Personally I enjoy their games. Nothing too fancy, but every game has different gameplay, nice characters, nice protagonist with personality and plenty of humor and good h-scenes.

From my perspective, the protagonist of そして明日の世界より pretty much has the ideal life... this setting is ideal. It's the life I want, so I'm really enjoying this novel. I wouldn't even mind the meteor to be honest. Happy family, tight-knit island community, easy going protagonist liked by everyone... this game is ideal. On EGS it got really high ratings under "キャラを取り巻く世界観が良いゲーム" and I fully agree.

I couldn't really get into SakuUta yet (only at the start of Makoto's route) and postponed it for later, so I can't really say when / if things start properly going, but at least SubaHibi gets to the main meat of the story pretty quickly and it's easier to get hooked into. Well most likely Yoshitsune's route will be good / interesting because they saved her for the last and she is kind of important, but I'm still expecting nothing from other two, specially from the Margit after. Adding 10 new character just for that route is not going to make it better, more like it'll be just a mix of many new characters than herself in my opinion.

My opinion is that it had a lot of interesting ideas, I even had a notebook while reading it to expand on some ideas, it was definitely fun; but it lacked some emotional impact that I expect from storytelling and it didn't pull me in until several hours in, so it's hard for me to call it either shit or a masterpiece. A good author will make an interesting school game, a bad author will make a boring school game. Not like a fantasy/sci-fi setting will save a boring game just by virtue of being different. I think Shimokura is improving. It seems he's more suited for this kind of serious stuff, it's entertaining enough so far. But what really shine in Tokyo Necro are the production values. It has literal 3D cinematics in-between the text, the interface, effects and programming are also outstanding. I think it actually uses the Diesel game engine (Payday, Ghost Recon, etc.). Even if you don't like Shimokura I'd suggest to try it just to check that out.

Both Muramasa and SubaHibi are pretty serious games, so if you attack an anon for complaining about the proper plot not starting yet (which is a legitimate complaint) and direct them to Muramasa at the same time you're going to seem like bit of a dickhead looking to rile up shit for no reason. Have you actually played either of them?

Both games also have the problem of their first chapters being somewhat long-winded, with SubaHibi's first chapter being yuri SoL and mood wise almost completely different to the majority of the game (though I personally didn't mind it) while Muramasa's first chapter suffers from shittons of infodump and less interesting protagonist.

Actually this question seems pretty dumb, I'll just put it in a spoiler;

In short all routes are just loops, Originally mc was someone who didnt join student council and didnt pick any of heroines, years later he regretted it and thanks to some god he sent back into his highschool days, of course without any memories.


So far its not a big problem, the shit starts after you finish some routes. Mc kind of returns into same spot even after going into a heroine route, and "DECIDES" to leave his current lover -heroine- for going back into his school days, so he can choose Haruka this time. And it continues 4 times, MC goes back > chooses another heroine without his original memories > then remembers the other route memories as well as his original memories > then says ah fuck I dont want this girl either and leaves her as well. In short it just feels like he played all other heroines until he get bored and threw them away like a trash, going into the next one.

This shit is not getting explained until the Haruka route btw, so until you play entire game you are playing it just as a classic school life game with some dramas.

Thanks to this retarded plot it definitely didnt leave a good taste in my mouth, and many other people complained about this shit as well so I dont think root nuko will make any new games from now on.
