>>15174579
yasu
>>15174579
The boat captain.
He was hiding in the tunnels under the island every time it was declared there were only X number of people on the island, so he didn't count as "on" the island.
there is something i want to know, im sure people here have figured it out. how were beatrice games supposed to remind battler of his promise?
>>15174904
By having him figure out that Shannon faked her(or his) death and murderd his family so he could finally remember that he had something going on with her. What the point of any of that was or why she didn't just say so is yet another mystery.
>>15174675
With this level of reasoning can Erika skadoo too?
>>15175019
She wanted him to figure out on his own, also the family abused her significantly. So she hated most of them.
>>15175111
>>15175019
i feel like theres more to it. in the manga it says she "kept protesting to him" and he couldnt see the truth because of being incompetent. thats really are there is to it?

Nope. Why would I want to talk about a shit series by a shit writer full of shit characters?

>>15175274

>>15175344
Maybe you should look in the mirror to find the real shit, the results will surprise you.
how were bern and lambda influencing the game? beatrice is considered the "bird in the cage" because of them
What if everything was set up by Bern and/or Lambda so that they would have a fun game to play with? In Episode 6, When Kyrie was talking to Jessica about Asumu's death, she said this.
"And I'm grateful to my master... for giving me that chance. My 'certain willpower' in not giving up on that man no matter what was rewarded with a 'miracle'."
>Bern and/or Lambda caused Asumu to die before Kyrie killed her.
>Kyrie doesn't commit murder, and is able to marry Rudolf.
>Battler gets into a fight with Rudolf over the remarriage and leaves the family.
>Yasu suffers.

>i think you are upset people still enjoy shitposting with umineko to this day
Imagine Erika sitting down, her soft pantyhose against your cheeks, with one leg down on the floor and the other propped over your shoulder. She lets out submissive grunts while running her hand through your hair, a full face blush across her face as you eat her out through a hole in her pantyhose - one that she, just a few minutes ago, had been yelling at you for ripping.
After her orgasm, which you detect when she tightens her grip on your hair and trembles a bit, you withdraw your head from her warm pussy and quickly give her a kiss, your lips still wet from her slit. She gasps and struggles (failing) to escape your tight embrace. When you pull back, there's a trail of saliva mixed with her juices between the two of you. She is visibly embarrassed.
Erika looks up at you with puppy dog eyes, and you laugh to yourself that such a haughty girl is so nervous and submissive. You tell her to get on her knees, and she does so quickly. Though still visibly nervous, she gets a perverted look on her reddened face and runs her hands up your legs, staring at the bulge in your pants. She hesitates before rubbing her face against it, breathing heavily.
She bites on the waistband of your pants and pulls them down, quickly rising back up to the large, sweaty rod in front of her blushing face. Her eyes speak her nervousness, but her mouth is twisted into a pervy smile. You put your right hand on her head and call her a good girl as she starts sucking on your balls, never taking her eyes off of your face. The entirety of your sack fills up her mouth as she hungrily slips her tongue around all over it, occasionally pulling off with a pop before eating it up again. Her tongue is warm as it slides all over, and you feel the slightest hint of her teeth as she continues to churn it around in her mouth. Along with the sucking noises come frequent excited and squeaky moans.
Your cock is rock hard in response to her sucking, perverted squeaks, and cute little nose bumping up against the underside as she moves. You ask her if she's ready for the main course and she provides a muffled "mmhmm~", shaking her head with your balls still in her mouth. She sucks hard, drawing back slowly before letting them pop from between her greedy lips. She's now grinning like an idiot with drool all over her face.
Just as she closes in on it, you tell her to wait. She looks up confused and you caress her face with one hand, squeezing teasingly on her cheeks and forcing a pucker out of her lips. You tell her to stand up on her toes so you can give her a kiss. She leans in close, and does as commanded, putting her hands on your shoulders for a kiss. After making out for a minute or two, she withdraws, tongue out. Still pressed up against you, she slides down your body, the side of her face trailing your torso, until she reaches your cock again. You place your hands at both sides of her face, gripping the base of her twintails in your hands, and pull her in close.
Her eyes are closed and her mouth open, eagerly sounding out an "aaaah~" as her face closes in. For the first couple of minutes you just hold her at the head, where she hungrily sucks and licks at it. When she begins trying to move closer on her own, however, you guide her down your cock. You ease up on your grip and just gently run your hands through the hair on the very top of her head, as she's now eagerly bobbing up and down on her own, whimpering out sucking noises and muffled moans with every movement. Looking down at her moving so quickly, you find yourself about to cum and tell her you're going to give her a big facial. She looks up at you and pulls off quickly with a pop, looking at you with a perverted gaze and a wide smile: "Puah~ You don't want to cum in my mouth?~" Before she can finish saying "mouth", you unload ropes of hot semen onto her red face, which she gladly accepts.

>>15200155
As each was released in Japan, users would upload both real and fake screenshots and sprites, which made for fantastic chaos upon each release. Erika bride, Featherine, and Zepar/Furfur were the ones we were sure were fake because of how crazy they looked. There were fakes such as a chrome Bernkastel, and texts saying that Jessica committed suicide with and umbrella and that Maria was Rudolf's daughter with Rosa.

I had a dream today I was watching a R07verse kinda of Live Action. It was amazing and had Bern and Lambda as the Players.
It was a story that looked like it was related with the latest manga and Umineko story and had Umineko characters. It had nice camera angles and so on.
With this I ask you if it would be possible to do a great Live Action, if we had Unlimited Bugdet Works etc.
Question, did the original japanese version have the Metal gear and Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy references or did the translation team add them?
Krauss was the mastermind.

>>15212126
He controlled it all from his tourist moon base
So what is everyone's personal rankings for each chapter? And what did you like/dislike about the series as a whole? For me it goes 5>3>1>4>8>7>2>6. I absolutely loved 5 and 3 for their clever mysteries and great character moments. Chapter 5 especially for having my favorite scene in all of Umineko. 6 and 2 are pretty slow paced and tend to beat you over the head with their themes, although 2 really only has this problem in it's first half.
>>15213456
I actually really liked 6, but it seems like I'm in the minority there.
>>15213456
4>8>5>7>6>3>1>2
It seems to be a really unpopular opinion for some reason, but I really enjoyed Chiru far more than I did the first four episodes.
>>15213538
Yeah 6 seems to be pretty polarizing. I actually really liked Battler having to deal with all the challenges that come with being the game master, but having to deal with Zepar and Furfur got old pretty fast. I also didn't like chick Beato's character very much but at least that had a nice payoff in the wedding scene.

>>15221806
Episodes 1 and 2 were some murder scenarios Sayo Yasuda wrote and then released as message bottles. The later episodes were written by Tohya Hachijou. Upon regaining his memories as Battler, Tohya initially thought that Eva was the culprit, hence her role in Episode 3. After Tohya released Episode 3, Eva read it and realized who he was. She met with him and told him the truth, which he used to write Episodes 4 and on.

Here's my thought. Featherine is described as a witch who reached the realm of Creators. Creators are supposedly all-powerful beings free from any and all restrictions. However, this means that anyone who becomes a Creator ceases to exist, since even their own form is a restriction.
I always wondered if Featherine's memory device was maintaining her existence by preventing her from fully becoming a creator, acting as a sort of limiter.

http://www.economist.com/news/business/21620248-legal-gambling-and-changing-tastes-threaten-huge-pachinko-business-balls-air
>Pachinko has been in decline for years, yet its revenues last year were put at 19 trillion yen ($175 billion). To give some idea, that was almost twice the Japanese motor industry’s export revenues. About one in seven Japanese adults play it regularly.
It's pretty much guaranteed that the pachinko game made tons more money than the PS3 game did, so it isn't that strange that they would make new art for it

There are lots of little quirks in the early arcs that you can pick up with that aren't just her acting like a kid. She remembers and obsesses over little things and can write in Hebrew, and she typically doesn't show emotion on her face despite what Deen and Alchemist decided to exaggerate to shit. Rosa wasn't prepared as a young mother to handle her issues. EP4's deal where she screams that she hated her might have been awful, but you have to look at it from Rosa's perspective. Maria was a true burden that took away her youth.

I tried to get stuff from this blog a while ago, but I couldn't seem to find any way to get English translations with original sprites. The HIG.rar which is linked contains updated sprites (if I recall correctly), the formats between the mangagamer release and the japanese release are different enough that copying data from one to the other is trivial. Am I forgetting/missing something?
>>15259209
>is trivial
*is not trivial, of course.
Does the official English manga use coloured text for Red and Blue Truths? I've been reading the scanlations and I just realized that their use of colour is something the official product might not even be able to pull off.
>>15259289
No, and the Japanese manga doesn't either. I think the English release uses bold and italic, while the Japanese uses different textures, like this
>>15259326
Thank you!
>>15259209
You're right, it has the updated sprites, and it also has a save file for some reason. I found a version with the original sprites here. The site is kind of shit, but I guess it's better than nothing

>>15259622
Gohda's last name was similarly changed from Toshiro to Toshirou.
Apart from names, they also translated various lines differently. For example, "Without love, it cannot be seen" became "You cannot see the truth without love."
>15259646
Didn't they also change "Riiche" to "Rice" or something? I mean, it makes total sense since Beatoriiche -> Beatrice but it still feels wrong, not to mention kind of silly. I can't help but read it in my head just like you'd read the word rice instead of how you'd read the ending of the name Beatrice.

I recently finished reading Umineko and I'm surprised there isn't more talk about this parallel. It does well to bring home the major themes of belief and faith.
It wasn't until I started thinking about the trinity of Shannon/Kannon/Beatrice that I started to see the similarities.
The PS3 sprites are so much better.

Why are they so slow with these releases?
>>15264744
Oh, so they're doing all 4 at once? That's pretty nice. Wish they did the same with Higurashi

>>15264816
Pretty sure that's because they're redoing the entirety of Higurashi's translation but only tweaking the fan translation Umineko already has so there's a lot less time and effort required for the latter, but I agree that it's kind of dumb even when taking that into consideration. They could've just taken their sweet time with Higurashi and released all the Question arcs together (same with Answer, obviously) even if it meant having to wait longer.

It had such a huge focus every time that I can't help but wonder if it was meant to be something I missed.

What is the fucking point. The Umineko Project version has the sprites, backdrops, and CGs that are given, along with voice acting, native 1080p, and tons of special effects. At least they aren't releasing it in parts like Higurashi(Full game never) so people can actually see it.
The only good thing to come out of this is that they may put Ougon Musou Kyoku on Steam, which with Steamworks would be great so you can actually play with other people. Otherwise there is nothing "Ultimate" about it.

Does Umineko even count as a mystery? It's barely solvable at all and requires huge leaps of faith, and then the end of the story is all about scolding you for treating it like a mystery novel.
>>15276414
>It's barely solvable at all and requires huge leaps of faith
Not really, all the answers are hinted at. It's possible to solve it with just the first couple of Episodes, even though it would be very hard
>>15276445
You can figure out the epitaph starting from whenever Krauss and Natsuhi talk about the areca nuts but good luck figuring out the whole Natsuhi/Yasu thing and whodunit with just the question arcs.
>>15264906
where can i get these sprites?
>>15276731
According to Ryukishi in Answer of the Golden Witch, some people actually figured out the Taiwan thing early on
>R: The mystery of the epitaph is such an example. Even though the correct solution in form of the Taiwan theory surfaced at quite an early stage, it didn’t gain many followers back then. There were some people who noticed it as “Awesome”, but there were at least as many voices claiming it to be “definitely wroooong!” it became just one of many quite soon. To be honest, I followed some of the message boards live back then. When I typed the F5 key to refresh the page, things like “Taiwan has trainstations” popped up… and I thought, “Nooo, I’ve been found out!”.
>>15276769
Sounds more like a case of throwing shit at a wall and seeing what sticks rather than a conclusion that readers could reasonably draw.
>things like “Taiwan has trainstations” popped up
kek
>>15276731
>whodunit with just the question arcs.
Wasn't the Shkanon theory the most common theory back then? I remember people figuring it out after Episode 2 because the way Shannon killed herself was the same trick as in And Then There Were None.
>>15273362
We became self aware.
>>15276756

>>15274668
They wanted to give you a (You). Have another!
>>15276731
In Episode 1 (I think?) when the cousins talk at the beach, Jessica mentions that Odawara might not actually be Kinzo's hometown, and Shannon says something about him possibly living outside of Kanto. What's important to remember is that Taiwan was part of Japan until 1945, so it was all the same country when Kinzo was a child. It's very hard to figure out, but it certainly isn't impossible. Episode 3 gives even more hints, with Eva looking at the map and all that.
The biggest problem with the epitaph is that it isn't really solvable in English, due to the amount of Japanese words with double meanings. Either way, it's still a very impressive riddle, and I wonder how Ryukishi even managed to come up with it.
>>15276731
You can find out there is something up with Shannon and Kanon by the first four episodes alone easily, you just have to pay attention to the magic scenes. Most people who read umineko for the first time tend to just write these scenes off as unimportant, however they are crucial as to solve the 'whydunnit'.
When Battler learns about the unreliable narration and structure of the story in Episode 3, you can go back and re-read the previous episodes and previous scenes applying that knowledge to pinpoint what you know for sure is real and what isn't.
The story doesn't take forever going over in-depth Ange's and Maria's flashbacks in episode 4 for no reason, the story wants you to think about what magic is and why Beatrice would use it, and once you see the reasons that Maria uses magic, it can give you the tools necessary to go back and re-assess the magic scenes in the story, to truly get to the 'heart'.
I think the reason why most people never solve it, its not completely the fault of the reader I do agree that Ryukishi purposefully makes you focus on the wrong things, is that most people who read it on the first time are just riding along with Battler, solely concerned about what is 'real' and what is 'fake', and aren't really focused on why scenes are shown for their narrative purposes.
>>15277188
>solve the 'whydunnit'.

>>15213456
5 is my absolute favorite
3 is almost as good
I'm not sure if I can rank the rest though
1's introduction was a little too long, but necessary. The episode itself was really good too, but being an introduction to the story it can't shine too much I think
In 2 Kanon & Shanon stories are kinda tiresome, but seeing Beato for the first time was great and the Rosa scene is probable my favorite
In 4 Ange's story takes too much, and although I love all the fantasy scenes (probably my favorites), I didn't feel any mystery, and Beato's attitude changes too suddenly
6 felt like a fanfic sometimes. When it was great was great, like the logic error, but then there are George and Jessica out of character, and although I didn't mind the game being interrupted at the 2nd twilight in the fifth game... this was Battler's game, come on
I love all about EP7, except the fact that it isn't a game really. Will and Lion are cool, but I'm not sure about them solving the games through flashbacks (really good flashbacks at that). Tea party GOAT.
8 was really good too, almost everything about it, but then again, it just isn't a game and after EP7 there was no mistery at all anymore really
Now that I'm writing this, I think an episode 6 that includes 6, 7 and 8 would have been a better way to finish it. Not sure if that would be possible though.
>>15213456
3>6>8>5>4>7>1>2
3 didn't have much filler or pacing issues and had some really great moments and is probably my favourite WTC arc after Minagoroshi
6 although it had some pacing issues it also had some really great moments with Erika and I had already gotten used to battler starting to act like a retard from episode 5
8 though not a mystery like most other episodes the fights here were probably the best fights in fiction
5's Erika scenes weren't as good as 6 and Battler was especially annoying here, however great pacing and also had some great moments also I blame this arc for Battler becoming shit episodes 5-8
4 filled with great moments that were dragged down by Ange's flash backs, God I hate her character
7 can't really say much about it, it was quite quick, Yasu's flashbacks, her last rights and Will vs Bern were all quite entertaining though.
1 Was really slow at parts understandably though because it was the first part.
2 was generally horrible, had bad pacing and no great battles, plus the majority of it was battler complaining about shit and crying.
Umineko is SHIT
I played Umineko 4 years ago or more until episode 5 and gave up because it was shit.
Nowdays I was thinking to pick it up just because.
Is it bearable ep6-ep8 or its better to choose another VN to waste time with?
>>15283570
Depends why you disliked episode 5. The story's tone changes dramatically from the first four arcs to the last four arcs, so chances are if episode 5 didn't do it for you, then the rest of the series won't.
