That's not accurate: Byakuren notes that, if Koishi truly didn't think anything, she wouldn't be able to move in first place. She indeed wants to be accepted, as shown by her actions in HM.
Also, the fact that fans don't want her to suffer is the same, for those very reasons you listed: Flandre acts like a "normal" person and has taken some steps in the right direction by using her powers for useful stuff like destroying a meteor.
Koishi is stuck in a situation where she leads something that can be barely called life and even if she opens her third eye again, she'll have to suffer everything that made her close her third eye in first place.
