Why are kigu masks always so off-putting (mainly the mouth). I've seen plenty of figures and statues that successfully depict a character in 3d, so why don't people make masks that look more like figma faces or something?

for anyone who doesn't follow whats happening with west kigs, cici stopped making masks for wyu years ago when he got his 3d printer and wyu wanted to tell him how to use it and take credit for cicis work. now he makes 3d-printed one-offs and a couple types of generics and might actually be an okay maker if he (a) learned how to sculpt better and (b) didn't show pure contempt for his customers

Just about anyone can make you a specific character.
Sigma is everyone's favorite, but they're hard to get unless you live in Japan.
Nukopan is also very popular, but I think they only ship blanks outside Japan.
Ayame doesn't make copyrighted characters for legal reasons, but some owners convert them into actual characters anyway.
RinPiass and Monaka are probably the only Japanese makers that are willing to sell internationally, and can make full-customs, but they both have long queues and take a long time to deliver a product.
GKO in Taiwan is also very popular in the west, but like most Japanese masks, they can be pretty small.
Raigeki masks are extremely cheap, but are so distinct that they don't reflect specific characters as well as some other makers do (up to opinion though).
UK-based CharmingKitsune makes masks that scale a lot better to westerners. I don't know much about them, though, but they do seem a bit like Raigeki in that I see the maker's style first, and the character second (again, opinion).
Much-maligned US maker Ride the Pig can 3d print masks from scratch, but they're a gamble since they're very expensive and can be hard to communicate with.
Justin Bailey in Canada can do the same, and for a lot cheaper, but he hasn't produced enough work for me to get a good impression of it. Also, he's just one guy doing it rather than a team.
Also-maligned Australian / Hong-Kong maker LiveWearYu doesn't seem to make masks anymore, and only produced a few, very distinct shells.
Teitoku is a newer maker based somewhere around China (I forget where, exactly), and have produced some pretty nice kigs, but I don't know much about them.
KanaKig recently went back into production after working with GKO. I don't know much about them either, though.

This isn't the complete list, obviously, just some of the first that came to mind and my impression of them.

Sigma has been involved with making masks ever since I can remember and their quality suggests they aren't running a rinky dink operation. How about the others?
