Listen to some tracks you enjoy, and try to think about how they make the vocals feel more 'full'. Sometimes artists have stems available, so that you can listen to them isolated from the rest of the song.

What people seem to not understand is that Miku herself is much bigger than vocaloid in general, and even if vocaloid is dying, Crypton will keep the Miku bubble going. They'll make concerts, games, merchandising and such, since there's still people to spend money on Miku. They'll also commission big names to do some music once in while, to avoid a total lack of new songs.
Also there's no need for get butthurt every time someone says vocaloid is dying, you can keep liking vocaloid music despites that.

The problem with this "Vocaloid is dying" thing is that it's just a vague statement there's no way everyone can either agree or disagree to it. If you mean the otaku scene then yes it's true things have slowed down in that regard, although Miku is nowhere near dead and there are still many events and such getting organized. With that said you didn't need to be a genius to understand a Vocaloid fade like we had seen one back then wouldn't last forever, it was obvious, so now things are continuing their path, changing and evolving as time passes by.

But saying Vocaloid (and UTAU) as a musical tool and as an artistic way of expressing oneself is dead? Absolutely not. There are still a huge amount of songs and arts constantly getting released, you just need to look them up. Just because artists you grew up with slowed down or stopped doesn't mean the scene is dead. Saying there are no good artists or songs out there anymore is so ignorant it hurts.

As far as I know they don't, the IP is owned by Sega if you put aside the licensing on Crypton's side. The button symbols are copyrighted by Sony but that is not that big of an issue.

Also, I value my time much more than my money. It was worth it, to me, to spend about a thousand dollars on a PS4, FT, X HD, the mini controller, and a VR headset. In the time other people have been wasting waiting, I've already spent about 500 hours having fun.
