Well in AT they explained that as the Towers providing the music, but Surge Concerto threw a spanner in those works thanks to them all singing without needing a server to process it...

>>
>>14780328
In SC, there are two types of songs: Hymmes and Cielns. Cielns are programs that are run by REON, who is basically god (Oversight), and Hymmes are run by the Genoms, who are basically biological reality-processing machines, mini living Ar Tonelicos, if you will.
>>
>>14790629
Cielns are run by the Surge Concerto Terminal, while the songs processed by the Cielnotron Server (either REON or the Sharls) are called ClassDrive Programs.
>>
>>14790629
>>14790883
The problem isn't "what's processing the song", it's "what's providing the backing music that goes along with the singing".

In AT it was the Song Servers providing the music, and for Trons and Cieln's its obviously the trons and Soreil itself providing the music, but when it's a Genom harmonized with a Human, or a Sharl or Incarnate singing on their own, and as such not running through any computer, what provides the background music then?
>>
>>14790909
>when it's a Genom harmonized with a Human, or a Sharl or Incarnate singing on their own, and as such not running through any computer, what provides the background music then?
The Genoms (Sharls, 7th dimensional being).

Sound and emotion are both parts of physical reality. The Genoms not only translate emotion to affect reality, they can translate emotion into sound.

The background music is part of the song magic, in a sense. It's a feedback loop though, sort of like TCP as opposed to UDP.
>>
>>14790909
>>14790959

Also, who do you think provide the D-Waves used to manifest the Song Magic in the real world? The Genoms, and D-Waves also comprise the sound waves that make up the music we hear.

I finally got to play AT3 and it is not as bad as people say. The combat definitely taken a dive in terms of speed but the new strategic elements keeps the battle interesting, AT2 combat feels too straightforward in comparison. Having the hymmnos as the battle music that dynamically changes is a nice touch. I don't understand why people dis AT3 as an inferior poorman's Tales.
Not the mention that the heroines and their personas are much more interesting than the AT2 heroines and Aoto has more personality than Croix.
>>
>>14794396
While I agree AT3 is a much better game than most people give credit to it, allow me to disagree with the heroines being more interesting than Cloche, Luca or Jakuri, or that Aoto is a better viewpoint character than Croix.
>>
>>14794806
I wont argue about the girls since everyonee have their tastes but there is nothing worse than typical betamax MC.
>>
>>14794396
Can't say I disagree, but in all honesty, AT3 combat system feels like an unpolished version of "Tales of...". I'd like to add one thing to your post - AT3 Hymmnos are top quality. Sure, there's always CUTYPUMP (which I hate with passion, but gotta admit its style kinda makes sense), but tracks like REBIRTHIA=PROTOCOL, Hoshimeguri no Uta, Ec Tisia or XaaaCi are among my favorites in the whole series. I rarely see any opinions on music while discussing AT3, which is quite surprising.
>>
>>14794954
Considering Aoto isn't very different from Lyner, and how are both incarnations of the classical idiot protagonist, I fail to see your point.
>>
>>14795005
Unfortunately some people dismiss the songs from it due to them being "too J-Popish", despite the world setting supporting the variety of styles for the Reyvateils' songs and the fact that there are many tracks that still keep the Ar tonelico feelings that was established in the first two games.
>>
>>14794954
Are you calling Croix beta? The guy who dropped Luca? The guy who learned Hymmnos well enough to sing an impromptu duet with his lover?
>>
>>14795005
Rebirthia and Ec Tisia are still among my top favorites out of Ar and Surge

But I just hated every minute of combat and I wanted to strangle most of the main characters. Some of the secondaries were ok, I guess.
>>
>>14796529
You're going to hate the epilogue light novels too then, since Aoto and company share the spotlight a lot with the AT1 and AT2 characters.
>>
>>14796529
>hating the combat
>>14795005
>AT3 combat system feels like an unpolished version of "Tales of..."
Combat has never been the focus of the AT games. The system falls on a weird spot between an Action RPG and a rhythm game but it was unique and does what it intended to do. In contrary, if it plays like a Tales game it would not feel like a Ar Tonelico game. Just look at ToX2.
>>
>>14796820
>Combat has never been the focus of the AT games
And I get that. I would have skipped it if I could

>The system falls on a weird spot between an Action RPG and a rhythm game
Then it failed because the average rhythm never matched the slow attack speed and animations. So rather than trying to sync button presses it was more like waiting for a peak to show up before attacking
>>
>>14796820
There's still a difference between an acceptably good combat system and a bad combat system. AT1, AT2, and AnS all have fun combat systems. They're not winning any awards, but they work. AT3 on the other hand... wouldn't hurt for some tweaks.

>>

Also, is "purging" a thing that the third game added for the sake of fanservice? Was this concept was absent in the previous title or it was hinted somehow in the lore which went over my head?
>>
Are AT fans autistic?
>>
>>14797358
>it was hinted somehow in the lore which went over my head?
There's actually a huge in-universe spoiler about the purge system.

The three reyvateils in AT3 are the only ones capable of absorbing the planet's waves to strengthen their song magic for the same reason they can host Wills of the Planet within them. That's why AT1 and AT2 didn't have Purge.
>>
>>14797358
Yep, added for fanservice and doesn't exist in AT1 or 2. They try to explain it though
>>
>>14797358
Though it still goes inline with the idea of the heroines revealing themselves before the protagonist the more he knows them, as higher Purge levels still require clearing the Cosmosphere before they can be used in battle, with nasty consequences if you try to trigger a Purge before you've gotten the right to use it.

>>14798056
oh huh, i didn't realize they'd explained more about the Orgel of Origins.

that's actually kinda disappointing, i preferred it when the Orgel of Origins was just a weird fluke of EXA_PICO's physics.

although I was kinda right, it's not running off the Microquasar at all, it's running off residual mass at the site of Ra Ciela's core
>>
>>14798056
>>14798040
The Quasar and the Ar nosurge Tube have nothing to do with the Orgel of Origins: what the Orgel does is absorb matter from around Ra Ciela and convert it into energy, as it should be obvious if you both actually read that article. If it used the Quasar, the Tower would have stopped working right after Ra Ciela was created.
>>
>>14798084
>it's running off residual mass at the site of Ra Ciela's core

It's running from the matter "around" Ra Ciela. The article doesn't say anything about Ra Ciela's core, and if that were the case, the planet that was created at the end of Ar nosurge would have been destroyed during its creation process.
>>
>>14798084
Yeah I kinda preferred the "we made a music box out of something that converts sound into energy" thing better too

Even though thermodynamics says you couldn't get more energy out of the energy used to make the sound in the first place, EXA_PICO physics is tailored to allow for magic so whatever
>>
>>14798084
>it's not running off the Microquasar at all, it's running off residual mass at the site of Ra Ciela's core
The residual mass is the microquasar.

>Ion blows up Ra Ciela
>Ra Ciela is now a microquasar
>Hymmnesphere uses microquasar energy to move to new planet
>fast forward thousands of years
>microquasar should no longer have enough energy to do anything
>Ciel nosurge players send energy from our dimension to recharge the microquasar
>After Ra Ciela rebirth, the microquasar is basically a part of the planet.
Since the power is ultimately coming from us, there's no violation of EXA_PICO physics.
>>
>>14798114
Wrong: the Microquasar was used up during Ra Ciela's recreation. If the Orgel worked entirely on the Microquasar's own energy, it would have run out of energy to extract long ago.
>>
>>14798099
Ra Ciela's core IS Ra Ciela

>>14798114
Uh... you remember Nelo sabotaged the planetary migration to stop them using up the microquasar's energy, right?
>>
>>14798136
Instead of going by the wiki article (which is just a fan translation), why not try reading the actual Japanese source?

>>14798162
Yes, then Nero used the energy instead to jump time. End result is the microquasar no longer had enough energy.
>>
>>14798105
Yet EXA_PICO's physics still obey the Law of the Conservation of Matter, and magic is still ultimately science to them. You just have to look at Metafalica's creation process to see that.

Plus, the Orgel was already stated to be a white hole device since AT3's release, and the Orgel was never stated to be converting sounds into energy.
>>
>>14798178
>Yes, then Nero used the energy instead to jump time. End result is the microquasar no longer had enough energy.
Well, no. She jumped ahead in time to get somewhere she wouldn't be interrupted so she could use the energy to go home.
>>
>>14798178
I ask you the same thing. In none of the setting books, games or in the official World Setting Documents wiki it says anything about the Microquasar being what the Orgel feeds on.
>>
>>14798191
And where do you think the energy came from for her to execute the jump? A Fourth-Axis Shift still requires a lot of energy to be executed, especially one that moves two people 5000 years into the future.

cont.

Also what makes you think Ar Ciel and Ra Ciela are at the same point on the timeline?

The Orgel of Origins white hole was created when Ra Ciela was destroyed. The rebirth of Ra Ciela happens thousands of years in the future. Yet Delta visits Ar Ciel not even a few hundred years after the creation of the Orgel.
>>
The lore of EXA_PICO was already inconsistent during AT days, but now it just feels like meta shit. I don't like where Tsuchiya is going with this.

>Can anyone tell me about Atelier fan games?
>Does anyone have Astaea ARM's artbook?

Since there is still no COSMOCRYSTAL Album in sight, I'm putting Music Collection on-hold.
>>
>>14798224
Wrong. Ra Ciela's rebirth took place 700 years prior to the first Ar tonelico game, and the timeline point is shown during the brief visit to Ar Ciel in Ar nosurge.

Plus, what you're saying implies that Ra Ciela was destroyed at some point between Ar nosurge and AT1, completely invalidating the Ar nosurge True Ending and everything we did during it and Ciel nosurge.

Also, that image only explains how the singularity that connects the points in space where the two planets are was formed. It has nothing to do with the Orgel.
>>
>>14798224
>>14798257
I thought the Orgel was just tapping into the pathway that Ion originally created during Ra Ciel Fusor (the same pathway Cass and Delta later took using DISTLLISTA)

>>14798257
>>
>>14798272
Yes. That is why Cass and Delta traveled using DISTILLISTA

Microquasar (Center of the Ra Ciela) ---> Orgel of Origins
>>
>>14798296
The Microquasar is the thing in the Flask Sea aboard the Soreil where you fight the Maternal Overseer. The Center of Ra Ciela is the thing off in space they have to travel by Space Bus to reach, they're totally different things.
>>
>>14798284
So on this fucked up and explicitly objectively wrong timeline, why does the portal that Ion opens by destroying Ra Ciela lead to 5000 years before the Orgel is created?
>>
>>14798333
That's my point, obviously space-time is being bent greatly.

There's a reason it's called space-time. Time is just another dimension of space.
>>
>>14798350
What is even the point of this time warp?

The power draw to create the second tower didn't even exist until after the events of Ar Nosurge.
>>
>>14798361
>What is even the point of this time warp?
What do you mean, point? I don't think anyone was worried about what time they were connecting to on the other end of the space-time hole. The only person who could potentially guide the destination "time" is Ion when she first started the transfer, DISTILLISTA and the Orgel are just piggy-backing that willy-nilly.
>>
>>14798350
You really failed at understanding the end of Ciel nosurge, the Qualia Dimension Theory and what Ra Ciel Fuser and Class::DISTLLISTA; then. Aside of the jump to 5000 years in the future Nero and Ion did, no time traveling was involved on the events from after Ra Ciel Fuser was sung.
>>
>>14798314
That seems odd, since the Soreil was Plan C. The original goal was to use the microquasar using the Hymmesphere. So where was the microquasar in the first place, and how did they relocate it to the Soreil?

Do you have a link to the source in the game?
>>
>>14798385
>Qualia Dimension Theory
What does that have to do with anything? We're not talking about alternate possibilities here, we're still staying solidly within the first four dimensions.
>>
>>14798385
I'm no physicist, but once you start opening holes in space-time, it's not a matter of "no time traveling was involved", you simply cannot two points in space-time that far apart and have the phrase "happening at the same time" mean anything.
>>
>>14798397
>>14798385
>>14798380

Because the Qualia Dimension Theory takes in account the first four dimensions too, smart guy.

And anyway, Ion's Oversight only pointed them to a tridimensional point in space to find another planet, not taking account travel through any of the higher dimensions, as even traveling through time would completely deplete the Quasar's energy before everyone could have crossed to the new planet. Hell, all the explanations about the quantum window opened by Ra Ciel Fuser say it's just a teleportation of sorts and that time travel has nothing to do with its effects.
>>
>>14798423
Why don't you go read how the Axis Shifts work then? What Ion did with the Ra Ciel Fuser was carry out a Third Axis Shift, and that causes no time travel of any sort. If she had done a Fourth Axis Shift (impossible without depleting the Quasar's energy before everyone could have descended from the Hymmnesphere to the new planet), then that would have involved time travel.
>>
What do you guys make of this?

File 16: Connected Worlds

I doubted the values I saw in the terminal I had before my eyes, as they showed energy emanating little by little from the coordinates where Ra Ciela's center used to be, yet it seemed to be constantly consumed at a rate that wasn't abnormal on a planetary scale.
This can only mean one thing: there is a spatial distortion, and the energy is flowing to the other side of said distortion.
While right now we don't know why this phenomenon occurs, we do know one fact: that the planet to which our comrades were sent so long lies on the other side of the distortion.

The spatial connection that was established thanks to the Grand Phoenix Project was never cut off. Right now, this will become the greatest hope to the living creatures that inhabit this world.
There are so many people living their lives the hardest they can within this region of Orei. We must craft a world where they can live while smiling... we must craft hope for them.

The matter around Ra Ciela that is getting converted into energy and then drawn by the Orgel.
>>
>>14798534
That probably is coming from the Orgel of Origins.

Given the timeline for Ar Tonelico (http://artonelico.wikia.com/wiki/Chronology_%26_Timeline), the Orgel was created a good hundred years before Ar Tonelico was finished, and then it's another 30-ish years before Shurelia is created, and Cass and Delta are still only in their 20's, the Orgel must have been created and hooked up to Ra Ciela's Core long before the people in Felion came out of stasis.

But given that timeline is incorrect now (Syestine was destroyed before Shurelia was created, but Delta and Cass meet Shurelia and go to Syestine), it's more likely it is just the remnants of the connection Ion established with Ra Ciel Fusor

Thanks, my new wallpaper.
Still feeling salty there are no wallpapers showing the true glory of Ar Tonelico itself, though. The designers put so much effort into making it look majestic, and yet not even one shoddy wallpaper with it.
Maybe I should try looking if I can somehow make a screenshot from AT1 map, or if it's too close for that.

What the hell is with this game and suicidal girls?

At least Veola's motivation at least made some sense, this one just made me burst out laughing.
>>
>>14799471
Also, dropped, since I've been pretty much playing this game for Veola at this point and apparently we don't even get a choice but to end up with Lita.

Absolutely disgusting.
>>
>>14799471
I actually like the way she thinks.
>>
>>14799210
Looked at it. As I thought, too close.
Know the angle it shows when you're looking at the city of Nemo in AT1 on World Map. Well, if it was just a little bit farther away, showing both the middle of the tower and the island from this or similar angle, I think it would be just ideal.
Well, I guess if somebody drew it, it could be tweaked to emphasize the Tower and to show the clouds beneath Sol Ciel. In any case, that's the thing that nobody ever drew and which would make for a good wallpaper.
Eh, whatever. I guess I will have to make do with what else is there. I think Metafalls actually had a drawing from fitting perspective, or something.
>>

Yeah, because it's not like Veola was acting like a complete cunt towards Lita, right? Oh wait, she was! Also, she blew up her chances herself. But at least she had the courage to admit it.

>Half of the Wings of Horus is missing already
>Weird giant bowl-shaped thing connecting Wings of Horus to the tower
>The city at the base of the tower is exactly at the level where the clouds of the Sea of Death end up being
>It's TINY
>>
>>14800761
The bowl thing is the Parabola Shield that protects the Wings of Horus from wave-based weaponry.

And the size of the Tower and the height at which the city of El Elemia is located are just a trick of the scale used to make the entire picture appear whole at once in the screen, so you're placing far too much stock into them.

>>14800810
I forgot about the Parabola Shield, although I thought it was meant to be more of a forcefield style thing than a giant white bowl.

Although the scale of the tower is totally fucked. There's meant to be a lot more tower below the cloud line including the Parameno Discs, but none of it's there in that shot. That shot just uses the cloud line as the base of the tower and calls it a day, not to mention you shouldn't be able to make out individual buildings so easily given how big Nemo is compared to the Wings of Horus.

Also isn't Ar tonelico meant to be built out of the top of a mountain or am I misremembering that?
>>
>>14800866
I concede they missed out on half of the Wings of Horus and that the Parameno Discs aren't shown, though Dics could have been covered by the buildings. That's not Nemo though, that's El Elemia. Nemo wouldn't be founded until after Mir's Rebellion.

And Ar tonelico can't be built on the top of a mountain because of the lack of proper foundations for a structure as tall and heavy as it, which is why it was built on a depression between them. And what height would it require to broadcast its Song Magic and Symphonic Power signals if the Grathnode Discs are already at an altitude nearing the atmosphere's limits?
>>
>>14800730
You'll be able to choose any waifu/bro in MK.
>>
>>14800895
>That's not Nemo though, that's El Elemia.
That's my point. El Elemia would be way WAY bigger than Nemo, but going by the scale of the buildings in that shot compared to the map screens for Nemo they're about the same size.

And I thought it was built using a mountain as a base precisely because it's so tall, so they didn't have to build as much of it themselves.
>>
>>14800756
>complete cunt
Please, at the very least it went both ways from the moment they met. And it was all banter anyway, they got along just fine. Also, she wasn't a shitty tsundere, so she got that going for her.

>Please stop.
But that's what happened, girl put a ring on it, was vocal about her feelings, and didn't even get as much as "sorry, not interested" from Klein - who goes from ignoring both of them equally to swapping bodily fluids with Lita like it ain't no thing in record time.

Seriously though I mostly just have no fucking clue what the devs were thinking there. It would be different if it was a random side character whose affection was played as a joke, but she legitimately has more character development and better emotional connection with the player than anyone in the actual party. The way she slowly learned to smile over the course of doing stuff for her shop was great.

>I should probably mention your ridiculousness of playing Iris only because of one female character.
Do you even realize where you are?

And I didn't start playing the game for her, but god knows she was the only thing that kept me interested. It's not like the game had much else going on for it.

I feel kind of bad not finishing a game I put so much time in, and I intended to go through all the Iris games, but I guess I'll cut my losses and go play Mana Khemia like that other anon said.
>>
>>14800761
Uh, the tower isn't "finished" during AnS, is it? They still have a few years development left, as well as the 700 years after the Grathnode Inferia for things like Nemo.
>>
>>14803074
It was completed already by that time. The only things missing by then are the Silver Horn (err... Sylva Horn) and the Crescent Chronicle, since these were added after the Grathnode Inferia.
>>
>>14803219
Yes, it was "completed", but that doesn't mean they didn't make changes to it afterward, right? Like adding on non-essential parts, or moving things. The Wings of Horus, for example, could have been raised or lowered. The AT1 El Elemia would not have existed yet. Etc.
>>
>>14803327
What reason would they have to change the altitude for the Wings of Horus, since it was said it reached its ideal altitude a few years after its completion, and lowering them would have been the epitome of idiocy after the Sea of Death appeared?

And what would have El Elemia have to do with anything if that city was destroyed with the of Ar Ciel's surface?
>>
>>14803644
>lowering them would have been the epitome of idiocy after the Sea of Death appeared?
Could have lowered due to damage during the Inferia.

>>14803644
>And what would have El Elemia have to do with anything if that city was destroyed with the of Ar Ciel's surface?
Meant Platina.

Looking at >>14800866
the only real problem is that the scale is off, but everything is there, isn't it? It seems like one of the Wings is missing, but the timeline says that the Right Wing was under construction even after the Inferia, so it makes sense that it isn't here now.

If it wasn't there when the Inferia took place, it wouldn't have existed afterwards either, as they had to raise the landmass around the Tower to make the Wings.

Also, the missing Wing in the video looks like a mess up, since both Wings are visible in the world map model for Ar Ciel in Ar nosurge.

Shikata's recent albums have been a little underwhelming since Istoria ~Kalliope~ and some parts of Laylania
>>
So, after completing Ch.8 of Ciel nosurge, I'm a bit confused regarding 6 dimensional shifts.

Nero's shift apparently changed the past so that Clacket/Sarly/Zill turned into BFFs, but then it kinda doesn't make sense that they'd end up in the same situation in Genomirai since the events from Four Seasons most likely wouldn't have happened like that.

Likewise, when Nay and Ion shifted back, what happened to their counterparts from that point in time? And how did Ion get her body back?

Is this explained somewhere or is it a case of "It's magic, I don't have to explain shit!" ?
>>
>>14819308
A Sixth Axis Shift is essentially reality warping, and what Nero did was just change the world to a possibility identical to the one they were at but just changing Clacket and Sarly so they would follow her plan to the letter. It didn't matter if it didn't make sense, and that's part of why that shift caused the world to start breaking down.

As for Ion and Nay, what they did was: "return us to the original qualia and possibility positions, back to the instant in time prior to Zill and Nero doing their Sixth Axis Shift, but move us in space from wherever we were originally to the Center of Power while still retaining all memories we got ever since the Sixth Axis Shift happened". There were no "counterparts" there because Ion and Nay "overwrote" themselves when they went back in time, and the same goes for why Ion was alive again.
>>
>>14821119
I suppose that would explain it, yeah. It also made me think of that one BGM track labeled "HACK=MAGIC".

My only exposure of the Atelier series is Mana Khemia and i loved the soundtrack. Is it worth picking up the Limited edition copy of the games just for the OST.
>>
>>14825326
All we can really tell you is that the Mana Khemia soundtrack is about typical of the Atelier series.

If you don't enjoy the games, you'd be better off importing the soundtracks from Japan. If you do enjoy the games, check how the premium you pay for the LE compares with the price you would normally pay for music. For example, I'm not willing to pay NISA's $40 premium for the Nights of Azure LE ($99.99 vs $59.99) For Atelier Shallie, the premium for the LE was only $15, which I was willing to pay.

I expect some people on this thread will sneer at you for being willing to pay anything for music, when you can pirate it.
>>
>>14825587
From what i've heard Mana Khemia has more emphasis on combat than alchemy but the alchemy aspects stood out to me more. I just want to know if the LE includes the complete OST. $10 for LE without disc sounds like a bargain but i want get some opinion first. Googling gave me mix results with some saying NIS LE tends to not have the complete soundtrack.
>>
>>14825693
It's not the complete OST, which wouldn't fit on a single disc, but rather a selection. I don't have that one, but typically NISA made pretty good selections. See the review at http://www.rpgfan.com/soundtracks/manakhemia-us/index.html
I'd certainly pay $10 for that soundtrack in pristine condition.

Perhaps this is blasphemy, but I listen to the vocal cds to the EXA_PICO games before I play them (the exception being AT1).

For anyone else that has done this, have you noticed a change in how you felt about a song when you got to it in game?

Like, in Ar nosurge, Lxa ti-cia was my favorite on the cds, but when I got to it in game, I found the song utterly underwhelming. On the other hand, there was Class::AR_NOSURGE#RE:Incarnation which I merely thought acceptable until I got to it in game, when I came to love it. Also I came to like Ra Ciel Reincarnation more when I got to the final boss.

I don't think I experienced this as much with the Ar Tonelico games, other than being disappointed by the XaaaCi boss fight and going "what the hell is this, it's awesome" when Au GuMu played.
>>
>>14833193
The idea is actually experiencing the songs in-game actually, so looking forward to seeing them in-game even if you already heard them beforehand is still good.

But despite the XaaaCi fight being underwhelming, didn't you feel anything when that song started playing and the FMV prior to the battle was shown?

Wait, why is Sophie and Yoru no nai marketed together so heavily? Is it just KT being silly or are they actually going to be related?

Actually, it's an A4-size lithograph of that particular artwork. They're selling lithographs for the other key visuals from YoruKuni and Sophie as well.

Well shit. I've messed up with Myu's battle and have been locked out from Saki's true ending. It was abit underwhelming finishing Saki "bad" ending because alot of questions were left unanswered. I felt bad for Finnel more than i did for Saki even though it's her "bad" ending.

Does anyone actually like Saki? I didn't really felt for her because acting as a moeblob most of the time is not the way to form a connection with the player. Does she get better in the other endings?
>>
>>14845047
>Does anyone actually like Saki?
Yes, there even is a doujin circle that has made quite some doujinshi with her.
>>
>>14845144
>Doujinshi
>Implying that is indicative of a character's fanbase
Sometimes people just want to fap to a character design cater to their fetish and shit. I'm genuinely asking if anyone actually likes her and felt a connection with the character.
>>
>>14845221
>I'm genuinely asking
And I gave you an genuine answer. What do you expect to get as reply? Hundreds of people who like Saki to testify their love for Saki to you?
>>
>>14844703
If it smiled while eating me I would. Smiling denotes some form of sapience.
>>
>>14845047
I did. And if you pay attention to the story she tells in her normal ending (which contains the same feelings expressed in Sands of Time, the song that is heard while the story is told), you can empathize with her, since both are basically her knowing she won't live for long due to her mission as Ar Ru's vaccine, and so she makes all these things (stories, songs and the like) in order for everyone: her students, her friends and Aoto to remember her after she dies, as due to being a Pureblood Reyvateil, she won't even leave a corpse behind after her death. She also had some moving moments, like what happens in the airship to Moocheriel if you've given all the three hearts to her.

Also, something important that you should know is that the normal endings are completely different, but the bad ending doesn't change at all regardless of route chosen.
>>
>>14843267
The only thing you're contribute to is your ego. Gust thread was never as shitty as today. I would rather see it dead than like this.
>>
>>14845927
I agree with this person. There's absolutely no reason to keep this thread alive by spamming images just for the sake of it. I understand you like to see your name on /jp/, so you might feel the need keep the thread on the front page persistently, but what about the rest of us? If the desire for discussion arises, we can create a new thread at any time.
>>
>>14845927
Yeah, because it's not like we need new content, right? Who needs content anyway? We should have continued with the old OP!
I've seen literally NOTHING but constant whining from people of your kind. All you do is complaining about my name and such while yourself contributing absolutely nothing to the thread and polluting it with negativity, Good job, asshole.
Also, no fucking one is forcing you to stay. Leave if you want. But obviously no, it's better to call namefag a faggot and sleep well at night, right?

>>14845992
Because other people don't do the same? They don't post images of cards in the thread? Oh wait, they do! Actually, that's just for imageboard for. My name has nothing to do with it either, it's just simple hate clouding your judgment. As for me, I'm simply sharing content, nothing else.
>>
Is worth buying a 3.55 OFW PS3 to play Gust games? They are selling for about 200 dollars on ebay right now.
>>
>>14846031
The only one bitching and whining in this thread is you. And by ``contributing'' you are talking about spamming images no one cares about? Or about your glorified batch torrent that was already available in several other forms? It's hard to take your for serious, since all you do is promoting your own stuff here (just look at the OP). You would probably be better served posting in regular forums with your attitude.
>>
>>14846031
Even shitposters contribute to this thread more than you. Sorting shit from google and nya != creating content. At this point clearing your name field would be the biggest contribution you ever made to this thread.
>>
>>14846077
Every thread, without fail I tried to be polite with you, but, since, you obviously want confrontation, here you go.
Of all people, you and your kind were the ones calling me attention whore and such. Always trying to stir up shit and generally polluting the discussion. Yeah, nice contributing. I tried to make a low profile and post only something to share with people, but even now you still find something to complain about. How about you stop doing worthless things and do something for people yourself? But who am I kidding, judging by how you behaved earlier, you are a lazy fucking autist.
>No one cares about
Stop talking out of your ass.
>Glorified batch torrent
The music collection right now is the biggest compilation of EXA_PICO music in the world. I hardly can call it glorified, since I did it for the community foremost, but whatever helps you sleep at night. I also constantly seek ways to improve it, but your hate makes you forget these little things, huh?
I also did Visual Collection, but you conveniently forgot to mention it. And I maintain a lot of other shit too. But that's too, is unimportant, right?
This is not my stuff either, since I shared it with people. Yes, I used my name a bit, gave myself a little credibility. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, most people, unlike you autist, don't give a fuck. They just want content, and I provide it. Again, unlike your sorry paranoid ass.

Now, this discussion clearly is going nowhere. Let me tell you once more. I'm not going anywhere. There are still things I need to do, like Atelier Visual Collection or Atelier Music Collection, etc. And, regardless of what some prick says, I will do it.
>>
>>14846071
Just for gust games? Absolutely no. Get vita as it has all the improved editions.
>>
>>14846106

>>
>>14846160

newfag here. I marathoned the Arland trilogy last year and really fell in love with the series. I never had such a cozy relaxing experience playing a game.

Currently towards the end of my first play of Ayesha+ on my PSTV and I am really liking it, perhaps even better than Arland. Something about the chemistry of the characters and the slightly more serious story is really nice. The humor is still there, but the stakes are higher and it doesn't have as many moments where the whole thing feels like a joke which happened with Arland sometimes. Looking forward to the next two games.

I just synth'd the "best" whetstone/polish for my teammates but could use some help on Ayesha kit as well as Acc. since they allow you to stack the same property multiple times. Ayesha has a lot of choices but I am assuming Evasion, MP, and Item Power stuff? I am gearing up to be ready for New Game + so I can Plat the game and get all the unlocks.

Wilbell a best mahoutsukai

Not the person you quoted, but I think the point was that OFW 3.55 allows pirating the games.
>>
>>14846670
And Luca is not a slut. Just because it's a "widely accepted opinion" doesn't make a lie into truth, especially after it was shown in AT2 that Dive Therapy isn't prostitution, that the Grand Bell misrepresents the service so IPDs can't be be cured, and that even Cloche admitted she was in the wrong when she saw what the training to be a Therapist involved. Hell, Luca doesn't even allow people to touch her during her Therapy sessions according to the glossary and her Infelsphere, while Nana is actually stated to allow indecent things in her sessions.

>Tales
>each character has a ton of basic combos
>said combos change depending on directions that the player holds down
>a long list of interesting, memorable special attacks which add depth to the combat system
>animations are excellent, and portray a sense of fluidity and power in the battle

>AT3
>each character has only one monotonous combo
>and four boring special attacks
>and one cutscene finisher
>animations are horrible; you feel like your character is hitting a wall, which in turn hits the enemy
>the song magic gimmick doesn't do shit to cover up how lazy and bare bones that combat system is

I actually really liked every other aspect of AT3, but the combat system is undeniably garbage from a team that had no idea what they were doing. I'm sure that I could expand the list of flaws even further if it hadn't been years since I'd played. I had to wash the taste out of my mouth with a SO3 run after I finished it.

This kinda makes me wish that modern day Gust remade AT3 with a completely re-hauled combat system and more polished graphics. I'm sure that they'd do a much better job now.

Do we expect Sophie to be PS4-only in the English-language version? Has there been anything said officially?
>>
>>14876706
Nothing but given that the Atelier Plus game were released on Vita and that seemingly no such thing is planned for Atelier Sophie you can hope for a PS4+Vita release in the West.
No PS3 though as it seems that KT has completely dropped support of it.

Is there a CG rip of Cross Edge somewhere?

I'm pretty sure this one is incomplete:
http://www.creativeuncut.com/art_cross-edge_a.html

I don't know why I expected it to run on GUST's engine, but it (kinda obviously) runs on a really old version of IF/CH's one. So while it shouldn't take too much effort to adapt modern tools for IF/CH games (such as FFF and Mugen Souls) to CE, I'd rather not bother reinventing the wheel to extract something already available (if it is).
>>
>>14846071
It's only worth it if you're going to pirate every single one of them, because the only arguable advantage of CFW over OFW for the average gamer otherwise is the CFW's ability to play the undub of Atelier Ayesha. Note that Ayesha+ on the Vita is officially dual language.
That said, neither PS4 nor Vita have been hacked enough to allow game modding (and it's likely too late for the VIta already), so if you're looking forward to playing modded GUST games, CFW PS3 is the only realistic choice unless you're ready to wait years for PS3 emulation on PC to become at least somewhat playable.

All AT related CG from Cross Edge are presented in Visual Collection. All Atelier ones will be presented too in it's own Visual Collection. As for the rest of them, try e-hentai or exhentai.

Just finished act 1 in AT3.

The antics taken out of a poorly thought out love hina clone don't fit so well in the AT universe. The purge sequences look like graveur DVD teasers, and should have at most been limited to the lower depths of the cosmosphere.

On the bright side, after finally finishing tales of zestria, it's nice to have combat where the baddies don't turn immune to damage for 10+ second intervals and the crafting system has more depth than grinding a specific baddie for a drop and then combine that drop into a +10 drop ad nauseum.

The best part is the overarching story...is actually a story. Goddamn the zestria story was non-existant, it was at best a 35 hour re-inactment of the OP, only with shittier music the whole way.AT3 looks so far to have its eggs in the far opposite basket, but with 300% swords Ayatame and item synthesis Sasha cameos brilliantly sewn in.
>>
>>14890415
I'll just say that none of the cameos are just that.

Also, just wait a little more. The story starts actually getting interesting by the time you end Phase 2.

I've already gone through an English summary of ciel, I should be good.
>>
>>14903627

The summary isn't a real substitute for the LP fue to lacking the voice acting and music, as well as omitting several things. Plus, the LP has some extras that deepen the understanding of the game like translations for some of the drama discs.
>>
And looks like we can actually see how everything ends in Ar tonelico now:

So, up to when should I play Ciel nosurge before starting Ar nosurge?
I'm kind of confused about the Sekailink function.

I know I should play some of Ciel > Start Ar > Transfer some things to Ar, such as the plugins > Finish Ar > Finish Ciel, but what are the critical triggers/flags I should watch out for?
>>
>>14907941
For Ciel, you must have already cleared at least Chapter 10 and have married Ion if you want the dialogue changes to have effect, but I'd hold off until you have cleared Ciel's 12th Chapter to have all the plugins available. As for Ar nosurge, you'll need to clear the game up to its final save point to unlock the two costumes you from it, the special dream sequences and all the encrypted documents given by the Ion Extend Talk Pack Vol. 3.
>>
>>14908164
Not the person you replied to, and I guess it's a silly question, but ... Sekai Link doesn't work with the English version of Ar Plus, does it?
>>
>>14908164
But that would mean finishing Ciel to unlock content in Ar, and almost-finishing Ar to unlock content in Ciel.
Those seem almost mutually exclusive.
>>
>>14908256
But it fits with the release history, where Ar Nosurge was released when Ciel wasn't quite finished.
>>
>>14908179
If the GenomiLink menu doesn't appear when you press X on a save point, it means the Sekai Link is impossible.
>>
>>14908256
And you wouldn't be finishing Ciel either: even after you clear Chapter 12, you have still to unlock and clear the Terminate Pack before the game ends.
>>
>>14908579
I actually haven't bought Ar Plus yet, only the regular PS3 version when it was released back then. Didn't play it yet since I want to finish Ciel first, but since I got a Vita for Ciel anyhow, I'm tempted to get Ar Plus as well for moar purifications and the other added stuff.

anyone knows the meaning of the letters on the OST? like MSGYEC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bavFOB3p_g
and
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz-2e9VtaSw
>>
>>14908644
As said above, the ones in Forest of Illusion don't seem to have any meaning and are only for atmosphere.

On the other hand, "MSGYEC" seems to be actually Norse runes, like the ones found in the first line to the Atelier Iris 1 opening theme, and the song itself only repeats endlessly "I shall give you endless earth" and "A-R-T-O-N-E-L-I-C-O".
>>
>>14908845
Quite sure it's "My Song Gives You Endless Courage"
>>
>>14908915
It's "I shall give you endless earth", remember what the series' story is ultimately all about: restoring the devastated planet's surface before it ultimately dies.
>>
>>14908845
>>14909140
I don't buy it.
Listen to the beginning of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MxvDGiUPgU
It just doesn't sound like it at all, even with allowance of nip pronunciation.
It's pretty obviously "courage", or at the very least, not "earth".
And where does this statement even come from? Is there sauce on it?
>>
>>14909356
Allow me to disagree due to the simple fact that the end doesn't sound like "courage" at all.
>>
>>14909508
What does it sound like, then? Because it's certainly not "earth".
Also, I disagree. I actually think it's one of the places where it's heard the clearest.
>>
>>14908594
>even after you clear Chapter 12, you have still to unlock and clear the Terminate Pack
Oh. That's critical information. Thanks.

So uhhh... looking through the Jap wikis, this is what I understand.

In ArNo, you can get plugins and some costumes from CielNo, plus some lines change. These changes would be triggered after marriage, yes?

In CielNo, you get some events, plus
ロボット?関係のレシピ, whatever it is, and 正装? and 星の帝?. You have to make 正装? to unlock the choice for the second ending.
A final question would be, what's the condition to unlock this stuff, particularly those recipes? Is it really reaching the final save point? The wiki doesn't mention that. Isn't it enough with just doing SekaiLink from ArNo once?
>>
>>14909551
Marriage is not necessary to change the dialogues, as the game has three different sets depending on your relationship with Ion: if you're friends, lovers or married.

The ロボット?関係のレシピ are the five recipes you get shortly after clearing Chapter 12, and you need to make them to start the Terminate Pack. On the other hand, 正装? and 星の帝? are the costumes you get from the SekaiLink: the first one is the Polar's Memory III and the second one the Ra Ciel Queen. For the first, you can get it just by doing the SekaiLink once you have seen a certain event early on in Ion's half during Phase 1 (saving Tattoria a second time), but for the latter you'll need to have a save right before the game's end.
>>
>>14909514
To me it does sound like "earth" at that point, and the same goes for the iteration of that phrase in all the songs it's heard in across the three games.
>>
>>14908256
I would say the timeline is canonically out of order for the player.

All of Ciel (more than a year's worth of play during release) happens during a timeskip half an hour into Ar. You're expected to be playing the series out of time order.
>>
>>14910383
That timeskip also includes the Ar nosurge manga and the Class-Arnosurge-Proto novel though... And Proto was uploaded to Gust site (in a rather creative and extremely meta manner) between the releases of Chapters 8 and 9, about a month before Ar nosurge's official announcement.
>>
>>14910490
Class-Arnosurge-Proto comes before Ar

Because I lied in my above post. Didn't want to mention I was a yuri fan since doing that usually seems to make people irrationally angry. From what I've gathered, it sounds like there's enough there between them but nothing obvious to people who don't like yuri.
