I spent a really long time trying to kill Cirno in The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, one afternoon I spent almost 8 hours straight, only to never be able to reach Meiling.
Some weeks after I decided to never play the games again I found out that Lunatic was the hardest mode and not the easiest.

Because I thought a normal no-bomb run is something good to attempt at my skill level when first trying LoLK and pointdevice.

I've taken over 3000 shots of Eiki in StB so I'd assume she has the high score.
