Having Maribael, Renko and Sumireko in top 10 already makes it beyond shit. Touhou is all about extraordinary girls and youkai living in magical world having unique super powers and shooting lasers at each other. And having 3 [almost] ordinary girls living in real world and not even using [proper] danmaku is a clear sign that anon doesn't appreciate Touhou at all. Also, having one or two characters you don't personally like in a top 10 doesn't automatically diminish the list maker's overall choice. I don't like Sumisumi myself, but I'm perfectly aware some people do. It's not a good top 10 because it's all characters I like/fap to. It's a good top 10 because it contains characters that are relevant, prominent, fleshed out, or starring in interesting works.

Try to see past your boner for youkai sluts.

The top ten is a terrible indicator of taste, anyway. Most people like most characters, at least to some extent, so the chance of any ten random characters seeming decent to most people is pretty high. The bottom of the list is far more revealing, especially if the characters there are from the print works, or if hating them is a meme on /jp/, both of which are pretty good indicators of a secondary.

There are 'hus whose inclusion in the top 10 can be a dead giveaway of a secondary, though.

For instance, if you've got non-characters like many stage 1-2 bosses (Sekibanki, Koakuma, Daiyousei, etc.), there's a fair chance you aren't voting based on canon material. In the manga, she spends half her appearances spouting misinformed guesses and sowing fear, and the other half shifting blame onto others (primarily Miko).

In the books, when faced with accusations of negligence and favouritism (despite claims of opposite), she first attempts to move goalposts, then outright refuses to comment (Symposium).

There isn't a single aspect to Byakuren's CANON (key word right here) personality that paints her as a sympathetic character. She's just this side of being an outright villain - if an incompetent one.

How is it related to this conversation? You were the only one who mentioned her. Or are you responding to those posts from 4 days ago? Then you definitely need to learn how to quote.

And anyway, she is meant to be unlikeable by whom? ZUN? If you're so knowledgeable about canon that you must know that almost all characters in Touhou have some negative traits or even obvious sins. Besides maybe some people like those traits.
