If monkeys were native to North America or Europe we would definitely have lots of good monkey meat recipes. A lot of people here eat squirrels and monkeys are basically just squirrels with long arms.
I have been heard that Bolivian howler mokey cooked in the indigenous Tsimane tribal fashion tastes similar to smoked turkey leg.
