In theory, everything from PCB onwards has happened in more or less real-time, and we even have exact dates for a lot of events. Before that, ZUN didn't care about continuity (to the point of saying "Touhou is not a series, just a set of games with the same characters" back in the PC-98 days).

So Reimu should be 14 years older now than she was in EoSD. But with the vague art and multiple artists, the only character who seems to visibly age is Akyuu. You could probably handwave all this with "people live longer in Gensokyo, especially if they're spiritually powerful".

Here, you can see running water (presumably from a faucet by the looks), dish soap and cleaning sponges being used in Reimu's shrine, which is a relatively out of the way place. It looks like Gesnokyo's living standards/ tech level has either jumped dramatically the past few years or had always been very, very close to modern living standards.

The main point is that, the two sisters were working together to defend the moon on two fronts, and even if Yorihime got a draw on her end, the failure on Toyohime's end means it was a net loss for the both of them. Not really. If you think about it, once you understand the principles behind Gensokyo, you realize how little power supernatural forces have on you. If you acknowledge something as a "god," you are in turn acknowledging their divine nature. Acknowledging a god implies that you believe that their existence has authority over something. (Nature, morality, etc.) Rejecting a god then means that you believe there is another force at play that isn't sacred. Claiming to acknowledge a god while simultaneously saying they're full of shit is inherently contradictory, because if they're full of shit, they can't be gods. Sakuya proclaiming her atheism is another way of saying she thinks that "gods" are just supernatural weirdos who prance about proclaiming their divinity while having none. (Which to a certain degree, is true in the Touhou lore)
