Any way to run G-senjou no Maou on Debian?
>>
Start by installing Windows.
>>
You would think the WINE devs would get better after the clusterfuck that is Windows 10. What a waste.
>>
By boycotting the VN until the developers release it as open-source.

Does Stallman advocate for open source Visual Novels?
>>
>>16032295
Dunno if it's worth it man, that VN was some hardcore pretentious shit.
If it's old enough you could install Windows 98 in DOSBOX and play it that way. That's how I played Cross Channel. You're technically emulating every single instruction in userspace so it's not some crappy virtual machine.
>>
>>16032377
G-senjou runs fine on Wine retard.
>>
>>16039403
Stallman doesn't really care about things he doesn't use. He's a big hypocrite who only pretends to care about freedom.

Yay, now we can discuss Linux for longer.
What distro do you use?
>>
>>16044372
I don't use GNU/Linux since it's shit, thanks. OpenBSD here.

Rather than memeing and actually answering the question. If you want to know if a game runs in wine and how well google "winehq gamename". Then see https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22407
It appears that the game runs perfectly. so in order you use wine you must install it "apt-get install wine" and then run "WINEARCH=win32 game.exe" and it should work if you need japanese fonts noto is nice https://www.google.com/get/noto/help/install/ and prefece the command with LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 thus making the whole command line "LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 WINEARCH=win32 game.exe"
please go to #winehq on irc.freenode.net we are very friendly.

Sorry for necro bumping I guess. I just hate to see a thread like this that could be legitimate flooded with jokes also I completely left wine out of the command whoops so "LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 WINEARCH=win32 wine game.exe" I was kinda rushed to get the post out before the thread got bumped off but I doubt the fellow is still here.

G-sen took me ages to find how to start it without without the disc. It couldn't detect it was mounted. But I found some bits I had to change in gstring.exe and that worked. I can't remember the site.

I still haven't played it.

I like FreeBSD. However:

>>
>>16056724
You only need to have latest wine and you can just
"cdemu load 0 isofile" and the game will detect it, you only need to mount it to install the game.
It's easily scriptable for a launcher.

Neat, that's almost exactly my setup, except i use OpenBSD.
>>
>>16058522
I did not know of cdemu. It will be useful in the future, thanks.
