Pic 4 is optionsl as there is a shift in style, but surely the amount of volume detailing make it dip a bit on the uncanny valley. It's the same reason smiling dolls are creepy instead of cute.

They seem... taller than I'd expect, at first glance? Also, Ikazuchi's shoulders (most of her upper body, really) seem pretty square, and Hibiki's bodyline feels a little bit weird. It might just be because of how it's interacting with her hair.

That might help. But yes its supposed to be a swimsuit dress with stockings. I didn't want to clunk out her design because she needs to be agile. I like short choppy bangs because I wanted to expose at least her eyebrows.

I'd chalk up most of my improvement to starting from rock bottom. I still don't know very much; I'm not even sure of what I do know. I have a very particular idea of how I want to express things, but it's a bit silly to have strong opinions on aesthetics when you can't realize them.

Most sketches are like this, just a collection of fragments. I'm not sure if this is what you want to see because there isn't really much in the way of steps to show. Typically, I repeat subject a bunch and there is something like 20 small leaves scrawled with ideas about that kneeling pose.

Speaking of that, sometimes I wonder why "orthodox" artstyles seem to be much more well received.
the reason is pretty obvious when we take big numbers of people and market shenanigans, but it feels kind of strange to me when it happens with close groups with extremely specific interests.
I mean, supposedly people with niche tastes should be more interested in artists with more bizarre or personal styles. its true that one thing doesn't exclude the other, but there is a pretty huge difference in feedback.

I never really cared about the amount of views, it's the amount of bookmarks, stars and followers that really "matters".

But yeah, If you're really popular you're sure to get a ton of everything whether it's OCs or not (like 23), but to get to that level of popularity doing fanarts of popular series helps a lot.

Anyway if you're good you'll someday get popular for sure, just have to be patient as fanbase comes with time and keep posting while hoping you'll get a drawing in the top rankings, which should help a lot.
