Youmu is not a half-ghost. Youmu is a half-phantom, and phantoms and ghosts are different species in Touhou.

Going off of canon, it appears that Myon simply follows Youmu. Her subconscious probably controls it. I doubt Myon has any will of its own.

There is enough characterisation about her in the various side materials CoLA, CiLR and in mainline games to affirm she really is just a dork.

All she has going for her is she is extremely hard working. In fact it's basically like a deliberate parallel between Yuyuko and Yukari that despite being two of the most intelligent and insightful beings in Gensokyo. Both of their immediate servants are pretty terrible at thinking out of the box and do pretty amazingly silly things at times. Basically a pair of dorks.

Yukari needs to admit responsability for Ran being so screwed up. Ran isnt dumb or anything, it's jsut Yukari was a horrrible, horrible mother/master/mentor. How can she act suprised that Ran thinks so roboticly, when she keeps drilling this idea into her that she is just a machine. Yukari treated her like a robot, then is unsatisfied when Ran acts like a fucking robot.
Even when Ran breaks this cycle, Yukari disciplines her for stepping out of line.

If Yukari cant see the prolem here, she is the bigger fool.

I dont imagine Kogasa feeling anything outside of her youkai body. She's an extension of a tool, but a tool itself cant feel anything. Break it and she dies, but thats sort of like an oxygen tank for an old person. Not really the two existing as one.

I have thought for some time, Zun really needs a book written by Eirin dealing with youkai. Given her job she could cover so much about how various characters and species work, and have all sorts of experiments.
