I've played Embodiment of Scarlet Devil years ago, but I hasn't played again since I switch to new PC. I don't remember I actually finished that one as well.

It really fleshes out the main character's story and the gameplay is more friendly to beginners than other games

either way get all the games and play whichever one you want (no decimal yet until you get good unless you want to play fighters) try to play til completion. if you get sick of grinding on one game try another, and go on from there
