Chinese have SDVX3.
>>
>>15045623
the game tells you

start + knob

in SDVX 3 double tap start to fine tune and then press 6 on the numpad to save that as floating hi speed, in case you ever go to an arcade

and before you ask no there is no offset adjust until SDVX 3, which uses 3 and 9 to adjust

>tfw actually considering getting a part time job so i can afford a Dao
so this is the power of IIDX

what are the chances of gamo2 doing some sort of summer sale special, or including the FPS in the US storehouse?
>>
>>15046134
Hasn't there been a sale going on for over a year now including the US storehouse

You'll have to buy non-Honeywell switches on your own though although I think it's still cheaper than buying one custom unless you want a lot of options
>>
>>15046180
The US storehouse IS the sale. "Free shipping" just means the discounted shipping cost is included in the price of the controller from the warehouse. If I want to buy an FPS (unavailable in warehouse) with Omrons the total cost is around $280.

I-is that how Osu! was originally intended to be played?

I don't give two fucks about it but this is the first time I realized you could play it with a digitizer.
>>
>>15046621
Because I suck at it and it takes some time to get better

>>
>>15046639
>I-is that how Osu! was originally intended to be played?
No, it doesn't matter if you play with a mouse or a tablet
However most people agree that it's more fun to play with a tablet
>>
>>15046529
addicted to iidx that is yes

osu a shit stopped playing it years ago
>>
>>15046642
Difficulty scale in mania is fucked and doesn't mean anything unless you're already at Asian levels. You're better off starting with FFR or DJMAX or something if you want to actually measure progress.
>>
>>15046764
Even at Asian level it is fucked. There are simply no maps difficult enough. Look at the top players. 90% of them have almost identical top charts - MANIERA, The Limit Does Not Exist, Imperishable Night. The enjoyment of osu is in its ranking system and in mania it's fucked.

I have the weirdest love/hate relationship with Groove Coaster. I think it's sorta fun as a regular time-killer, but as an actual rhythm game, it's pretty substandard. The soundtrack is pretty mixed with a fair share of both good and bad songs and the gameplay is a fair bit of "style over substance". Not to mention a god awful leveling unlock system.

and yet I keep coming back because the game has two sampling masters packs and a t+pazolite pack
>>
>>15047486
It's definitely the prettiest rhythm game out there. I remember playing it on my ipod touch way back when Space Invaders Infinity Gene was also a thing. That style works really well, although it sacrifices some readability for aesthetic flair. I'd love to play it at an arcade with actual buttons.
Is there a cracked Android version somewhere?
>>
is superbeat xonic any good
>>
>>15047587
AC Groove Coaster is incredibly fun - the screen is massive and makes the readability much better.

And yes, check sows for android/ipad version, although you'll need a jailbroken device for the ipad version, I believe.
>>
>>15046798

Stopped playing mania a few months ago but the reason for that is the lack of ranked charts for the gamemode.
There was like <200 for mania when there is thousands for the standard mode

Either way mania fucking sucks

11s in IIDX are retarded, I get strong B or A on almost all 10s, but now I'm trying a few 11s to get better and every one I pick is a mess I can't read at all and get D or weak C. Is there a list of easy 11s somewhere, or do these even exist?

Are these supposed to be sorted by difficulty? It's not representative at all from what I've tried, for exemple I played Fractal (2 on the list) and Vallis Neria (8 on the list) I got a very similar score for them. Fractal at a short easy part, but most of it was as hellish to me.

>>15052343
>>15052361
Thanks, I'll try these
>>
>>15052416
That list is for clearing, not scoring.
>>
>>15052292
Get strong AA or AAA on 10s and then you can get B and A on 11s
>>
iidx needs more gabba
>>
>>15052292

How the fuck can you get Cs and Ds? IIDX is setup in such a way that if you can clear, you probably are getting at least a B. If your timing is that fucked there's no way those are clears.

No offense, of course.
>>
>>15053783
nothing ever needs gabba
>>
>>15053784
Nah it's perfectly possible to pass with C's and D's, when I started out my accuracy was garbage and as a result I have a giant folder of C's and D's that I'm clearing through right now

Also with some harder songs (for me at least) I fuck up the accuracy because I'm trying to make sense of the pattern so much so I end up passing with a C, like the Hyper chart on that one Project B- song from Pendual

>>
>>15055129

Holy fucking shit. This is probably one of the most impressive rhythm game feats ever.

I never even passed Pandemonium. Only song I couldn't do.
>>
>>15055388
I'd still rate FEFEMZ's Pluto Relinquish PFC higher (unfortunately off camera), but it's pretty close. I've skimmed through that guy's stream and was impressed how casually he can quad almost anything he touches. At this point he's probably able to quad DDR 18s bar extreme bullshit like DEGRS or extreme difficulty like aforementioned Pluto Relinquish.

I'm among extreme minority of people for whom Pandemonium is less problematic than Summer.
>>
>>15055570

I just never had the stamina, and this is coming from a guy who at his peak could do eggman's AA and Quasar.

Just too fat.
>>
>>15055129
how do people read this scroll speed? holy shit
>>
>>15055661
Even people with subpar stamina should be able to clear Pandemonium after some practice. It's just a matter of routing the chart to determine which steps you can afford to ignore altogether to conserve your energy (mostly stepjumps), then not screwing up anywhere else. It's only 660spm without any crossovers, so individual streams are pretty easy to execute. I'd record a demonstration myself, but being poorfag is suffering.

In a similar vein you can bullshit your way through short fast bursts like those on Determinator by starting them early from Greats or even Decents if your footspeed is lacking.

How do I transition from 13 difficulty songs to 14 difficulty songs in Sound Voltex?

>>
>>15057328
Start memorizing patterns.

Also, remove your hand from a knob after you change the input.

For example a long input that looks like:

_|
|
| Various buttons and inputs go here
|_
  |

Should only be touched at the beginning and end, while in between you bring your hand back to the buttons so you don't have to one hand everything.

On the subject, learn to one hand everything.
>>
>>15057328
Pass every/most 13s, and as the anon above said: Learn to one hand, cause you ain't progressing without that skill and 14s is where it starts to truly matter.

Honestly, I can't see it working. The IIDX Bemani PCs have 4 partitions. I think on one of the partitions it loads on the update data, though that might be data downloaded from the internet. Not sure if the data is applied from the disc to the partition where the data is installed.

It (won't) might not work if you're using piggy data, since it's been decrypted. Who knows though. Not me.

Also, how the fuck do you use this disc. The machine doesn't even have a disc drive.

Can't speak for osumania in particular, but for IIDX it's literally just getting used to scratch positioning with your hand and reacting to notes instead of thinking about them before clicking.

Also increasing your read speed and being able to execute various patterns from memory as soon as they show up - scales, chords, denim rolls, etc.

Then finally just timing.
>>
beatmania IIDX.
>>
>>15068302
Can you tell me what your name is or send me a message?
>>
>>15068308
As an addendum, a typical read speed in IIDX is about 280-300 GN, which corresponds to 28-30 frames, or about half a second, which is probably where you want your read speed equivalent to be in osumania, whatever that would be.

Lower read speeds might be too dense to read, and higher read speeds might be too fast to score accurately on.

This is of course personal preference.

Why would it have its place in /a/? It's a rhythm game, not anime/manga.

The best argument towards not having it on /jp/ is the fact the creator isn't japanese, but what's wrong about having osu in a specific Rhythm Games thread, when most of osu's song catalog is J-Music?
>>

>>
>>15068631
>they're japanese, have a lot of surrounding doujin content and little appeal outside of japan
Why does that even matter? Your point is basically "because we're weeaboos and osu! isn't japanese enough". osu! is a rhythm game, just like the other ones, and this thread is about rhythm games. I honestly don't see a problem here. The vast majority of the songs for osu! are japanese anyway.

by the way the reason why everyone hates osu is that this is pretty much the niche bemani/taito/sega arcade game thread and we'd like to keep it that way rather than introducing non-niche games such as guitar hero or osu or whatever you play

also osu is a shitty game with a garbage scoring system and a fanbase that might be worse than this one, although it's a tough call

This. When you reach 5-6 stars difficulty, it becomes obvious how creating rhythm with only 2 fingers gets retarded pretty fast. The difficulty is either in the aiming, which has nothing to do with rhythm, or with how endurant and fast your 2 fingers can mash keyboard keys. I had a lot of fun with osu for a while but I don't think the rhythm aspect can be any fun at that level.

This post is revealing of the mindset in these threads. /jp/ isn't an anonymous side forum for sows. I for one welcome any discussion, even those about AC data or osu. It's not like Konmai will ever visit these threads anyway. And even if they did, what could they do? It's not like /jp/ was providing an e-amu clone themselves. Not only do I end up with two red pop'n buttons because of a misleading item title, so I have to order 10 more on another listing and wind up with 4 reds when I only need 1, the two red ones didn't come with switch/lamp holders.

I'm going to be maximum pissed if these 10 coming don't have them, even though the listing says they do.

If I have to order extra shit that'll take 10 days to get here again, then I would have officially have been better off just buying a dao.

How do I fix a bad habit? I just noticed that the main reason why I fail in dense parts with scratches is the following: I have no problem pinkie scratching and pressing 1 or 2 at the same time, but if there's a scratch without one of these keys my hand automatically scratches with the whole hand, not only pinky. So when I get in dense parts I have to go back and forth with my left hand between scratch and keys I fuck everything up and loose all my groove in 5seconds. It's fucking dumb, I have played for a year like this and have just noticed it playing 10, how do you break such habits?

You're a fucking retard, dude. Especially when the typical price for a button is 5-10 bucks, even the cheap Chinese ones.

And you're complaining about the wires? That's your own fault, there are 2 different fucking arcade standards, one for the switches found in your Sanwa arcade sticks, and one for the much larger microswitches made by companies like Omron. Plenty of zero delay boards come with the larger set, although they can be slightly stiff or loose so you have to adjust them slightly with pliers. I actually did the same thing as you the first time, but you can even stretch out the smaller versions to fit on the larger contacts with a bit of effort, so it's not really worth complaining about.

Buy them from Aliexpress after your new set gets here and you realise it's just another 2 buttons you wasted 20 bucks on. You should expect to spend 40-60 bucks on a set, I'm not up to date on the current prices but mine were about that much.
>>
>>15088061
Not him obviously but I bought my set for around $20 from this seller. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/illuminated-momentary-push-button-switches-switch-push-button/1975662978.html

It came with microswitches, leds and everything, obviously of not the best quality, but they still work fine.
It also appears the seller completely shut down their store, they aren't selling anything anymore.
>>
>>15088061

Look, I get that misreading the listing was my mistake but it doesn't make me fucking retarded. People usually only do this shit once, they can't be faulted for not being intimately familiar with the current prices of big Chinese pushbuttons. There's nothing stupid about thinking you can get a slave made button for 2 damn US dollars.

And those wires I did do exactly what you said, just bent them out a little, it took like 10 minutes and everything is fine, but I checked and double checked both that zero delay board and the Chinese microswitches and I thought they they were both 4.8mm but I guess they weren't. Also, I think some of those board had bigger terminals but not enough wires.

So I made a mistake or two, so what? That seller very easily could have added "1x" in front of the title to clear shit up. His 5 set listing has "5x" to make it clear.

Y'know what, just fuck you.

>>15088275
>>15088061

Also, look at this shit. That's the listing for the board I bought. It literally says 4.8mm for those wires.

Then I looked up the switches those pop'n buttons use and although it doesn't say the terminals are 4.8mm that diagram of dimensions says they are.

Either those dimensions are wrong or that son of a bitch fucked up his listing.

I officially absolve myself of error with regards to the board/wires.

So really I only fucked up on the buttons. 1 silly mistake. Sue me.
>>
>>15088321
It's a shame you can't even read dimension diagrams. They're 6.3mm.

Reading eBay listings so you know what you're actually getting is the basics of basics. If someone is selling a product at a fifth of the cost of competitors, maybe you should be a little more suspicious?
>>
>>15088329

It says fucking 4.7, shitwit. Those terminals flair out.

And if there really are 2 arcade standards, and the wires I got were too small, then the switches are clearly the bigger of the 2 standards.

I think the other one is either 2.4 or 2.8mm.
>>
>>15088339
My bad, they are 4.8mm, I was thinking the flaring was the other way around. The listing is incorrect, although you could have worked it out from looking at similar listings.

All of the correct ZD boards have blue and white wires. That one has red and blue wires, which are only for 2.8mm boards.

It does mention "if your push button is not sanwa, please tell us", and if you did, they would have sent the correct wires. Typically, these boards are used for arcade sticks, where 2.8mm is the standard, so they just shipped the default.
>>
>>15088346

Well I wasn't aware of the absolute arcade standards. That Sanwa means fighting sticks and the such.

But yeah, a few more minutes of research might have done me some good. To be honest, this project kinda started as a wild hair up my ass when I offhandedly looked this shit up and though "Man, this would actually be pretty cheap".

The buttons though are 100% my fault. I've bough 100s of things off ebay and only ever once before have I fucked something up by not reading the listing. A few slipping through the cracks isn't so bad.

Also, sorry for calling you shitwit.
>>
>>15088364
No worries man, I came off as pretty abrasive at first too because of your knee-jerk reaction to blaming the sellers.

Building controllers is pretty simple, and for stuff like Pop'n it blows my mind that people spend ~300 bucks on a controller when they could build one themselves for 100 bucks tops and a few hours of work. At least you're giving it a shot instead of being mindlessly ripped off by some Chinese company who thinks they can get away with charging 10 times what the product is worth because it's a niche market.

Anyone have any experience going from 1P to 2P or visa versa and finding it more comfortable?
I'm thinking maybe a controller is like a guitar where your dominant hand should be doing the seemingly easier load of work.
>>
>>15088733
I barely tried 2P and hated it, and went back to 1P.

For reference, left handed.
>>
>>15089373
I started 2P and can't understand why any lefty would gimp themselves with a left handed scratch. I bet you use a mouse right handed too.
>>
>>15089423
Yep, I use a mouse right handed. I also throw and shoot right handed. It makes more sense to me actually, because the vast majority of keyboard usage for me is on the left side.

1P probably feels better because I used to play piano, so I'm more accustomed to doing fast runs on the keys with the right while stretching out the left for chords/scratches/whatever.
>>
>>15089423

I think dominant on scratch is a much better idea. I've never tried it, but I feel my right hand stronger (from fapping) and all around more maneuverable.
>>
>>15089505

I like playing 1P because it's 4/5 buttons you have to control with your dominant hand, and only scratch and 2/3 buttons for your left hand

>>15087784

Isn't it how you get to the advanced options menu? I always have to use my keyboard
>>
>>15089597
I just use Select for that.
>>
>>15090931
Not that guy, but on AC you'll need VEFX to switch between options/advanced options, and EFFECT to switch between hi-speed and floating hi-speed in the game menu, as well as to quit out of songs/quit out of premium free, so it makes sense to have both if you're going to plan to play AC rips.

I think it's funny, I've been on 4chan for years and years, but because of /jp/ and these threads, I have actually figured out the whole bump limit shit.

Before I thought it merely meant "The number of posts at which a thread can no longer be bumped"

But now I know it means "The amount of times a thread can be bumped"

So if 10 people saged the thread with start dying at 310 posts.

On a board as slow as /jp/ if everyone saged on every post until the thread hit page 10, we could easily have 10000+ post threads.

Makes sense now why m00t was so adamant about using the term bump limit instead of autosaging.
>>
>>15091443
Saging still counts towards the bump limit, it's why sagebombing was a thing a while back. If saging didn't count, you'd be seeing people in generals adamant about saging.
>>
Remember when /jp/ saged?
>>
>>15091451

But I've seen this thread bump at 305.
>>
>>15091455
remember when this board was slightly better than what it is now?
>>
is there a torrent with all the iidx benami songs for LR2
>>
>>15091541
yes check sows
>>
>>15091541

Bms portal on sows, you don't need an account, 4chan thinks the url is spam.
for earlier styles check beatmania co nz
>>
>>15091561
my download always fails when i try to download a whole pack
>>
>>15091790
if you're a member there's a torrent available.

And yeah, downloading the whole pack hasn't ever worked for me, just do it one by one and save them in a folder.

is step up the best mode to play on copula cabs?

im at level 6s
>>
>>15091959
yes
but get the highest dan rank you can before first doing step up or else you'll start from level 1s and have to grind your way up
>>
>>15091948

I'm pretty sure it makes everyone angry
>>
>>15091984
>>15091959
Try 1st dan. Im on 6s and I can pull through the course, so you should too.
>>
>>15091790
I recall downloads (for me at least) failing at like, 99.5%. It should still be un-archivable except for maybe one corrupted song.

The default timing difficulty of these BMS files is also easier than the real deal unless you change it. Given Unix commands, it's possible to automate replacing every single BMS/BME/whatever file to a slightly more difficult setting, but I'm not sure how one would do it on Windows, especially if you aren't familiar with such tools
>>
>>15093470

I have a .bat that automates this process. Got it here several months ago.

It seems sketchy to run .bats and scripts from 4chan but I've done it and it's perfectly fine.

If you want it I can post it.
>>
>>15091948
lol why does a shitty game make you angry?

not like anyone is forcing you to play
>>
>>15091790
i just used wget because im not a pleb.

pseudo-related

Anyone know where I can find Buta-Otome's acoustic albums? I'm having a real hard time finding them. Particularly interested in vol. 9

Does anyone here play DDR or PIU and use a metal pad or a cobalt flux?

I'm looking into buying a cobalt flux pad and haven't been successful in finding one, but what would be the most you'd spend on one?

Would $250 be reasonable if I find pic related? Going to start searching in multiple ddr forums soon to find someone selling one. Craigsljst has someone selling one for $300 but it seems too much for me.
>>
>>15094760

I have CF I never use.

250 might be reasonable in person, but if people have to ship the damn thing it'd be a nightmare and expensive as fuck. I'd want 300 or more.
>>
>>15094802
Is there a reason why it's no longer being used?

I thought so....with shipping I'd probably be looking at that range then. Hope to find one locally
>>
>>15095055
You probably have to be in Cali to find one locally.

Chances are slim if you're anywhere else....
>>
>>15095055

I fucked my knees from years of DDR/ITG and I'm now fat as fuck so I'm never playing again.
>>
>>15094760
just get a precision desu

Does crossxbeats not have an official ost?

What the fuck are you doing naoki? Get your shit together.
>>
>>15095268

Maybe I should stop playing for a few years...
>>
>>15095249
Funny I'm actually in cali but I'm assuming you mean socal right No luck so far here in central cali

>>15095268
Fuck that sucks man it's unfortunate you're most likely not in cali I'd buy it from you
>>
>>15095656
Those omega pads are garbage based on popular criticism of them. Their build is sketchy too
>>
>>15096293
from what i've read they've fixed most of the problems people had with them (including durability) with the last couple of revisions
>>
>>15096584
they're still massively overpriced for what they are.
>>
>>15096605
any guides on how to make an equivalent for cheap?
>>
>>15096726
Not that guy but after doing research, you're still going to spend $220-280 on making your own Ddr pad and that price is for the materials needed assuming you already own the necessary tools to perform the job

>>15096584
The guy still doesn't solder the wires together. He only fixed the issue with pressure

Either way it's still a flat board which I don't like
>>
When are they gonna hurry up and announce prop ost
the one actually good version jubeat gets and they're taking their sweet time

>>

>>15098790

>>
>>15098869
It's easier (timing wise) than IIDX but a bit of a bitch to set up especially if you're going to get LR2HD and try to install themes.

It's temperamental, but works fine.
>>
>>15098874
I feel like having zero understanding of Japanese is going to hurt me in the long run trying to find songs.
>>
>>15098923
just use the BMS gateway on the pig site
>>
>>15098923
The Insane BMS pack torrent should hold you over for a good while. It has songs of all difficulty levels. It's also >50GB.
>>
>>15099212

How does one get all these thousands of songs in LR2 without it bursting into flame?
>>
>>15099905
When you add the folder to the launcher it will sometimes sit there for half an hour, depending on the person's computer. You'll know it's done when it shows the insane bms folder in the list. Then when you run the game and it indexes everything, all you can really do is pray. Worst case, you crash LR2 when it's indexing (i've done it when trying to index 85+ gb at once) and it'll have to start over.
>>
Why the hell is Macuilxochitl still rated a 10?
It's mid 9/hard 9 at best
