Howdy guys, foreigner in japan, specifically okinawa. I had a few questions, is there significance to certain ways of wearing the tenugui? Or is it literally just a towel? I've tried googling but it's not very helpful, also I have quite a few tattoos, a friend told me today that only "outlaws have tattoos" should I try to make sure they're never seen?

Tattoos have a history with Yakuza, most Japanese will understand that you are a foreigner but they might not make an exception for a rule not allowing tattoos in the establishment. Keep them hidden probably is the best for all involved but even if you have visible tattoos it shouldn't be a problem if you stay discrete and behaved.
Tattoos are degenerate.

Thank you very much! Any tips or knowledge you might want to pass to a filthy round eye?

I understand and make no claims of moral superiority.
No one has input regarding the tenugui?
