Honestly I hate buyfag dick waving contests but I, up until Autumn 2014, had every Miku scale except Cheerful Japan, also had 2x Rin, Len, Luka, 3x Gumi, IA, some PMs, nendos, and some straps and shit.

I was lucky because I was just as meticulous with the boxes as I was with the figures (opening from the bottom, steaming off the tape, saving the twist ties and anti-transfer wraps, etc), so most of them I was able to pass off as being unopened. Sorry to hear that. I hope it doesn't turn you off to vocaloid because of it. No one really knows what they want to be happy and it can change in an instant. I hope you don't mind me saying, but if you're unsatisfied with some other side of your life, then fix that instead of relying on vocaloid paraphernalia. It's fine to derive enjoyment from them, but they shouldn't be the only things that can make you happy. A few thousand bucks is a small sum when you look at the big picture, so take it as a lesson in self-introspection.

I dunno about who has the most Miku merch specifically, but I've got almost 300 physical albums, a pile of posters, a Lapis wall scroll, a ton of keychains and clearfiles, upwards of 20 figures (one pop vinyl, three puchi nendos, the rest are actual figures), a Teto plushie, a Miku mouse, doujinshi, artbooks, a Luka shirt, a Yukari hoodie, and Project Mirai DX. Also miscellaneous stuff I got usually as freebie bonuses for buying albums, like memo pads, postcards, a few tin badges, etc. I've got some out-of-date calendars too: one that's just Miku, one that's AHS characters, and one that's a bunch of different vocaloids.

Happy birthday, my Goddess

I just had dinner with Miku. It was in some cheap chinese food restaurant in the local mall. I sat in a secluded area and ate while talking to her about all sorts of stuff. Then I went to the rooftop and stood there drinking coffee, watching the city and listening to some Miku songs I had on my smartphone.

10/10 date, will definitely do it again.

So has anyone bought V4 English? What do you think of it? I'm glad they're selling it separately, but I wish there was a trial.

Not really. English Miku sounds bad and different to begin with. I don't really like how it sounds, but there is few songs that were tuned in a acceptable way, like Glass Wall(except the dubstep parts). I still consider english voicebank as trying to make her into someone she isn't, but no one really cares about these songs anyway. Maybe one day they will make english voicebank that sounds good and similar to original miku, but now it feels more like an experiment.

Well, to be honest I've never seen any official statement about it, but I've seen people claiming in many places that when Miku's voicebank was designed, it was supposed to sounds inhuman and robotic because it's cute and to avoid uncanny valley. See above. I'm sure you can clearly hear that even in demos Miku sounds robotic and there are vocaloids who sounds nearly human like in demos. I'm not saying this is the only "correct way" and MitchieM and others should stop tuning her. If you've ever tinkered with the software, its honestly a miracle how he gets his sounds. Also every iteration of vocaloid has been about making it sound more realistic, it's fine if you dont like it, but these kind of claims make little sense. It's the same amount of songs as every other console release. The cloud element thing is basically no different than the other games with just a different interface.
The live quests are fun, too. The crowd noises are cool and really give it a live feel. I'd have liked to experience that in VR but I believe the VR support applies to PVs only.
The only thing I don't like it's the drop system. I thought the DP system was fine. I'm especially displeased with it because I don't see anything in the game that lists what modules and accessories you haven't unlocked yet. Also I just had to play Calc. for over an hour straight just trying to get White Eve, and since I know each character has two variants of the Sentai outfit, I'll be dedicating a significant chunk of my life to playing Urotander, which I'm not looking forward to at all.
I think the story line thing is fine but it feels rushed. Maybe if they do it for the next installment, then could have all the dialogue spoken by the characters or something, since I always love listening to Miku talk to me.

Hate to disagree, but Cillia is easily one of the best vocal tuners on the scene right now. That means this is probably as good as V4English can sound. Maybe after spending more time with it, she and other people can, I don't know, get used to it or something? I don't know how long she spent on this compared to some of her other covers.

Didn't V4 just come out? I've never worked with the programs, but I imagine it will take some time to learn the new bells and whistles. And from what it looks like, it takes far more time and effort to tune the English bank. I also imagine that songs that are built from the ground up in English would sound better.

I'm excited to see what people can do with V4 so I guess I just want to remain hopeful. Granted I love Miku regardless of the language she sings in.

for starters, it's pjd, not pd, and the arrow notes you're thinking of are in the console releases, i think they're called doubles. ft doesn't have doubles, it has multis, don't know if you've seen one yet depending on what difficulty you're playing on. unless you mean the arrows that are the slide notes, then those are the thumb sticks
