Who are some of your favorite Japanese illustrators?
I really like Tanaka Takayuki. His drawings feel
sort of retro, and are perfectly detailed.
toi8 is pretty good in my opinion, I like his artworks.

Yoshitaka Amano is probably my favorite, but I'll end up adding more to the thread later on. Most would recognize him as "that Final Fantasy guy", but he did other works such as Vampire Hunter D, which is how he received the attention of Squaresoft). I love his blending of the old Japanese style with modern themes.
I'll post a few pictures of his work to show why I like it so much.

I love Hanainu for his firm grasp of anatomy.
Oyari's older works have such soft shading and colors. It's great.
