Gust currently has three games as part of their "Beautiful Girls Festival" project.

The first is Atelier Firis which is currently set for September 29 in Japan. The cast is quite large and there's 23 confirmed characters so far.

>>
The second game is Nights of Azure 2.

The third game is a new IP, Blue Reflection. It features illustrations by Atelier Arland artist, Kishida Mel. It's genre is known currently as a "heroic RPG" and it also has mahou shoujo vibes.

Finally, a new project from Akira Tsuchiya is also to be announced on September 16. This is a cross between Toei Animation and Gust so it will likely be a new original anime.

Alright anons, finally got off my ass and decided to play Ar tonelico 1.
After downloading the lazy pack and extracting them, game runs uber slow and graphics have lines and whatnot

What settings, what plugins and what do I do in general to make it perform to a slightly bearable state

Running it on a very very VERY crappy laptop right now cause main pc is undergoing maintenance. Kill me

The japanese PS+ gets Yoru no Nai Kuni this month. Also they just started a sale for the TGS that includes most of the Atelier games (not Sophie, but that was on sale last month)

I considered it but most of their stuff seems overpriced. I almost got the wooden box for the crystal paperweights because I thought it came with 9 of them, but it only comes with one. Maybe if they have some decent Comiket stuff. I barely missed out on the Atelier straps from two years ago and am hoping they sell them again one of these years.

So, in the AT novel Tyria resurrects with a Heart of the Land as her core instead of Triangular Nuclear Loop.
So, after, that happens, can she leave the Harvestasha serve range without melting? Hell, can she cast Song Magic after that?
I just remembered about Border disease, and if Aoto picked her, couldn't it be dangerous for him to live near the Towers' server network? I'm not sure the problem behind the disease is ever fixed in the series, and it's unlikely to be fixed shortly after the end too.
>>
So Gust currently has 4 new projects running. Did they ever have that many at once?

They had all of two game series before (Ar Tonelico and Atelier). So, no.

I guess development of Atelier has been simplified, because it runs on KT's Musou game engine now.
That's also why the Dusk series onwards has a big 3D graphics improvement over Arland.

They should have made Firis take place only 2 years after Sophie. That way she could be 20 in the last game.

Personally I like the lack of time limits, and Sophie's take-it-easy approach.

I already have a ton of project deadlines in college, I don't want to turn on my console to see yet another deadline.
>>
>>15785674
A month late? More like 5 years too early.
>Once the translation for Atelier Marie + Elie is complete and released, I'll look further into properly translating the game.

I'm not going to sit on my ass for 3 more years waiting for him to "look further into translating the game".
Working on the online version isn't any different from working on the offline version at this moment, and by the time the progress reaches the point of difference the clusterfuck on the Vita hacking front will have been resolved and Ciel Offline with its DLC will have been dumped.
>>
>>15786769
You say that without knowing that Marie is already translated in full, that Elie has got a significant part of it ready, and that he's already done a lot figuring out how the script files, menu xmls and stuff work, and what can and can't be done with them.

Also working with Online is a waste of time due to the lack of access to the game's full script, and you only expose your ass to getting banned by doing that, as the connection to Gust's servers is done through PSN.
>>
Half of Firis' cast are alchemists, the fuck? I wonder how the story will pan out.
>>
>>15786800
>You say that without knowing that Marie is already translated in full, that Elie has got a significant part of it ready
I stand corrected then. It's nice to know that M+E translation will be released in 2.5 years, soon after its beta 28 is done with.

>and that he's already done a lot figuring out
Good for him.
My only regret is that the game wasn't dumped when the method was discovered first, like 6 months ago. All its file formats would've been already investigated and the tools for handling them written by now otherwise. Which is the whole point of working on Online right now fyi, the whole script is not even needed. Just as the console itself, technically speaking, especially when the Vita doesn't even have a functional debugger to help with the hacking in the first place.

With all the due respect of aquagon's autism, he's just a random fucker and the game deserves at least two random fuckers working on it. So here I am and I'm not going to leave it be.
>>
>Shurelia keeps asking me to go out with her in other peoples cosmopheres

>>
>>15786942
You're overlooking a major point
>Online
It's a non-starter. You literally have to be online and connect to Sony to play it.
>You could still be working on it
No, because you'd have to run it to test your work maybe?

Offline is the only option for a patch. Period.
I know I'm going to dump my cnsie scripts for the potential future project, honestly the translation isn't the hard part right now.

I'm playing Sophie as my first Atelier game, how the fuck do I get Fritz to show up? He's the only thing keeping me from progressing, and I haven't been able to get him to show up for weeks on end. It's honestly enough time passing that I feel like I'll probably get a bad ending from time expiration.
>>
>>15790998

1. There is no "time expiration" in Sophie.
2. He shows up when you get a request from the barkeep to investigate a haunted shack in a nearby forest.
3. Check your to-do list in the menu.

>>15794412
Nah Rorona is a decent place to start. This "Rorona is bad" meme needs to die.
>>
>>15794340
Sophie is the best starting point in the series by far. It's the first game of a trilogy, has no time limits and has a crafting system that is engaging, intuitive and interactive.

It's easier to convince a player that already likes a beginner friendly game of a series to play the harder games of the series than to convince a new player to learn unintuitive systems because he might end up liking the series afterwards.

Initially, I thought Sophie and Firis were taking place in the same universe as the Dusk series, but Escha being a loli and Logy not recognizing her pretty much indicates that it's just popular character inserts, not unlike Fire Emblem and rehashing Tharja, Cordelia, and others.

OK, then what was the point of the whole "she literally can't be returned" thing? They could have at least said "it's possible, but it requires lots of research", or "theoretically possible, but we have no idea how to do it, so give up", and then Zill's thing is just another genius stunt (it's kinda a theme with her how she casually does good things that help save the world and that nobody else would be able to do, for her own retarded goals).
But they literally said "you can't do that". And it came out after AnS.
Did they not bother to rewrite the script, or did Zill just casually do something stated to be completely impossible off-screen?

Anyways, I feel bad for you guys. Mobage is shit.
>>
>>15800975
My guess is he's doing this as a stopgap until there is a team ready for his next full game. Like I said earlier Gust are making three games at the moment and likely don't have the staff for one more. He probably has another project lined up for when the staff become available.
>>

>>
>>15800924

Pretty much.
it is basically retconned as it shouldn't have been possible to return something converted into energy back to the original physical state, but Zill found a way with song magic. She then resurrected Kannon and taught her how to sing it.
>>
>>15801596
How can it be a retcon if the chapter came out after AnS?
Or could they not literally just fix text in the episode, at least in a handwavy way? I'm not even talking about rewriting a bit of the whole structure of the chapter so that Ion talks about it with Sarly for a minute, and Sarly dismisses the idea, or something, while still leaving it technically possible.
Or hell. Just say "we will do research for that after the song", just as they did with "we will return you home" thing. Since the song doesn't suceed, it's dropped, just like Ion's return plan.

>Or could they not literally just fix text in the episode, at least in a handwavy way?

They probably could have, but Gust's efforts at that point was probably more concerned with fixing gameplay than with the story's oversights. I'm more annoyed about Casty's final song magic being a literal colony drop into the new planet and there isn't even a cas-delta conversation about what the fuck that means for them.

Jesus Christ the difficulty spikes in Ar Nosurge are sometimes absolutely brutal.

I'm playing through on Veteran on the advice of some internet person, and while random fights are never threatening, I've had to lower the difficulty to Hard for both of the boss fights I've been through, and just now I had to lower it to Normal for something that WASN'T even a boss fight, just a scripted battle against three robots!

It's the fight that triggers when you go back to the "Gate to the Demon World" and bump into Tattoria getting beat up. I couldn't break any of them and they got THREE attacks against me times two enemies, while I can only block three times.

Are there more retarded battles like that in the game?

Because Ion loves dragons, machinery and giant crotches.
I think it was actually mentioned in her description in AnD that she likes dragons, at least. Mecha is obvious.
Also, it is the best Song Magic in the game. The only competition is a squad of Chumpi carpet bombers, but the dragon Song Magic is also more powerful, and dragons are better than cute birds, especially with mecha on them.
>>

In your opinion which Gust game has the best boss music?
>>
>>15803819
The same, though I did manage to get Zill on Veteran... after about 10 tries and lots of equipment rearrangement and planning. It was fun but it took quite a toll on me. Here's where I really understood how important both your equipment and your tactics can be.
I think Nelico can be theoretically beaten if you get the equipment from the other channel before they disconnect and then grind in the only location you're given for a bit. I decided not to bother. Honestly, giving you a boss first thing into a channel was kinda evil anyway.
The robots are the same. I honestly didn't expect that to happen, so I lost quite a bit of progress here before I switched to Normal
Boss battles on Veteran are all kinda like that, swapping between doable and impossible, and the harder ones are in the beginning. It also doesn't help that you can't always get good equipment prior to them happening if you weren't prepared. They do get easier once you get closer to the end, especially once you get better healing.
Just change it back and forward on case-by-case basis. And get lots of healing items, the best you can find. For that matter, do Synthesis as much as you can. Equipment also, surprisingly, makes a big difference, a good equipment set can make an impossible battle just slightly hard. Equipment includes Genometrica crystals too and buffs-debuffs, those are hella useful.
A good one is "position swap" cathode, it swaps the front and back rows of whoever you use it on, ignoring bosses. Which means, if you use it on a mook that is standing in front of a boss, the boss will move forward, and then stay there (since the cathode doesn't work on him). Also, break enhancement is good for obvious reasons, and I myself was quite partial to continuous damage on area attack (use one attack, and then ignore everybody, they're getting damage anyway).
>>15803826
Dunno, I got through the entire game on Veteran. I think some people said it "made enemies like stone walls" somewhere, but honestly, I think it just made them an actual challenge instead of a paper wall. When you can't beat half a wave in one turn it forces you to use your resources wisely, manage breaks, choose whether to spend Harmonics (for breaks and damage) or save up Harmonics (for Genometrica buffs, support attacks and scale progression) and to deal constant damage to enemies at the same time.
I actually love the battle system in this game. Some of the most fun I had in years. I also like how open-ended it is, it's simple in concept, but you can use different playstyles in it, and yet it has quite a bit of character.
>>
>>15804530
How about you stop bitching and start thinking? Chimon has done confidential research the Tenmon researchers have never even thought of, so if they could create something as demented as Exsphere nosurge, what's there to stop Zill from making something that does the opposite like what em-pyei-n vari-fen jang; does?
>>
>>15804692
That's possible.
That wasn't at all in the File 5, but it its an option. Even Almetica probably doesn't know everything.

Just seems like a cheesy fanservice-y way to whore out all their characters. I'd rather have them focus on making a better main line game. Also, I don't want them to go back and ruin characters either.
>>
>>15806267
Never considered they might ruin the characters, but I was thinking something less story heavy like a rhythm/music game (like Theatrhythm, not an Atelier: Dancing All Night kind of game) or even musou where there isn't much in the way of story or dialog. But I get your point.
>>
>>15804611

even on hard, there are some notable spikes. The first actual boss is a real eye opener to how the combat needs to be taken, even when you wipe the floor with the random encounters.

Really, it comes down to whether breaking the boss will drop their attacks from 3 per phase to 1, and whether or not you have the correct stockpile of items to get you where you back up to full health (or top barrier, at least) when your turn starts if breaking the boss does nothing.
>>
>>15804202
As far as I know they already fixed major bugs and added missing scenes, so it's pretty much more or less complete. It shouldn't be that far to a full release.

Just a quick question. The last game of the dusk trilogy isn't on the vita euro psn. What's up with that?

Also why are they still at 40€?

And I've heard Ar Tonelico 3 is shit. Should I just watch/read a lp then? I've liked the first two(well i'm at the end of the 2nd) but I find them really slow.
>>
>>15819312
Battles are plain awful and about the only real reason to miss it entirely (though not to "the worst of all times" degree people talk about, just really bad, boring and frequent),
Cosmospheres are the best in the series, story is a fitting conclusion (though maybe a bit weaker than Metafalica). Probably worth going through entirely for the conclusion to the series, at least if you feel for Ar Cielans losing their planet and want them to fix things.
Also, nudity is too obvious and in-your-face for many people.
And two of the three girls aren't really popular with people, one of them especially. Tyria is the best, though, but she might not appear at all if you get one of the three bad "everybody dies really-really fast/relatively slowly" endings.
BGM is overall more generic than in the previous games, though still Gust levels of quality, and Hymns are some of the best in the series.
Synthesis is just like in the rest of the series. I found it better than AT2 but worse than AT1 and AnS. But I have weird opinions in general. Oh, synthesis dialogues are alright as usual.
Slowness, I dunno, I never thought any of them were slow, I hardly feel pace in general. It's shorter than the other two games if it counts.
I liked it and would recommend it if you played the other games in the series. But then again, I never got the whole "it's absolutely irredeemable" talk, anyway.
The only thing that really was boring was the battle system, in my opinion. But that's my opinion.
>>
>>15819312
AT3 was one of Gust's very first forays into 3D and they had no idea what to do with the additional dimension in battles.
So they came up with some weird "everyone runs around like headless chickens" sort of thing with fanservice (and manservice) tossed in.
>>
>>15819360
Hu, if the battle are bad I'll just watch an lp then.

By slow, I mean you have to do a shitload of walking across empty corridor.

If the battle are worse and I can't use the speed boost of an emulator then I'll probably take forever to finish it.
>>
>>15819416
Dunno then, depends on how thorough the playthrough is. Especially Cosmospheres and arguably Synthesis/bedtime dialogues.
Does anyone know, what if you put the battles on Easy? I never tried it for some reason, but would it make them faster and less annoying?
>>
>>15819426
Well the let's play archive usually have some pretty complete lp and I think I saw AT3 on there
>>
>>15819312
It's not shit. There are specific aspects that certain people didn't like and complained about a lot, but overall it has more similarities to the other two than differences, and it's necessary to complete the whole story. I guess you could watch someone else if you just wanted the story.
>>
>>15819400
>everyone runs around like headless chickens
I think that's a good analogy for all the shit that happens in Ar Ciel and Ra Ciela. Just a bunch of people each with their own sense of justice leading down an unfortunate path.
>>
>>15819624
More so in Ciel Nosurge, I feel.
I don't think there's a point between Acts 4 and 11 where characters are not in some kind of tough spot, and very rarely they aren't held hostage by somebody. They're also never in complete control of where they want to go since Act 4.
Also, yeah, it's a big theme in the series about how the heroes know nothing at the beginning, and the first few acts are usually spent gathering information, stopping people from doing retarded stuff on incomplete information or doing retarded stuff due to incomplete information.
It's mostly in later acts that they actually start working against the real problem itself, usually.
It's even more in contrast if you think about AT1 and its "clean" subacts with definite goals in each one and timeskips in-between.
>>
>>15819723
Though there wasn't any of a timeskip between AT1's Phase 1 and Phase 2: Phase 2 started right after Phase 1 ended, and the Phase 2 goals weren't really well-defined if you went down Aurica's path.
>>
>>15819444
These LPs are really shitty though.
>>
When and how did you become a gustfag, /gust/?

For me it's pretty much just because they happen to align with the two most important things I look for in games: cute girls and great music.
>>
>>15821378
I was already a JRPGfag, and when Atelier Iris came out I gave it a go not even knowing it was part of a series and loved it. That led to playing the other Iris games (not as good) then Mana Khemia, then Ar Tonelico, etc. etc. etc....
>>
>>15821378
Well, I can tell you when I became an atelierfag. To this day, these two are still my favorite.

I find the series very tasteful and yes, the music is excellent as well. Like the anon above me, I've always been into jrpgs though this is really the only series left that I still like. Maybe I will become more of a general gustfag if Blue Reflection is indeed good. Though even with just Atelier they're one of my favorite devs.
>>
>>15821378
Bought Atelier Totori Plus on a whim when it first came out. Ended up liking it, but not enough to pursue the others. A little while later I similarly bought a used copy of Atelier Ayesha on a whim. I absolutely loved the game and bought up all of the other PS3 Ateliers immediately after finishing it. Then I got Ar Nosurge and loved that too. Currently wrapping up YnnK which is also great. I keep meaning to play Gust's older stuff but haven't gotten around to it yet. Oddly enough my first Gust game (Totori) is my least favorite.
>>
>>15821284
Yeah I saw that. Oh well, I'll find something.

I just finished AT2 a few hours ago.
I had to use a lp because the rom would get stuck at the loading scene right after you drop the rim, which is literraly one dungeon before the end of the game

The story was too dramatic, I prefered the adventurous feel of AT1 but eh, it was still fun.
>>
>>15825371
Though AT2 made far better use of its setting and integrating it with its story and characters. AT1 is far too simple with its plot.

I don't know why some of you guys are okay with them whoring out Gust's Atelier characters like this. What a great a start to this tgs. I didn't have my hopes up but no, of course they need to go and announce something that actively pisses me off. I like KT games but at the same time I wish they would've never bought Gust. They really need to just leave Gust the fuck alone. Atelier is not and has never been about slaying huge masses of random dudes. This is just tacky and cheap as fuck. The posts above are not both from me you know. And yeah, I did overreact a little but I'm still not happy about this. I didn't care much about Sterk being in that one game though the DoA Atelier costumes were annoying. I just don't see why this is necessary. One of things I like about Atelier the most are the characters and I'd rather not see them in some all stars musou game. I know it's a spinoff and obviously not canon or anything but it still seems like such cheap pandering. Though on the other hand, I'm glad Gust themselves are not wasting their time making it so I guess that's good.

But the various panty shots, bikini/hot springs scenes, lewd clothing, etc. from the past seven Atelier games were fine and not tacky at all right?
>>
>>15833171
I guess I'm just used to it because of Smash, Dissidia, and similar stuff but it doesn't bother me. As long as they keep their personalities the same I'm fine with it. It's a bit strange seeing them take down tons of humanoid enemies but then again I've killed scores of bandits in Rorona and it didn't bother me then.
>>
>>15833178
Yeah, they were fine actually. The Arland hot springs scenes were done well for the most part and the games were certainly not about throwing tits and ass in your face every two seconds. Sophie didn't even have an event like this and Plachta's outfit was fine too.

I said it before but Atelier is just out of place in a musou game and because of that, this feels really forced. Though all-stars games and mash-ups in general are always pure fan-service so I guess this isn't too different from others. I've calmed down and I'm not trying to start anything further. I just don't see this game as a good idea.

The really funny part is the first boss of phase 2. I'm playing the game on veteran yet once again right now, and god. After some synthesis on Ion's side it turned out to be quite easy in the end, but going there unprepared, or just with a bit of farming instead of lots of it is ridiculous.
Reviews saying that it's "too easy" while playing on normal always makes me laugh since "normal" is supposed to be "casual wanting to enjoy the story and that's it", while veteran is definitely doable I wouldn't call it "too easy". Right now since I understand the attle system pretty well it works, but during my 1st playthrough? This would have been brutal.

I found Nelico quite easy but then again I grinded for something like half and hour before her in order to unlock some commands, and always 2reate 2 copies of all cathodes/RNA/Bios. Not that it matters much for Nelico since Earthes doesn't have enough slots at the beginning.

And yeah I was slaughtered by the Tattoria even too on veteran, forgot it was here. After a bit of diving/some level up they're easy to manage but if they come to you without you expecting it? Instant rape.

Aside from this I wonder what the next nosurge game we'll get is. Since Tsuchi said that he wants this to be a "big franchise" like Tonelico or Atelier I guess we'll have one sooner or later but the question is when. I'm pretty sure they're also waiting for the PS VR to be really used so that you can use it for some things like the genometrics or things like that This'd be interesting.

I don't believe GUST has the mental capacity for a cosmosphere scenario for diving into the main heroine's cosmosphere and having her fall in love with the diver as a true /u/ experience and not a gag-type experience for perhaps one or two levels.

Wait, he intended it to be a big franchise?
I thought Nosurge was strictly about Ion's story, and once it ended, Nosurge ended as well, kinda like Tonelico ended when the Sea of Death was done with (not counting novels).
I thought next he would go to an entirely different planet for a new story.
Or do you mean that he either sticks to Ra Ciela for a new story, or that the only thing Nosurge is really about is Interdimend, and he will just give us a story about another planet meddling with other dimensions? Those are the only options I can think of.

>>15821378
I was kinda interested in AT even when I didn't know Englsih as well yet. I don't even remember where I heard about it. Maybe it was some retrospective. Maybe I just stumbled onto a song. Probably the second, I remember EXEC_FLIP_ARPHAGE/. being one of the first I heard.
In any case, I'm sure by the point I actually got around to playing it, I've already wanted to play the series for several years now. I think, what stopped me, was that the translation project was not yet even close to completion then. Or maybe I just felt my English couldn't handle it, who knows by this point.
Well, anyway, I played it, I loved it, I wanted to play more and discuss things about it, thus I found this thread. I think it's about the only place where I could discuss these games (not counting one my friend who actually played it too, which was a surprise for me).
My love for the series only grew more as I went on too.
I didn't like Atelier (at least the one title I played) much, though, so I'm not sure if I'm a certified gustfag. I guess I at least tried playing it, and I want to try out Yoru too. Maybe that counts.
Oh, or were we talking about why we loved the games? Well, for me, with AT/SC, it was the setting, tasteful compsci and physics references, a cool premise, a refreshingly light tone (also mixed for post-apocalyptic world for an interesting effect and occasionally surprisingly realistic politics), an interesting theme and philosophy (not always something I agree with or appreciate, but there are interesting things they do with the whole "human bonds" undercurrent), overall thrilling story (though occasionally there is a bit too much running around, but I guess that's intentional), and, well, really cute girls and really great music. Oh, and I guess the visual design was kinda cool too, especially concerning the Towers.
I guess that's about it. In the end, I just felt it was good, so I liked it. Not really much more to it.

It's a necessary part of her profession
>>
Should I play the Ar Tonelico games in order or are they fairly stand-alone?
>>
>>15836139
You can play them out of order but they are better played in. There are reappearing characters and reoccurring plot points.
>>
>>15836139
They're fairly stand-alone, but better play them in order.
All the cast is new in every game, and each one has its own plot and objective. However, there are recurring characters, and previous games' consequences feed into the next game's plot points in an indirect way.
It's also kind of neat to see the subtle build-up to the third game's resolution (or even being possible) in the previous two games.
>>
>>15821378
After experiencing a few Atelier soundtracks, and Nights of Azure's soundtrack, I just can't enjoy the soundtracks of other JRPGs anymore.

To clarify: I still play other JRPGs, but I just find their music lacklustre in comparison now.
>>
>>15836712
I don't know if I'd go that far, but Gust indeed has consistently excellent music for their games. Ar Nosurge and Atelier Ayesha are right up there with Nier for my favorite OSTs of the past decade.
>>
Damn. I just filled the date list for Ciel nosurge but Nelico isn't showing up for the marry Ion trigger event.
This worries me a bit.
>>
>>15838159
Oh, well, she showed up after a lot of timeskipping. I feel silly now.
>>
>>15838159
>>15838232
I have a question related to this. If I screwed it up somehow on my original game, is it possible to skip through most things in the offline version from the start on a new game in order to correctly get all the dates?

I'm thinking skip through the memories story, skip through sleeping, cooking, and crafting, and wait a few minutes when Ion is out gathering for Nelico to show up with new cards. Not sure if I'm missing something with how offline works.
>>
>>
>>15836139
They're stand-alone, but do yourself a favor and play them in order. Other anons mentioned plot-related reasons, but I'd like to add that AT1 is simply the best starting point for exploring the series because it's the most straightforward installment if we take game mechanics and world exploration into account.
>>
>>15840269
I'm hoping they incorporate more items into her (and any other alchemist's) moveset. I never used much melee combat in the games, at least not with the protags.
>>
By the way, when you go back in time with Interdimend, does it spawn new timelines?
If it does, doesn't it mean that there are technically right now 9 timelines where I died on Veteran battle with Zill, and 9 dead/captured Ions from them? Doesn't that make easy and boring Normal difficulty the only moral choice?
And what if I saved as Earthes, walked two steps in some direction and then turned off the game? Does it mean there's now a world where I just completely disappear forever after making these two steps and leave Ion alone? It's not like I even abandon her: I return in an hour, to my Ion with all her memories prior to these two steps no less, and help her return home and save the people of Soreil. It's just that there are technically now two my Ions and one me.
On the other hand, if I remember the Dimension Theory right, technically possibility trees of our and EXA_PICO universes are separate (I think) and shouldn't affect one another, so it's possible that we actually connect to a single possibility line and reform it through our 7th-dimensional connection, so it doesn't spawn the new timeline. That would mean that us picking choices actually changes the internal layout of this possibility line and EXA_PICO in general. The fact that is in support of that theory is that all the characters pick the same choices in a certain game, and never change them randomly, which means they all don't change possibility lines. Then the only other party that could potentially change everything is actually another player, though, since he technically has the same power to reform the possibility lines (unless he rage quitted).
Unless it doesn't work like that.
Or that could depend on implementation of Interdimend. Technically they could either make it imitate normal timeline spawning for simplicity or reform timelines from inside for a more optimistic outcome.
I'm probably overthinking this, but I just couldn't stop thinking about it, even during the game. Conventional morality really doesn't survive the contact with multiple dimensions, it seems.
Is there any information that could shed some light on this?
I really wish there was a Technical Data Compilation Room that was still alive. Interdimend in general raises lots of questions.
>>
>>15839430
The only difference is that you can fast-forward time from the main interaction menu.
You'll of course have to see all the memories, but you can skip the wait to restore them. You'll have to ask Ion to craft and look for ingredients, but you can skip the wait for that too.
This is limited by how may HymP you have (you spend one HymP per minute skipped), though.
>>
Uh, I think I'll be able to get a PS3 soon.
I know shit about the PS3 scene. Is there a go-to place for JP disc images? I want to play AT3 and I didn't learn Japanese for nothing.
>>
>>15841977
>I didn't learn Japanese for nothing.
Yes you did. Be honest.
>>
>>15839430
Time skipping costs 1HymP per minute. There are a few other changes to Offline like how you can go on dates immediately or later the day ion proposes them, but it is largely identical functionally to online in that regard.

Sharl wishes are still daily only (network check required, no local clock skipping) and same with quasar so you may find HymP to be a limiting factor depending on how quickly you are trying to go.

In the course of CnSiE recording though I have only done about 20 sharl wishes total, 40 or fewer quasar contribs and have still been able to time skip most things using memory recovered HymP alone so that may not be a problem even.

>>
>>15850836
What happens in the DLC? I have to wait for it in English.
>>
>>15850903
Two things actually happen concurrently in this after-the-end DLC.

Sophie discovers Plachta can't actually taste food. She begins to think of a way to help Plachta enjoy life like a normal human.

Meklett and Atomina are sighted around the area. Sophie and Plachta give chase and talk to them. Turns out they still want to do normal alchemy. Plachta reveals she has an incomplete recipe memo of the Cauldron of Knowledge.

After a few days of thinking and trying, Sophie synths the Guide of the Fast Learner, which is a cauldron that will let Meklett and Atomina perform simple alchemy. They remark that Sophie has amazing potential and she's wasted on Plachta. They banter with Plachta for a bit before leaving for their own journey.

Julio tells Sophie that a faraway city has a test that gives the Alchemist title. Sophie begins to think about leaving for the city. She prepares for her journey by synthing the tent you see in >>15845111.

I don't want to spoil too much so I left out a lot of details. The new character interactions were pretty fun.
>>
>>15850984
I still believe Plachta is soft and fleshy and about 95% the same as a regular human girl. She can eat and drink so that means it has to exit somewhere. She can see, hear, and feel touch too. I like to believe that her soul entering the doll body sort of magically "filled it out" and made it become human. She doesn't have doll joints and she looks soft in the illustrations.

It would be nice if they could not do anything to ruin this head canon. Or maybe they could find a way to make her officially human.
>>
>>15851687
>Or maybe they could find a way to make her officially human.

I've never really put much effort into it before since I don't really care about mobage but they tend to region lock their apps so you can't do a normal install with an out of region phone.

Guess I'll figure it out and test some granburu or something so I won't have to struggle when trinary comes out.
>>
>>15853173
There are a lot of problems, which vary from game to game. Some accounts require a Japanese phone number or valid mobile e-mail address for registration for instance. Then there are general issues with things being updated or not functioning properly when Google or Apple changes their stores to try and force people to use their own.

There can also be problems within the applications themselves. In this particular case, if it's just AR it might not have any, but if it also used GPS, that might cause some problems for people unless it can be spoofed.

As for VPNs and GPS spoofing, they usually can be used to get around some problems and let you play normally, but obviously not everyone has the knowhow to get them working and many VPN applications introduce speed or stability issues.

Of course sometimes we just luck out and you can grab an APK and experience zero problems. It all depends on the game.

Trinary Character Profiles (names English style)

"The happy, ever-smiling air-head girl"
[RED] Tsubame Ohse
Age: 15
Birthplace: Shizuoka
CV: Mariko Takeda

A girl who spent the majority of her middle school days hospitalized due to illness. She learned from that experience and does her best to remain positive no matter how tough things get. She's a huge fan of the popular artist FreyMENOW and came to Tokyo alone in order to see his performances. However...

"Former Kendo girl and the first Trinary"
[BLUE] Ayami Kunimasa
Age: 21
Birthplace: Nagano
CV: Mitsuki Nakae

She takes her role as manager for Trinary seriously, going out of her way to take care of the others. During high-school she participated in the Kendo club. She was skilled enough at the time to represent Japan at the World Championships. She likes bicycle touring as a hobby, and her friends call her "Aya".

"A crack-shot that hates to lose"
[GREEN] Gabriella Lotluinska
Age: 14
Birthplace: Poland
CV: Yuki Yagi

She's a military brat obssessed with winning and losing. She is very strict with herself and everyone else around her, and expects nothing the best in everything she does. She is the youngest of the Trinaries, and uses a variety of guns in battle. She is often called "Gab" or "Gabbie".

"A mysterious, Tosa-ben speaking live-wire hacker"
[PURPLE] Miyabi Koigasaki
Age: 17
Birthplace: Kochi
CV: Ami Hagihara

Be it hacking, programming, or anything else, she's obssessed with and skilled with computers. She can cook too, if it's Japanese food. Born in Kochi prefecture, she mainly speaks in Tosa-ben, but uses a lot of IT and Networking jargon as well.

"A devlishly deceptive girl"
[YELLOW] Kagura Uzuki
Age: 15
Birthplace: Tokyo
CV: Emi Hirayama

While polite and hard working, she's also a bit clumsy and scattered at times. She joined the Trinary squad at the same time as Tsubame, and they're pretty close. The reality is that this easy-going girl wants to be a magical girl, and is a serious light-novel and video game otaku.

I bet you call Shirotaka old too, just because he still uses a G2-Tron instead of a Cielnotron.

Anon, it's hard to keep up with times when you're Satan, cut the guy some slack.

G2-Tron actually gives you more freedom than Cielnotron, though. Dumbphone just gives you more battery and less of everything not connected to phone calls, unless you are in Japan. I'm not sure how advanced/flexible Japanese filp-phones were compared to Android/iOS.
I think it's more comparable to Nokia N9 with its MeeGo versus Android/iOS, I think. Maybe Linux versus Windows, if you ignore the fact Linux is actively developed. More power and flexibility, not that attractive for newbies.
Also, I think G2-Tron isn't powered by a disembodied soul of a little girl abducted from another dimension, and if everybody stuck to them, the planet might not have died out, which I guess could serve as a good analogy for Linux/MeeGo not being proprietary.

Red will be all about LOVE! And FRIENDSHIP! And PASSION!

Blue will have a stick up her ass all the time until she turns dere.

Green will be the literal embodiment of the Navy Seals copypasta.

Purple will tell you to leave her alone until one day the NSA back-hacks her and the FBI shows up at her door and you have to shelter her for a few days.

Yellow seems great until you find out she shitposts on @chan and spouts memes constantly.

>Red will be all about LOVE! And FRIENDSHIP! And PASSION!
Maybe, but it would be interesting if we see the period of her being sick when we dive into her. Scenes of people being sick and lying in bed can be surprisingly fun.
>Blue will have a stick up her ass all the time until she turns dere.
I wonder if she will have some kind of unique dynamic of managing her social life, considering she's a university student. Unless they gloss over it.
>Green will be the literal embodiment of the Navy Seals copypasta.
That would be glorious, if they really go full /k/ with her. But for some reason I'm expecting well-done pretty interesting stereotype tsundere twintails at best, honestly. I hope that I'm wrong, though.
>Purple will tell you to leave her alone until one day the NSA back-hacks her and the FBI shows up at her door and you have to shelter her for a few days.
Is she a kuudere? It actually would be fun if she's both a stereotype of yamato nadeshiko (preferably with "Japanese" trait maxed out) and an enthusiastic hacker at the same time. It's naturally a controversial combination, which is what would make it so fun. Just your usual kuudere is more likely, though. Well, Tsuchiya's computer science references are actually pretty well done, so she might be fun to listen to for that reason alone, I guess.
Also, I fail to see how we would be capable of sheltering her from another dimension. I mean, I wouldn't even be against it.
>Yellow seems great until you find out she shitposts on @chan and spouts memes constantly.
I fail to see in what way is that a bad point. Also, she gets points in my book just for wearing a witch hat.
By the way, were characters designed by Tsuchiya or by Toei? I guess we can also expect different things depending on their origin studio.

Except for the fact that said soul isn't disembodied by the point the server was made.

Green is tsundere copypasta, just with a military family background as justification.

Like this morning's twitter exchange between her and kagura(yellow):

Works fine btw. Thanks again.

>>15853420
The pastebin torrent had a patch in it to fix the soft lock apparently.
>>
>>15862200
But it fixes it in a haphazard way and leaves the bad translation and all other bugs in.
>>
>>15862236
Well shit should I play the retranslated one then? How complete is it and Is it undubbed?
>>
>>15862288
You should, because it's plain better in every way.
It is absolutely complete, not counting minor bugs and maybe some proofing/missing scenes which were missing from NISA too. I think they want to fix every single little things NISA screwed up before they come out of beta.
I think undubbing is the requirement for a retranslation patch, but I'm not sure. In any case, I played through the whole retranslated game without a dub.
