You get a lot of maidens in kimonos during summer, especially weekends, which is always a treat. But I guess everyone is just busy with their own stuff during the summer.

Here's a little audio of Aizu Wakamatsu's departure melody. Most train stations in Japan, or at least terminals, have departure melodies, and this is Aizu's.

Also, here's a place where you can find this and other departure melody sheets.

It's a timelapse that covers December 12th 2014 to March 22nd 2015, when the last of the snow left over from the winter melted.
Unfortunately, the video skips at a few points due to some problems with the stream as well as with my own internet.

By mid to late December it will start to collect and those powdery mounds will form. Transforming the station into a winter wonderland. Watching that first full blown snow storm blow in is worth the wait.

It was always my dream to go here. The nights spent taking it easy and watching the sun rise over this station, with nothing else visible except the glow of the computer. Looking at the people bustle back and forth. I would sing to myself the melody of the departure songs to relieve the anxiety during the day. If I could hear that song... Now the dream is distant. Normality seems to take everyone eventually. I am living the dream in existential crisis.

I'm glad you asked. Simply because I have no life whatsoever, no friends, live in my mother's basement & spend the majority of my time watching this stream and collating data on the occurrence of snowflake fall related to time of the year, day, hour, minute, second, & even down to the microsecond, might I add. But for the sanity of the average 4chan users I thought it best to round it up to the approximate second. So as to not create any confusion. Firstly, I LURKED for several years in this very thread, collecting data, stuff & junk. Feed this data into a CPU. That subsequently crashed and caught fire with the sheer amount of data. Rebuilt said CPU only to see it crash & burn under the sheer amount of data I had collated. Went back to the drawing board and invented A.I.Yes, it was me not globocon© as the history books state. Or will start... but let's not get sidetracked with the future/past/present debate. Let me just say -2015 no overboard... yeah right!Created Snowtron© and the rest is history. *Need I remind you that this calculation is for the first official snowflake of 2015. For the first official snow cover on tracks 1& 2 further calculations will be required.

The entirety of Japan has been taken over, conqured if you will, by a master race of giant space ants.
It is difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive residents of Aizu-Wakamatsu or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain. There is no stopping them, the ants will soon be here.
And I for one accept our new insect overlords. Like to remind them as a veteran NEET. I-I can be helpful in amusing you with our dank memes after a days flogging in your underground sugar caves.

Maybe a lot of the footage was of no use.
Anyway it's some great work. I hope there is more to come. Reminds me of https://youtu.be/FoA9M8Wobfg And the same journey in the heart of winter https://youtu.be/dg6Gar97JPA

yfw this thread is 3 months old
what's the previous record?
>>14350415
Going through some bothersome stuff and these were really nice to tune out for a bit. Thanks.
>you will never get to ride japanese trains all day, every day
>you will never experience the comfy of just one of those trains
/jp/, I don't know if I can take it easy. All the videos and streams in the world can't compare to doing it for real.
>>14361856
Really nice, and nice background music.
And shit, I forgot how much I liked to travel.
>>14365048
To throw salt in your wounds, the shinkansen is even more comfy, standard trains are pretty good, much better than Australia (We have almost none)
Are you not able to travel or get a work visa ?

Travel can be expensive, and I don't have much money. It could take years before i save enough to go there, and even so many other things will probably get in the way of the journey.
>>14365230
I am very much aware of travel being expensive,
I spent 9 months slaving away at McDonalds with government assistance to fund my Japan trip, was planned with so called friends too, but alas thay bailed and I ended up going by myself.
But just keep saving what you can wherever you can. I can very much assure you that Japan is a wonderful place to visit
>>14365243
Visiting Japan is probably my biggest current goal for long-term at the moment, though it's hard to save money when I have to pay $500 to get my car fixed every other week. Though someday.Having yet to learn Japanese at a deeper level than common phrases is a slight setback, too.
>>14366899
Will get grilled for it, but when I went to Japan
I didn't know any Japanese, I feel like a cunt for it but I didn't have time for learning it when I also had University stuff too ;_:
Although I was able to communicate with just about everyone I met
>>14367040
Good to know you can survive in Japan without knowing the language. How hard was it overall?
>>14367112
How hard was it ?
Not too hard at all
I went to Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto. It was fairly easy to communicate, most of the train staff know some japanese or at the very least yes, no and 1-10
Within shopping centres I didn't really need to speak just plopped my stuff on the counter they scanned it and the machine said it was so many yen
>>14367234
I hate feeling like I hijacked the thread just to ask questions, so I'll just ask one last one. How much did it cost, if you don't mind me asking?
Back on thread topic, this channel has a lot of good, long train videos. https://www.youtube.com/user/1676MM/videos
>>14367260
For me it was $7000 Australian dollars
Although this included quite a few fuck ups
I waited too late for air fares and i traveled during Silver week which made hotels charge twice as much
I also went overboard with gifts for my family had to buy another suitcase
Final word
If you budget properly you could make it way cheaper
Back to trains
I loved the trains in japan
Comfortable
Convenient
Quick
And always on time
Since we're talking about train travel in Japan, this is a good book:

I might do a test video as my next video, like a 30/40 min video and just use one song to see if it works and doesnt get tired. We'll see, enjoy I guess.

Anon, it may not seem like much, but I can't express how happy I am that you're making these. They're some of the most comfy videos I've ever seen, and it's actually helped me feel a lot better these past few days. Thanks for all you've done so far, and I look forward to seeing more.
Snow when?
How do you make .webms out of a streamed file? This is pretty much as close as I've gotten, and it's not great.
