I'm glad they went back to Sophie's original outfit. I hated that yellow thing she got
>>
>>15534216
Neither one. It's a "beta" pretty much in name only, and most of the things they're still working on are enhancements rather than fixes. Get the patches that are out now and play it that way.
>>
>>15534226
It's very similar to the first outfit, but different. Obviously it's red instead of blue, and then the dress has long sleeves you can see underneath the coat's sleeves.

I didn't mind the yellow thing but I think the new one is better than both.
>>
>>15532454
>>15532486
I'm afraid they may have fucked up something with the lighting or shaders because the Firis models looked very flat compared to the Sophie ones. Compare the hair and face of skinny Oskar to Fat Oskar for the difference. the battle screenshots also looks iffy.
>>
>>15534226
I didn't hate her other outfit but I agree that her first one was a lot better.

I prefer moderately sized ones. Although tittymonsters are generally better than DFC.

Ion > Kanon > Cass basically but I like them all.

Speaking of Ar Nosurge, did they ever say what Nei Yuuki looked like? Or if Nay got her body back? I'm not familiar with the LNs so I don't know if those were addressed in those or not.
>>
>>15537123
Nei looks like Ion with darker hair

Nay never got her body back, but honestly, she's immortal so why would she want to anymore?

I want to know what happened to the Ion body after Nei went home, though.

>>
>>15537152
>Nei looks like Ion with darker hair
So she's literally perfect?
>Nay never got her body back, but honestly, she's immortal so why would she want to anymore?
I just figured she'd want her original body since she can then grow and live like a normal person. Immortality sounds like a raw deal anyway. Plus then she'll finally have tits which the game made quite clear she was upset about not having.
>>
>>15537169
She also has brown eyes instead of blue.

>>15537159
Or we could be optimistic and think she asked EXA_PICO to give Nay her body back through a sixth axis shift, as that's not impossible.
>>

The hard more isn't still completely balanced, and they also found out some issues that won't be corrected until they finish the current beta run and put out the next one.

I'm no Atelier expert but I'm halfway(?) through Sophie and I've been enjoying it.
I don't know what you expect, but I expected caressable cuties, comfy crafting, and competent combat, and that's what I got.
Maybe Arland was much better than this and I just don't know it yet.

nearing the ending of sophie and it -was- pretty good imo
at first it felt really bland but it kinda gets better later on. i don't feel the gameplay loop could support those players who are into challenging battles and the like, so it would be a slight no-go for you if so. Gameplay was more refreshing i guess, very soft and fluffy story to accompany it

i would very much prefer they did something with the time thing, the 30-day month is just there, but I don't see any purpose for it to be there

i'll probably give more comments after completing main storyline and any postgame if applicable

>>
>>15537123
Tittymonsters are generally devoid of any personality and have designs that draw your eyes toward their tits (most notably the cancerous tits-molding dresses) because tits are their one and only defining feature, you've got to make sure your audience notices them.

Moderate and flat are free of these issues.
>>
I made it to the final boss of Sophie relying purely on bombs instead of actually using the combat system and upgrading my equipment, and I can't beat him at all.

Now to spend several hours on trying to make some actually good gear....
>>
>>15544382
I wish they made an Atelier game that was solely consumable item focused. Crafting permanent equipment isn't as satisfying because you know that everything you make is just going to be temporary until you reach the end game and make the perfect set, whereas if everything were consumable there's no need to hold back to make the perfect item.

Is Ciel Nosurge Offline the complete game or do I still need to get DLC for it? I mean I'd assume the former going by the title, but I want to make sure before I buy it. >>
>>15545214
Sophie and Nights of Azure didn't get one either, did they? Time to get a Vita or a PS4, anon. Or get a PS TV for dirt cheap.
>>
>>15545481
It's complete. The stuff that didn't fit onto the game card is a free DLC. The only things there are you can spend money on is points you also get by just interacting with Ion.

Weren't released on PS3 in English, no. Same with Star Ocean 4 and some other games, strange to me that Vita version is higher priority in North America but PS4 has a pretty fucking crazy install base in North America already.
>>
Should I get a Vita just for the Atelier Plus games and some dungeon crawlers?
>>
>>15546204
Have you played so Atelier before? They aren't typical JRPGs. But if you tried them and like them then definitely get it. The Ateliers and Ar Nosurge alone justify the price of the system. You could also get a PS TV if you want to be frugal.
>>
>>15546214
I've played all the PS2 titles (Iris 1 is still my favourite) and Sophie, but I skipped all the ps3 titles.
>>
>>15546230
If you liked Sophie youll likely enjoy at least some of the Arland/Dusk games. I'd say go for it. The Vita has a great lineup of JRPGs and lower-budget stuff.
>>
>>15545641
>free DLC
Is it anything substantial? My Vita is using my NA account, so I wouldn't be able to get the DLC. Fuck Sony and their "one PSN account per Vita" horseshit.

Also, does anyone here have the NA Ar Nosurge limited edition? I'm considering picking one up for the art book and OST and was wondering if the art book is good quality. I already gave the game on both PS3 and Vita but I want the extra goodies the LE came with.
>>
>>15547240
Nevermind about the DLC. Apparently it's the voice acting. I can live without it while on my NA account. At some point I'll buy another memory card and put my Japanese account on my Vita and play it with full voice acting.

My question about the Ar Nosurge art book still stands though.

It's an okay game. If you already have it, it's not a bad game, but I wouldn't buy it.

Anas (is that how it's translated? I have the Japanese copy so her name is アーナス) is pretty swell for a heroine. Gameplay is fairly simplistic so far, though. I just run around and kill stuff with my familiars.
I'm sure there's more to the gameplay but I haven't unlocked it yet.

Sadly I'm playing it on my Vita so it's quite low res and I can't really appreciate nice character designs.

There isn't, sadly.
>>

Well, I guess a low cognitive load game is nice to play during commute to work.

It's an okayish game for Gust's first attempt at something that's not Atelier or ArTo/Surge. I'm still not sure why Koei made them do this, but a bit of diversity is good.

Word was that Tsuchiya was working on something, but we don't know how connected to the Ar Tonelico and Surge Concerto games it would be.

And in the strict sense, there are only three Ar Tonelico games, and given the ending of #3, I don't think there will be more. They have taken down the fan support website. This shouldn't stop you from replaying the games, however.
>>
>>15548976
Come on, Anon, take into the account how this industry works.
I'm not saying it's going to happen, but they could very well just try to do a new project very closely related to AT. Maybe not literally AT but if Tsuchiya could think up the whole of EXA_PICO, nobody knows what he could imagine next.

>>
>>15549462
AT1 remake with less Aurica (reduce her tits and screentime or whatever, no one needs her anyway) and more Misha would be pretty nice, to be honest. As long as they don't touch the music, I'd be totally okay with it.

Right afterwards, they could remake AT2 and remove the backstabbing whore and the selfish bitch, and it would be a perfect game.
>>
>>15549473
You're an imbecile. Removing something as key to the stories as all the heroines would be insane, and even more if it's following the wishes of a cretin like you who completely failed to grasp the point of these games. Go back to /v/ already.
>>
>>15549112
They already revised that statement in January. Tsuchiya is right now working in something completely unrelated to all Gust IPs.
>>
>>15549490
That's a pretty harsh point of view, but of course you're entitled to your opinion just like I am. I also liked the ``cretin'' bit, quite creative on your part.

That being said, you must be pretty masochistic if you actually enjoyed any part of AT2 before part three when you can finally get rid of the worst revateils.
>>
>>15549473
Pfftt, hahaha. Calld Luca a backstabbing whore and Cloche a selfish bitch? This guy never played AT2, and what's worse, praises Misha, who's exactly the same shit as Luca. What an idiot!
>>
>>15549473
>Right afterwards, they could remake AT2 and remove the backstabbing whore and the selfish bitch, and it would be a perfect game.
Are you retarded? Without Luca and Cloche there is no game. The entire story is about Luca and Cloche, or did you miss that part?
>>
>>15549473
Aurica has the best development among all three girls in AT1, go fuck yourself.
Also reminder, that Misha was actually lying to Lyner about herself. She definitely wasn't the worst, though.

>Right afterwards, they could remake AT2 and remove the backstabbing whore and the selfish bitch, and it would be a perfect game

Did you even play the fucking game? The entire plot of Metafalica was about these two. Holy shit.
>>
Gust should shit out Vita ports of the Ar Tonellico and Iris games. Or get them on the PS2 on PS4 line. My PS2 succumbed to the dreaded Disc Read Error and I'm not buying another one.
>>
>>15549632
What about emulators, anon? All PS2 Gust games can be perfectly emulated with some little tinkering.
>>
>>15549473
AT2 IS fine, the only things I would remake is the combat (No, I didn't like the guarding, especially when I was underleveled/geared and a miss usually I'm dead or < 50%) and shop events for recipes (I sure love going back to town constantly and not sure if I missed anything). Also a way to make Croix jump so I can bunnyhop spam like AT1 and AT3 with Lyner and Aoto.

And I wouldn't like an AT1 remake with less Aurica, I would love see Aurica more so I can see more stuff like BBQ Soda and more funny hijinks. And a proper Shurelia ending would be nice without the NTR...
>>
>>15549642

>Shurelia's character is NTR.
I wish Gust vanquished this meme in ArNo. But they reinforced it instead, playing it as a joke ending. What a shame.

Extremely cruel joke ending, to the point it stops being funny because its consequences, both global and personal, are so damn severe.
>>
>>15550508
It's not a meme though, like >>15549852 said, NTR is part of Shurelia's character, and she can't change her personality due to her cellophane

>Extremely cruel joke ending
The joke is on you, the player. You knew perfectly well what was going to happen if you made that choice, didn't you? Why did you pick that choice then? Did you think it's just a game? Did you do it for the achievement, 100% completion? Did you do it to satisfy your curiosity?

Doesn't that make you exactly like the antagonist, who is trying to help Nero to get the highest score? You don't actually take the game seriously, you think it's just a game, right? How many times did you reload to answer Ion's questions, or did you use a guide?
>>
>>15550243
Just guess around. It's more fun that way. That's what I did when I played スーパーロボット大戦 like 20 years ago.

>>15550585
I don't get the point of importing a game one can't enjoy reading when it's all but guaranteed to be officially translated without any censorship in the nearest future.
Emulate Japan-exclusive Ateliers instead, it's far more practical as a learning material on a PC.

>>15549632
Softmod your PS2 (if it isn't a SCPH-9000x model, although there are extremely rare exceptions) and play from the USB drive or over LAN.
While I'm never against seeing more games on the Vita, I'd rather have GUST remake AT/MK for the PS4 (and, by extension, PC).
If Berserk Musou on Steam at least meets KT expectations, I'm sure we'll see Ateliers on the PC rather sooner or later which is better than nothing, but for me AT>MK>Atelier. Unfortunately, >>15553392 was probably thinking about AT when he said that, and at this point I'm sure it's stuck in some legal limbo preventing GUST from doing anything with AT at all and switching to ArNo instead.

I agree, especially if they remake Ar tonelico as an H-game. Add VR support to ensure the extinction of Japanese. Hell, even Ciel alone could achieve that. Hopefully the thing Tsuchiya is working on is related to this.
As for Aurica's tits, they're totally fine unlike her personality. I just couldn't suffer being her psychiatrist long enough to make her tolerable. Misha is far more pleasant to spend time with.

>>15554736
I do. It's far more portable and cheaper than a (powerful enough) PC if you're moving from your home to a summer house for example.

Fuckdammit they're bringing back the time limitations.
>>
>>15555673
It's only for a year and then you get unlimited time after that. I never understood why some people get so anal about time limits anyways. I'm fine with or without them.

I'm actually curious to know specifically how this one year limit works though. Do you beat the final boss and see the credits at the end of the year or is the story not over yet? After the year do you just kind of finish up character events and do post game things or is there more of the actual main story?
>>
>>15555711
I'm fine with time limits when they're actually restrictive enough that you have to think about it with every action.

Atelier time limits are so lax that they encourage you to fuck around for ages then suddenly remember that you have to get some shit done and it jars me out of my comfy zone.

>Okay class, time for History
>Year 2018: Tsuchiya Akira releases the ultimate relationship simulator, thus dooming Japan to extinction in the year 2080
>>
>>15555711
Because time limits tend to suck

1) You don't know how tight the time limit is going to be.
2) Not everyone plays at the same speed.

This is especially bad if there's no checkpoint/milestone system, because then you have to redo the entire game if you screw up the timing. Even if you keep your stats/items/money, it's still tedious, especially if the game is long.

pls no.
1080p sprites and animated character CGs with blinking eyes and some movement, perhaps, but please keep it 2D.

3-D model movements without inverse kinematics, with animation that looks straight out of a MMD video and repeated on multiple characters with no regard for arms and clothes clipping through each other, and a complete disregard for the concepts of gravity and inertia really need to die in a fucking fire.

I'm considering getting Ciel Nosurge but I have a few questions. Are there any differences to the Offline version other than not needing an Internet connection? Like do they play differently at all, or does the Offline one include anything the others don't? I was looking at getting the Reincarnation version off Amazon because it's cheaper than getting the Offline one from Play Asia. The Amazon listing says the Reincarnation version has four chapters plus a DLC code for the fifth. Is that the entire game?

The listing also says you can use the Japanese code to download it comes with on a NA PSN account, which sounds like complete bullshit. At the very least I know the Japanese codes that came with Xtreme 3 didn't work with my NA account, and I assume Ciel is the same. Can anyone verify this?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

>>
>>15561518
Yep, as you've discovered, while "Ciel nosurge" is the cheapest, and "Ciel nosurge RE:Incarnation" is only slightly more expensive, they will always end up costing more due to the DLC requirements than Offline.

That's also why Offline remains a fairly high priced game. The demand (in terms of long released games) remains high and with the fact that base or REInc Online versions would still cost more even if they gave the software out for free, they can keep the price for Offline higher than other other post release titles.

I'm still mad they made the Chapters 2-12 voice data for Offline DLC instead of just making it a day-1 patch, meaning you still had to use a JP account unless you really don't care about voice.

>I'm still mad they made the Chapters 2-12 voice data for Offline DLC instead of just making it a day-1 patch, meaning you still had to use a JP account unless you really don't care about voice.

But even if I don't plat a game I still want all trophies on the same account. Even if I don't end up loving Ciel I enjoyed Ar Nosurge enough, and am invested in the characters enough, that I'd like to get the trophies on my main account. I don't see a problem with that. There's absolutely no reason to transition my Vita to a Japanese account permanently.

Still no reason a 15 year old should be this big. She doesn't need to be flat but they should have been more moderate. I thought Gust was better than this. I'm sure it was yuugen who probably had some freedom with the design and decided to do this. You know, I didn't even mind Lotte's from Shallie. She was 18, taller, and her frame worked with it better. Also Hidari is just a really fucking good artist and made it work better. They just feel too tacked on and balloon-ish on Firis. I don't care what you say, they should've been more like Sophie sized.

Dunno what you are talking about, Totori is the best Atelier game to date. The only bad thing about it is the true ending. At least in the plus version, I suppose the balancing being worse in the Ps3 version may change a few things.
>>
>>15576677
Totori is the worst of the PS3/Vita games. Shallie is a close second. The structure is terrible, it has the worst combat system, every new character besides Totori and Mimi is crap, the areas are bland, and the story wastes any potential it had thanks to the true ending you just mentioned. It's not bad but it's definitely the worst of the HD games. Obviously this is all IMO. If you like it that's fine too.
>>
>>15576677
>>15576693
Can someone spoil me on what's shit about the true ending? The only Arland game I played was Rorona (not plus) and it was kinda bad so I didn't bother with the others.
>>
>>15576719
There's nothing shit about the true ending. Totori was a great game and definitely not one of the worst. Neither was Shallie.
>>
>>15577945
Note I never said either were bad. While I feel Totori and Shallie are the weakest they are still good games. And while I'm not normally a fan of suffering I felt the regular ending was a more natural fit for how the game was building up, and it helped solidify Totori's growth as a character. The true ending threw that all out the window. You're free to feel differently of course. The HD games all have things they do better than others (except maybe vanilla Rorona) so it really depends on which aspects are most important to you when it comes to deciding how each Atelier ranks.
>>
Totori suffers from the jrpg syndrom of needing to follow a guide to trigger events and reach certain points in a certain time with certain characters at certain places that no one tells you about in the game so that without a guide you will never ever see the true ending.Thats why i never touched it again after getting one ending. Meruru is much better, giving you clear indicators and goals to meet.

Atelier "reboots" itself every three games or so. Each trilogy (or duology in Mana Khemia's case) is basically its own self-contained thing, so as long as you play the games within a trilogy in order (Iris 1-2-3, MK 1-2, Rorona-Totori-Meruru, Ayesha-Escha&Logy-Shallie, Sophie-Firis-???) the order in which you tackle said trilogies isn't super-important. Generally speaking, though, the localized PS2 entries (Iris and MK) are much more like "traditional" JRPGs than the more modern ones, which stay away from grand journeys and dark save-the-world plots and are much more light-hearted, focusing on crafting and character-based subplots over combat and a central story.

I'd just start with Sophie, and if you finish and like it then work backwards and knock out the other trilogies.
>>
>>15595154
Starting with sophie will just spoil you and make you hate the deadlines in the previous trilogies
>>
>>15595602
Starting with Sophie will make him like the series and actually want to get into the time limit system to play the other games. If he starts with a game that already uses time limits he might get turned off and never bother with the series again. Sophie is the best Atelier for beginners by far.
>>
I'd recommend Ayesha. It has time limits but they're ridiculously lenient. That way you get a feel for the time management stuff but still have plenty of time to fuck around. Plus Ayesha is the best game.

Wait, Firis out this September? Fucking shit, I haven't even started Sophie yet, it's still in my drawer.

Gotta rush Ar nosurge and Yoru no Nai Kuni first.
>>
>>15598125
Ar Nosurge isn't long but I wouldn't recommend rushing it. It's a fantastic game and if you don't mind reading the synthesis skits can be pretty amusing. The characters come to be fairly endearing by the end of the game.
>>
>>15599515
Not him.
Playing through it right now, close to the end, the in-game timer shows 70 hours.
I may have left it on for long periods of time while doing something else, such as for a tough boss battle (playing on Veteran).
It is absolutely fantastic.

>Ar Nosurge isn't long
I must disagree. It took me over 70 hours to finish my first playthrough. I admit I took my time with things and wanted to avoid missing events, but I doubt it's possible to finish it in less than 45-50 hours without skipping text.

>>15599606
>70 hours
What a coincidence.

>>15598125
>Gotta rush Ar nosurge
Don't. It's a great game, it certainly doesn't deserve to be rushed.
>>
Speaking about Ar Nosurge, what is your favourite store and shopkeeper in the game?
For me, it surprisingly turned out to be Tattoria. I think I just like the guy himself, but the fact that he has great bantering with Ion and great dialogue choices for Earthes, plus consistently weird items while still not being a "one-joke wonder" (I'm looking at you, Nay au Francais). His talk about Phage Predator Team with Delta is probably my favourite talk in the game too. And his metaplot of healing Felie is probably the best too, not connected to the rest of the game, but you feel its importance, it serves as great growth for Tattoria himself and overall very moving.
The least favourite is probably Kanon's Chuchuya. Not even sure why, but even Nay's "haha Nay can't cook" wins over her in my book (plus the ways in which she screws it up are occasionally very amusing). There are still great talks, but I just don't feel the same amount of giddiness from going into her shop.

When are Gust gonna start putting their games on PC? I'm too poor to afford consoles.
>>
>>15599800
Doesn't Japan just not do PC gaming much? Except for eroge, of course.
I heard that whatever ports happen, happen mostly for the West. Just how things work there. Correct me someone, if I'm wrong or simplifying.
My sympathies, though, I'm mostly the same. I did buy a used PS3 on eBay, but I barely had just enough money for it. But otherwise it's only emulators and ports for me too.
>>
>>15599824
>Doesn't Japan just not do PC gaming much?

They don't unless it's the usual things (doujin games, PSO2 etc) but more and more Japanese games have been ported to PC recently. Fairy Fencer F, Senran Kagura and a bunch of other stuff are on Steam now.
>>
>>15599800
When KT tells them to.

>>15555663
>It's not happening.
GUST is not an independent company anymore.
Current gen consoles are not unique machines compatible with themselves only.
If your game runs on a PS4/Xbone it basically runs on a PC already, and porting it to PC for real is extremely cheap in comparison to the porting of last gen games.
Moreover, with the yearly release rate of Ateliers, once you've ported one of them to PC, you will have ported all the subsequent ones as well (if not many of the previous ones). It's not a question of 'if' for KT, it's a question of 'when'.
I'd say the sequel of Firis will be cross-platform.

>Koinuma: Koei has always wanted to put out games on multiple platforms and we understand there are a lot of gamers who use Steam and so we plan on considering it an option.

Depends on your engine. If you're using Unity, sure. If you've got some custom in house bullshit like GUST no doubt has, not so much.
>>
>>15599860
Fuck off with your PC bullshit
>>
>>15600369
Even if you do a shitty port that runs 10 times slower due to lacking optimization for the target platform, it will still run just fine on PC due to the huge spec difference. And even if it doesn't run satisfactory today, it will in two or three years thanks to Moore.
>>
>>15599606
>>15599759
It took me just a hair over 60 hours to platinum it. That's including doing all the synthesis which is required for the best ending. And no, I didn't skip the text. But when I said it was short I meant if you make a beeline straight to the end and ignore side stuff, which is shy I suggested not doing that because the game is worth taking your time on.
>>
>>15599770
I liked them all, but Sarly's was my favorite. Seeing her attempt to be girly, as well as trying to get get back Delta's memories, was always amusing.

>>15599860
Gust doesn't have the manpower to do PC ports in addition to the yearly Ateliers and all the other shit they have going on. They aren't a big studio. If they come to PC they'll be outsourced ports.
>>
>>15600867
Moore's law is dead.

So, I've been playing Yoru for about a week or two now.

The music is absolutely amazing. The sound team at Gust is really something else. It really fits into the atmosphere of the game really well.
I can't stop listening to it.
>>
>>15600867
Do you know anything about development? The Vita and PS4 both have custom architectures, you can't just take a game binary and run it on a PC.
>>
>>15597210
I finished Marie and I'm also mostly done with Elie.
They're much more primitive than what you might know Atelier for (post-Rorona), but I had lots of fun with them. If you play them knowing what you're getting into, I'd say they're very enjoyable.

One thing that blew me away (well, maybe I'm exaggerating a tad) in Elie is when you can finally travel to that distant town and take a ship to the academy where you find Marie, and you can actually recruit her to the party. It was such a good moment, made me feel like I was a kid again, discovering "secrets" in games.

I haven't played Gramnad but Salburg series, being the first thing GUST did, has some obscure mechanisms. Some things (ingredients, events, whole endings) I can't imagine ever getting without a guide.

So yeah, they're fun. Don't be put off by the simple graphics and the apparently too simple first few hours, they get really fun later on.

Are the Dusk games good if I just want a mellow moe princess game with crafting, or is that more an Arland thing? I always thought the Arland trilogy looked a bit plodding and tedious in the combat but I haven't touched a Gust game yet.
>>
>>15605169
They're all mostly moe slice of life stuff but Arland games tend to be a tad more whimsical while Dusk games have a very slight melancholy vibe to them.
>>
So, I'm on the final stretch of Ciel and want to get things ready for Ar.
Would it be accurate to say that to get all the extra content out of both games, I'd have to finish chapter 12 of Ciel > Play Ar until I save at the last save point > Do the Terminate Pack with the extra content I just unlocked from Ar > Finish Ar?
>>
>>15605731
Also, I've been wondering all this time. If you transfer the plugins you have made in Ciel into Ar, do they get taken off the inventory in Ciel, or can you transfer them as many times as you want just by making one of each?
>>
Is there a way to make sure Sophie uses her defense skill at 300% gauge instead of another party member?
The recipe for doing that is the only one I don't have.
>>
>>15605745
>do they get taken off the inventory in Ciel
No
>can you transfer them as many times as you want just by making one of each?
No, you can only transfer them once per Ar save file. Also, they aren't very useful, they give you a tiny boost for the first hour or two of the game.

I have only the final battle remaining in Ar Nosurge.
I did all the synthesis items (including the true ending one). I did all the Genometrics. I'm level 70 with both characters (is it enough for a final boss on Veteran?). I also did all the talk topics that are possible... Well, OK, I missed two on Delta's side. I also did the DLC Genometrics (Earthes Shirotaka Genometrics is GOAT).
Now I only have to go to the final battle, finish the game and sever the connection.
Give me strength to put an end to it, /jp/. I will miss this series. I will miss the characters. I will miss Ion.
Ar Nosurge turned out to be surprisingly good too. I think it's finally just as fun as AT1 was, while also being overall better written.

Yes, I stopped grinding when Cass and Delta hit level ~90 (93 or 95, I don't remember; Ion and Earthes were ~75) and fighting the boss felt like bullying a kid in a wheelchair.

I wish strict time limits would come back.
>>
>>15627221
The time limits haven't been strict since Rorona.
>>
>>15627256

eh, they were strict enough in the later Arland games, and arguably Ayesha. Though I guess I'm defining "strict" as "you can't do absolutely goddamned everything in a single non-NG+ playthrough unless you are super hardcore about your planning."

But yeah, I would honestly like time limits to come back properly (Firis seems like it's trying to do a half-and-half deal) because I did like how time was a resource you had to worry about, but also generally not so limited that it was difficult to do the "baseline" win condition. In pretty much every PS3+ Atelier you had to fuck up pretty bad to not get the "good" end, it was just the "true" end that required NG+ and/or careful planning.
>>
>>15627741
I hated the overarching time limits. I'm fine with them being used for individual side quests and jobs, but having the entire game on a timer is a stupid idea that i hope never returns.

Well when I said unlikely I meant it's unlikely somebody will bother to translate all of the dialog and menus and write it into a patch/mod. Granted, it will only take one dedicated fan with the appropriate know-how to do it, but I still would rather not get my hopes up only to be disappointed.

I just started Yoru no Nai Kuni/Nights of Azure and while I dig it so far the pacing is confusing me. It's like it's on some kind of invisible timer. It tells me I'm in an interlude and to go do side stuff, but as soon as I try to level up I get a cutscene of Arnice waking up and the next chapter has started. And now my side quest is cancelled and new ones popped up. It's just confusing because there appears to be no indication of what progresses the story and what doesn't. I hope I didn't miss anything important. I'm still confused about how I go out during the day time as well. It gave me a vague tutorial but I can't find any option to actually do it.

Also the game does this weird thing where sometimes it'll progress the dialog box automatically and sometimes it won't. So I'll press x to go to the next line of dialog and it'll be working fine, and suddenly the game advances the dialog itself just as I'm pressing x and I end up missing a few lines. It's very annoying.
>>
>>15638997
> It's just confusing because there appears to be no indication of what progresses the story and what doesn't.

Bruh, there is a menu option named "Scenario".
The first page is story scenarios. Do the things listed in it to progress the main story.

The other pages are sub-scenarios that are subquests involving the different characters. You can't make any progress on Lilysses' subquest until chapter 4 anyway.

Side quests you get from the Hotel Manager are unimportant (even the ones that are orders from Curia), they're just there to help you earn more dosh and blood.
>>
>>15638997
>suddenly the game advances the dialog itself

Haven't played the game but this seems obvious to me that the dialogue for that bit is scripted and timed so it advances as the characters move around.
>>
>>15633527
That's not a Tsuchiya game, is it?
When will we get another Tsuchiya game?
>>
>>15639099
No, I'm not talking about cutscenes. I'm talking about the characters just standing on either side of the screen vaguely facing each other, like every Gust game does, but unlike every other Gust game this once advances the dialog on its own occasionally. It wouldn't be an issue if it weren't so inconsistent about it.
