She gets crazy views and is very active so she is certainly making big bucks, several thousands of dollars a month. The most amazing thing is the frequency she does them because after eating 10lbs of food you'd think it would take longer than 24 hours for it to move through her innards and out the other end before she eats again.

Thing is that even though I have seen that one video where she shows xrays some doctor took of her (it didn't have any subtitles though) I believe firmly that she's bulimic. I mean it would be some kind of miracle for her to not get even bit of bloated when eating those amounts of food especially with the frequency she does her videos. I still like her though but she probably throws up her food and/or eats laxatives.

But it's crazy to think when she started it was just a small video shot with probably iphone or something and now it's pretty much commercial. Great for her though, I like her, she's not the smartest girl but it's good to see her being successful.

Nico is pretty small compared to youtube JP these days. It just didn't grow over the years like youtube did.

For example, otojya's channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/norunine) has more viewers than the entirety of nico's gaming section. And that's just one channel, there are a ton of other Japanese gaming channels dedicated to shitty mobile games too.

The only part of nico that's actually kinda big is nico live.

I can understand basic rudimentary Japanese and I watched that video. From what I gather in the video, her stomach is unique in that it can stretch much more than a average persons. And when she eats a large quantity of food, her stomach expands and pushes her other organs filling her body. Hence why she doesn't have a large gut after eating.

In her case, she's like a worm. She eats a lot. It comes out, not fully digested. It doesn't mean that nutrients weren't absorbed. It merely means that the process was incredibly inefficient.
To make the process more efficient, she could eat her undigested feces multiple times to ensure that it all gets properly digested.

I dislike seeing youtube more or less creating a monopoly for video content on the web, but their competition is garbage.
How the hell is nicovideo still using Flash in 20 fucking 16? Why is their video quality such a piece of shit? Even premium members are complaining about the download speed.

I have stopped going there and simply wait for コメ付き videos to pop up on youtube.
It's not like nicovideo allowed foreigners to post comments these days anyway, so nothing changes.

Nico isn't dead and probably never will die at this rate. It still has its own active communities with voiceroids and stuff. Some yukkuri series are actually funny. It's on a smaller scale than youtube, but they're still enough to fill chokaigi each year.

The original nico communities also still exist in a very reduced state (the im@s weekly rankings get like 1k view each). A lot of these suffered a lot during the nico copyright apocalypse of 2010.

Their player is piece of fucking garbage though. Getting the comments to scroll smoothly at high fps is a lost technology they will never recover.
