'No'

Plus historical reasons; Navarra was a kingdom, the Basque Country never was.

In fact, most of them were kingdoms, some are Communities for cultural reasons, and 2 or 3 are meme Communities for purely administrative reasons like Madrid and La Rioja.

Navarra was an independent kingdom in the Middle Ages which is why they still have special laws. Besides, only about half of the Navarrese can speak fluent Basque. The Basque country was split between Navarra and Castile.

>The 2006 sociolinguistic survey[4] of all Basque provinces showed that in 2006 of all people aged 16 and above in the Basque Autonomous Community, 30.1% were fluent Basque speakers, 18.3% passive speakers and 51.5% did not speak Basque. The percentage was highest in Gipuzkoa (49.1% speakers) and lowest in Álava (14.2%). These results represent an increase on previous years (29.5% in 2001, 27.7% in 1996 and 24.1% in 1991). The highest percentage of speakers can now be found in the 16-24 age range (57.5%) vs 25.0% in the 65+ age range.

Younger generations speak more Basque than the older ones, interesting, so the 4/10 number will decrease in the future.

Why don't the Basque people push for independence as hard as Catalunya? They've been more vocal than the latter over the years so it surprises me.

Memeing aside, the uruguasho didn't imply otherwise. He said that the CAV and the CFN should be united. And that's true.
They should merge into Navarra, though.
>>
>>79501435
Actually there are more people for independence here than in Catalunya. It is just that we prefer to do things the correct way.
Right now, independence in the Basque Country would mean two ugly things:
- A good chunk of the population would not be happy with the independence. That means social fracture which is not good.
- Navarra is right now pretty divided and basque independence without Navarra is pretty odd.
We will get independent, but it will need time. Maybe another 30 years to have enough majority to avoid the mentioned problems.

The problem isn't getting more than 50% of the poblation to want the independence, it's making the rest of Spain want to change the constitution so you can have access to it "legally". That's impossible nowdays, and will be for at least another 50-100 years, if not more.

A large portion of Spain was first colonized by the Carthaginians.

Barcelona itself was founded by Hannibal.
>>
>>79505319
Aragon started as the Marca Hispanica, so technically it is a secondary precursor to the Kingdom of Asturias as well.

If anything, Catalan independence makes more sense than Portuguese independence tbqh.
>>
>>79520653
>Barcelona itself
not sure about that anon.
Better examples for Phoenician/Carthage colonies are Malaka (Malaga), Eivissa (Ibiza), Gadir (Cádiz), Cartagena (Cartago Nova/Qart Hadasht)
>>
>>79520859
Sorry, it was actually Hannibal's father, Hamilcar.

And it turns out it's a founding myth, not necessarily historical. Which is depressing desu.

Done that more or less just a few weeks ago. Grenada isn't that interresting worth visit but would not spend alot of time there.,Malaga is a better destination imo.
Sevilla is probably the most historic, but at the same time the one with the hotter climate.
Cordoba is fine.

Rebuild the Lines of Torres Vedras with walls. There's a project funding.

Put all former colonial immigrants inside the walls and containment area.
>>
>>79530174
That's also a neat idea, but it won't bring back the capital "trapped" in the stone and concrete of lisbon real estate by centuries of centralism though, we'll still be poor though free(er)
>>
>>79525795
>That doesn't make them lusitans in any way
I wasn't claiming that. The other anon said that Spain is not a Carthage colony, which is technically correct due to Spain no existing as a single entity then, but many coastal settlements started as Carthaginian colonies.

Of course, Spanish identity and modern Spaniards are not Carthaginian in any way, the same way that Montevideo and Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay are not Portuguese.

Spain is a nice country but it is very, /very/ stupid of them to want to split apart to the point of being separate countries.

You're all south of the pyrenees, you're all functionally the same thing where it really counts. Get over yourselves and stay united.

>>79493691

I suspect that this Frenchman knows what he's talking about. Balkanization for Spain is god-damn idiotic.

He's Basque so above all what he wants is to look attractive. But an irrelevant backwater will be less-able to develop the technology which might actually make Basque men attractive, which again goes to my earlier point that Spanish separatist tendencies are idiotic.

>Federal government

Lad, Spain is already more federal than the US. The only real difference is that we don't have different penal systems in each region.
>>
>>79544051
>Spain is already more federal than the US
>I do not understand what being federal means.
Spain is a decentralized country, not a federal one.
Federal means that sovereign entities renounce to part of their power in favour of a higher entity. The power goes from floor to top.
Spain was a centralized country that decentralized, giving part of its power to the regions. The power goes from top to floor. The CCAA are not soveign, they have never been, so Spain is not a Federation.

>Right now im.thinking youre a divide and conquer Jew who wants to weaken the native ibero basque community by fragmentation

But Spain itself is a jewish invention. "Spain" and "Spanish" were used indiscriminately by gaijins to refer to this peninsula even when Spain didn't even exist as a political entity. Even nowadays this established gaijin narrative remains 'the truth'

>"Spain" (not Castile) discovered America
>The "Spanish" Empire (but not a single mouthbreather gaijin using this highly debatable terminology knows jackshit about the actual structure or could name 2 institutions of government).
>The Spanish Armada that wanted to invade good old England (there even wasn't a Spanish Armada, and it was never called like that anyway)

And etc. Even the argie here thinks Catalonia somehow encompasses Valencia and Aragón too and the Uruguayan that Navarra and the CVA are the same thing and all basque speaking.

Sure there was an idea of Spain by the Spaniards since the high middle ages and this concept became somewhat apparent in the Renassaince but it wasn't the Spain of the gaijin narrative/propaganda. It was an oversimplification masked with absolute ignorance and lots of propaganda. Because the gaijin didn't know jackshit about Spain and at the same time feared Spain.

Not saying Spain as a political entity, a nation comprising the Iberian peninsula doesn't make sense. It totally does. But somehow this construction didn't follow its own path and tempo. It got lost in between the shitpost of the retarded gaijin narrative/propaganda, the overwhelming necessities of the times and the unrefined, undiscussed, anadapted integretation of gaijin-produced concepts and ideas made to fit their specific needs in a a specific manner, like nationalism and capitalism.

In a way a fragmentation would be nice because it would definitely kill that gaijin narrative. It would also kill the nationalist narrative of mouthbreathing separatists.
